Mobieus_uk
not any of the old polos currently under repair but this is our new polo with 15k on the clock (to clarify we have had it since new and the 15k is all ours) about 3 months ago it went into the garage for a funny noise, they diagnosed clutch (DSG gearbox), which they replaced, we had to return the following day as on of the lower ball joints had not been tightened as was loose and making a noise, then a further return because of a whooshing noise which turned out to be the airbox not fixed down correctly, this sets the scene for the quality of work from a dealership Today while turning around a roundabout funny metal on metal noise, pulled over and the car was dumping gearbox oil, i know this cos as anyone who has worked on gearboxes knows it has a very distinct smell, The report from the recovery is the driveshaft has become disconnected as all the bolt are loose as suspect some damage has occured as on its own that would not cause gearbox oil to dump so we figure the diff seal has been damaged, should be fun for the garage to fix, just goes to show that just because they are a dealer dont mean the quality of work is any better than a driveway repair Edited March 12, 2017 by Mobieus_uk
Sausage
That is frankly ridiculous. I'd be looking at taking that higher up the food chain for some recompense.

Mobieus_uk
it landed at the garage today, they said they might get to look at it tommorrow or wednesday, dont care as they will be footing the bill either way
Mobieus_uk
garage has been is contact and they are saying gearbox is toast, 5 to 7 working days for them to get a box in, wife complained as she needs a car for work so they are hiring a car at their cost, methinks they have realised they have messed up and may have to answer some awkward question from VW as driveshaft dont just undo and kill gearboxes unless they were never torqued up in the first place to spec
