Bones
Hi everyone, I bought a Lupo GTi back in March and have been a member on CL since - I thought it was about time I got some pics up of my car and started a thread as I plan to start making some changes soon.So here are a few pictures, the car is pretty much exactly how I bought it except I have replaced the red piping on the front grill as it was looking a bit tired.Planned work so far is;New suspension - the cheap coilovers are leaking oil and the ride is terribleNew wheels - Probably go back to 15"Original rear view mirrorNew headlight washer coverNew starter motor New engine bay coverTidy up a few bits of bodyworkOverall its a great little car - always been a big fan of VW's so hope to get it to a good OEM+ Comments welcomeWayne
carrera-gt
So OEM suspension, perhaps 20mm lowering springs just to tidy up the rolly poly handling ?
Bones
Ordered the b12 kit from awesome, think it needs 30-40mm just to look like it should have done in the first place

Bems
Looks good & plans sound good too. Look forward to see your review on the b12 kit as I'm in the same boat as you but can't decide if these would be better with a higher ride height or kW v1's

Look forward to see your review on the b12 kit as I'm in the same boat as you but can't decide if these would be better with a higher ride height or kW v1'sTook me a while to decide but got a price match on the b12 kit so couldn't justify the extra for the kw. I also doubt I would ever adjust the ride height once I had it fitted. I will keep this thread updated to let you know how it goes

Bones
Thanks for the nice comments. Few updatesFirstly this arrived last weekWill hopefully get to fitting these before the end of the month. Also picked up some new wheels that just need a refurb - BBS RS764Not sure on what to do yet, initially I was going for full silver rims to make them look OEM but with the polished lip on these I think it might look better if the centres are a different colour - maybe anthracite or a light grey? Bones
Forgot to add, also managed to crack my windowscreen while trying to replace the rear view mirror over the weekend. Will be getting autoglass to sort it, hopefully without too much hassle getting the correct screen.
lupogtiboy
Nice GTI! And some nice tasteful mods too...With regards to the screen, Autoglass will fit an OEM screen if you ask them, I think I'm on my 11th screen in mine (cheap resurfacing jobs here!) They tried to say it would cost me extra, but my insurance company said no, so just paid my excess. The VW part number for a GTI screen is6E0 845 011 Ethough currently on factory back order. I'm not available until the 15th but I will be checking the replacement screen before I let them touch the car

Bones
Bit of an update... As far as the suspension goes I was reading through a few old builds and decided to check the part number so the kit I'd got. If you go on the bilstein site it shows the b12 kit as for all lupo models but if you look at the front shocks separately it shows a different part number for the Gti/non-Gti, so basically awesome had a look into it for me and I they've ordered the correct shocks for me so I need to wait around for those to come. As far as the windowscreen goes autoglass came today with a pilkington screen as expected. Waiting to hear from them tomorrow but the bloke wouldn't believe me that it's thinner glass. lupogtiboy
He will definitely notice it when he picks it up to fit, the difference in weight is amazing, bit like closing a gti bonnet over a standard lupo one.
Silver!
I have Pilkington in my side passenger rear window, not sure if it's thinner, but the company said it was made to original spec.I couldn't go any longer with out one and I didn't have a micrometer handy... Bones
So a few updates; With regards to the windscreen it has been replaced by auto glass and surprisingly its a dealership screen so has the VW mark on it - obviously must of moaned to the right people. Also fitted the B12 kit - so far so good, the handling is great - the front sits nicely but the back could do with dropping a bit more IMO.Managed to swap my D90's for some Bathurst, they aren't in great shape but they're just gonna be my spares once I get the BBS sorted.Had a service which picked up a few issues that I have been getting fixed - its had a new radiator, new rear bushes, new anti roll bar bushes, new tie rod ends, new starter motor. Also had a breakdown and had to get a new battery and alternator.Future plans; The gear box is leaking a little bit of oil which looks like its from a previous repair, I'm going to get this rebuilt by midland VW at some point before christmas.Getting the rear bumper, front bumper and boot handle sprayed to refresh it a little bit.Need to get round to changing all the discs and pads, got the stuff ready for a G60 upgrade.Need some new matsWill get some pics up at the weekend once its had a clean.
