Road Legal questions

Hey so i have a X plate (2000 year) Black Lupo and i was wondering what wheels would look good that don't cost too much (I'm not ratting it).

I have put a new steering wheel in it but it has no Airbag so for it to pass an MOT and be road legal would i need to have harnesses to keep the wheel in?

I also need 3 locking barrels for all three doors of course but need the key to math as well.

When taking the plastic trim off the outside of the car what is the best way to get the adhesive residue off without damaging paint.

Many Thanks.

Have you got an Airbag light on the dash? As far as i'm aware, fitting an aftermarket steering wheel isn't an MOT fail but the Airbag light on the dash if lit up, is a fail.

Not sure on the rest tbh. Does your key not open the doors or are the barrels damaged?

No, as above, so long as the airbag light isn't on you have nothing to worry about.

3 options essentially:

  • Strip cluster down and desolder LED light
  • Strip cluster down and tape over LED light
  • Use a resistor to trick the light into thinking all is OK.

As for the adhesive residue, I used Petrol. Worked a treat.

And the locks, find a breakers, get them from there. Why do you only need the 3 and not the key barrel for the ignition?

I'm not too sure why but all the door except the drivers side don't work. Boot door wont turn so i think it may be a different key needed. The passenger side turns but doesn't do anything.

I use a different key for the ignition so that works fine.

I've tried the resistor but it hasn't worked.
