New GTI Owner

Hi all, just bought myself a Lupo GTI and wanted to introduce myself. I stumbled across this site when I started looking at a lupo as a potential new car, I have always been a big fan of VW's and my first car was a 1.0 Seat arosa so I know how much fun these cars can be. Anyway found this website had loads of useful information and picked up my new car Thursday off ebay. It's not perfect but I think it's pretty tidy and was within budget.

So onto the car, its standard apart from FK coilovers, D90 wheels, cambridge rear lights, the rear view mirror has been turned purple as has the engine bay cover.

Bad points;

-Few areas of the body work need sorting - boot handle and rear bumper need spraying and I need a new headlight washer cap - apart from that the bodywork is in good condition as far as I can tell all the panels are original.

- Starter motor sometimes squeaks - will get a new one when it gets serviced.

- Mirror and engine bay cover need replacing

- Drivers side electric window switch doesn't always work.

Here are a few rubbish pics from my phone, I will get some better ones on once I get chance to give it a good clean.

Since the pictures I have raised it by 20mm all round as it was catching on the speed bumps.

Plans for the next 6-12 months are to fix the problems mentioned above and give it a major service replacing plugs, leads etc. I'm unsure as to the wheels at the minute, at first I was 100% changing them but they're growing on me so will see how I feel when I have some cash. In the long run I like the original look with a few small changes but nothing major.

Comments welcome.

Pretty tidy example what spec is on it and mileage?

It's got 89k on the clock with fsh. Spec wise I thought most stuff was standard except air con and sunroof which it doesn't have?

Won't be much happening until after the summer as going on holiday and just moved home.

Someone has knocked off my wing mirror last night, do Vw still supply spare parts or is it just Tring to find a used one?
