charli3b
After buying the car we realised that the car burnt a lot of oil so we took the top end of the engine out for new piston rings, end shells and a head skimming! charli3b
After the engine we sorted we moved over to the dreadful paint... seriously it was like bad on every panel! The car went into JPD Engineering Southwell for a full body smoothing and respray in the original colour of jazz blue!
charli3b
Results out of the paint booth -
charli3b
The car came with some shitty aftermarket bodged mirrors which had to go! I sourced some stubby mirrors for both sides and got them painted gloss black!
charli3b
While the in the booth I also got my engine cover sprayed! I'm not really a fan of the green strip so i'm tempted to get it changed! a nice r8 or porsche oil cap would look baller!
MadMatt26
Worth it for the plate alone! Love it

charli3b
While all this was happening I hadn't actually passed my driving test so I was saving for some wheels and coilovers! In July 2015 I bought a set of FK AK Coils from DPM Performance for £175 delivered! However I decided not to fit them til after the winter period as they'll get wrecked due to the frost and salt! In addition to this in august of 2015 I acquired some money for my birthday which I decided to put towards wheels! I orginally planned on getting a set of AXE EX8 in silver however there were none in stock anywhere! So I decided that I would put a bit more money in the fund and go for some stuttgart st7's, same again none in until the end of september! I wasn't gonna wait that long! I tried extreme offset however there waiting list was February 2016! I decided I would look for some used ones instead. I went on to wheel whores classifieds and look for something and I came across my dream wheel... It was a set of OZ Turbos in Burgundy. I've always wanted a set! They were about 720 euros including shipping! at the time the euro had a great conversion rate to the pound so I got them for about £525! It wasn't all good news... as you can see the wheels weren't exactly clean in the photos so he cleaned them and found a 5 inch crack in one of the lips He gave me £50 of the price to source a new lip for the wheel and then they turned up 3 days later! I came home and round this in the shed 2 battered boxes from hungary that were lucky to even get to my house due to no house numbers on the boxes! Luckily I ordered my tyres and they came on the same day! so the delivery man put 2 and 2 together! Luckily no damage what so ever! That afternoon I gave them a quick polish and sourced a new 30 hole lip from ebay!
charli3b
Couple of days later this turned up! Turns out that the lip I bought was from a BBS RM so it has a step unlike the flat lip on the lips I already had! charli3b
So I decided that I would put the oz turbos on as a test fit and ended up leaving them on and going to Ultimate Stance! I really like the colour combination however I will be changing them over winter! Edited January 14, 2016 by charli3b
charli3b
Before Ultimate Stance, I bought a couple of bits for the lupo! It's all in the details! So I bought some Vibe Slick Coaxial speakers and some new number plates, a shorter front one which looks sick!
charli3b
Here's a few photos from Ultimate Stance! Was such a great show!
charli3b
After Ultimate Stance I decided to get my **** together and really get stuck into my all the tasks i've had planned for the lupo! First thing I did was to a black plastic conversion! (I do have the lupo with dark grey plastics but the headliner and grab handles are still grey!) I have no photos for this! The next thing I did was to get my dash plastics painted gloss black!
charli3b
I wanted to add something unique to the interior of my lupo! I contacted Sean over at Inspire Automotive, a local interior retrimmer! We discussed ideas and decided to add a different dimension to my interior! To do this we chose a theme of charcoal alcantara with a blue stitch to match the car! From the start of December to now he has been retrimming small details within my interior to make it a much nicer space to drive in! He's done an amazing job! If anybody needs any trimming needs go message him on facebook, just search Inspire Automotive and give a follow on instagram @inspire_automotive Edited January 14, 2016 by charli3b
charli3b
To go with the small interior bits I wanted some new seats! I was given money from my parents for Christmas 2015 so I trawled ebay to find a set of seats for the lupo! It was hard to find a seller that would split a full set of seats however I found a set of audi tt mk2 half leather half suede seats for £250 Now I just needed a method of fitting them! charli3b
Into my winter plans I had to come to the fact that eventually I had to split and sand my wheels down! 1 hour into splitting the I snapped the specialist socket and 5 bolts... So that night I ordered 120 chrome bolts and 120 nuts! I also treated myself to 2x 2inch dishes for the rears This was a picture from the night I split them, just waiting for tyres to be taken off! The next day I started sanding them! just waiting for new centre caps to Arrive!
charli3b
On that same day I also got some more plastics sprayed!

This week was the last week I could do any major work on my car before I went back to university! I STILL HAD MY SEATS IN THE GARAGE! So I spoke with Alex 'IBUMMEN' McKenzie and he said he would send me his old mk2 tt seat runners! THESE ARRIVED TODAY AFTER IPOSTPARCELS WERE UNABLE TO COLLECT COS THEY'RE PRUNES! They'll be an update tomorrow about the seat fitting! Edited January 14, 2016 by charli3b
