Sausage
Yes there are probably zillions of threads about this but give me the condensed version. i was looking forward to a GTI rear beam courtesy of someone on this board but he left it out for the scrap man instead! Yes really, I couldn't freakin believe it either. Sooo i'm looking at converting a drum beam into a disk beam either retaining the whiteline arb it currently has or else welding in a substitute much like a GTI has (if i understand it correctly). I'd like list of bits and donor cars for said bits (as i doubt I would be buying all of it new) to convert to disk and also pics of GTI rear beam difference compared to sport beam and what the arb looks like on one. Cheers,

Sausage
Thanks. What is the difference with the gti beam? Does it just have a stiffener (arb) inside the main beam as I cant see any difference in photos compared to any other beam (gussets maybe)? Where does the GTI get the wider track from? Edit ok just found a pic of GTI beam with what looks like arb in it. So polo bits and stiffen up the beam then? Cheers

jon_273
Only difference is that strengthening bar inside it.
