mk2
Sell this car and get a wrecker.... your project is one of those tricky ones that'll probably be abandoned eventually, unfinished with too many difficult things to sort out for the average car enthusiast. Half shafts, for example need special heat treatment once cut and joined, and balancing if uneven. lots of welding lots of wiring lots of custom gear shift stuff custom exhaust the list goes on and on... it's a good looking motor... oh and welcome to club lupo! Now now, give the lad a chance. However, I echo the sentiments, rather than chop up a good one, find a 1.4 with a blown engine or something. weslangdon
You will also spend a lot of money, instead of doing that, open a separate bank account and save for the car you really want
Rich
Buy that half done red GTi on eBay atm, save some money and a car.

I'm convinced there's something he's not telling you on that ad. He discovered a few faults, so whipped out the whole engine???? It's like cracking a nut with a cruise missile.... Still, it's a potential bargain for someone with a truck and arsed.
Rich
Better now that it isn't two cars. Logistical nightmare.

Rich
No, this isn't the first time the auction has been listed. Last few times it was for two cars.

Rich
Maybe buy it and just transplant in a different MK4 platform engine ?
