GTi Central Locking

Hello guys,

Recently purchased a Lupo GTi and this is my first GTi I have owned.

For some reason when the car is unlocked, the alarm doesn't disarm. I have to jump in and turn the car on, which will disarm it.

Also the rest of the car doesn't unlock either.

Found today that the car cannot be opened from the inside on the driver side, the cable pulls enough and the door catch clicks but doesn't open. Can open it from the outside with no issues.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm guessing it's the locking mechanism that throws the whole car off but just wanted to double check in case it's something else I'm missing.

I know they don't, just would've thought it's a fiddly job.

Nah, it's easy. Just make sure you set the bowden correctly.

Similar issue recently. Changed the whole lock mech. Took 20 mins if that and it all works perfectly fine now :)

The door locks are really cheap on eBay , I've changed both on mine and they've worked great for years the VW dealer Ones are horrendously expensive .

Yeah I've bought one from eBay, just need to pull my finger out and get it swapped over :)
