performancevw Posted March 6, 2015 Report Share Posted March 6, 2015 hi guy just wondering if -(1)15w40 would be okay to use on AHW 1.4 16v as tappets are noisy. previous owner did oil flush and oil change but i dont know what grade he used.(2) also are there any rocker cover gasket fitted on this engine or is it just a sealent as engine also leaks oil a tiny amount from the rocker cover.(3) what about the sump? is there any gasket fitted there too?Cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mpiloop Posted March 9, 2015 Report Share Posted March 9, 2015 Liqui-moly should stop noise but maybe run a slightly thicker grade oil in the engine than specified. Yes there should be a gasket on the rocker cover I believe and potentially not on the sump but there are oil additives that can stop leaks if there not that bad Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
