thierryrichards
Hi all. Posted on here about intermittent non start and now complete non start. Anyway, today I committed cardinal sin of easy start just to see if it was firing. It would start then cut out which made me think fuel. So I took what I think is fuel line into injectors and off and cranked and nothing. Could you guys confirm if this is fuel in? And the fact no fuel comes out when I crank would be an indicator of the problem? It's a 1.0 mpi
Sausage
We needs the fault codes....
Joechapl
Fault codes may be a help. If nothing, lift up the back seats and unscrew the black cover, there reveals your fuel pump. Turn the ignition on after doing so and listen for a whir. If nothing happens, check your fuse #40 if that's not blown. If it isn't, check your relay #409 I think. Are you sure its not the cam sensor and not removing the wrong pipe?
thierryrichards
Fault codes are longstanding ones pne is EGR and the other is a misfire on each cylinder. I would have to plug in at weekend to get them again
Sausage
Do a compression test to satisfy yourself that it isnt mechanical before spending money on bits. Testers for petrols are sub £20 so no point paying someone to do it and then you have it for years. But it does just sound like a sensor or no fuel getting thru. Pull the plugs and if they are wet then fuel is getting thru, they should all be similar colour and condition (look up plug charts), if not note which cylinder the odd one came out of. thierryrichards
Thanks for reply, plugs were bone dry with slight signs of white powder on them but not loads. WIll see if I can borrow a tester. Will also check for fuel pump noise, i havnt tried the cam sensor. THe pipe into the Injector rail had arrow on going into the rail so it must be the correct one I would think. I just didnt know whether if disconnected it would still pull through or not
cj1
It looks like the fuel line is still connected on that picture.
thierryrichards
Hi cj1 This is where I wasnt entirely sure. The pipe where the tip of my screwdriver one is the one that I have removed
