Steve TDI
Seat Arosa 2003 TDI. The other day it felt like my clutch was failing. The clutch pedal hardly did anything so had to drive around without using it. When I had to come to a stop I had to turn the engine off, put it in 1st, start it up and away I go. I have since fitting a brand new clutch master cylinder AND a new slave cylinder. Still same problem. The clutch itself is 6 months old. It might sound like a strange request, but can someone post a video of their clutch pedal going in and out. I'm after a shot of the spring up the back of the pedal. Something else is just not right and I can't work it out. The Master cylinder shaft comes all the way out, BUT, the pedal no longer touches the clutch switch. I'm fairly sure the cruise control has been working. There are bits of metal that could be bent to stop them meeting up or bend them so they do meet, but I didn't move them as they are really stiff to shift. Sausage
Probably the actuator rod on the slave cylinder, wehay changed his slave cylinder and it was a bitch to get the clutch working again and that was all it was in the end that the rod wasnt aligned with the arms dimple I think and it wasnt just plug and play it needed manually making sure it was seated. Steve TDI
That was the first thing I changed. Then fitted a new master cylinder. Then refitted the original slave and it's still the same.
Sausage
So you have new master / slave and clutch and bearing but your clutch is exactly the same as before i.e it doesnt disengage the clutch despite a hard pedal? Are you having to manually lift the pedal to make it return in the vid? Edited March 8, 2017 by Sausage
Steve TDI
Well, the pedal doesn't return back to the top. The first inch or two going down nothing happens. As soon as you lift the pedal when in gear, it moves straight away. Just lift it 1mm and it's trying to go.
Sausage
Sticky pedal like that is usually it needs more bleeding.
