VW Lupo Drivers Seat Won't Lock Down

Recommended Posts

My son's 2004 VW Lupo TDI failed its MoT due to the drivers seat not locking in position.  I've had a quick look and it looks like the mechanism is parting due to a missing circlip/c clip/washer - local garage quoting £250 for a repair including £65 for replacement assembly but can;t justify the cost.  I've PM'd another chap who seems to have had a similar issue a couple of years ago with his Seat Arosa.  Any ideas on where I might get a replacement clip/washer - it looks the sort of thing which should costs pennies but I may be underestimating the issue.  Any other advice/suggestions welcomed.

Any other advice? Easy. Get a new seat. Honestly they're pennies. In fact, people regularly give them away for free.

250 quid?!? I'd never turn into their forecourt again!!!

Agreed, although if they're busy, they'll add their own 'inconvenience charge'.
