Gina_0605
Brought some PVC bucket seats of eBay, cheap and cheerful but although told they would fit, the runners are completely different. Any idea on how to help would be great, cheers
Skezza
Well, you need to take the runners off a set of Lupo seats and either weld or attach them to the base of the bucket seats. PVC bucket seats sound... erm, interesting. Have you actually sat in them lol? Are they better than OEM? I'd love to sit in a set of really cheap seats (and I don't mean in a FIAT!) Gina_0605
Luckily enough I have a friend who does welding as a living! Just thought I would see if there was a easier way. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfy they are for £200 of eBay
Skezza
Luckily enough I have a friend who does welding as a living! Just thought I would see if there was a easier way. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfy they are for £200 of eBayWow, that's not that cheap. You can get a set of decent MK4 Recaro's for that and they go in without welding or any of that lark.I doubt there's any other way to do it safely. From what I remember if you want it to work nice and OEM, you firstly need a base frame as in this:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-GENUINE-VW-LUPO-SEAT-AROSA-FRONT-RIGHT-SEAT-BASE-FRAME-6X3-881-106-BD-/400403610000(or taken from another seat which might well be cheaper as you can pickup a set of knackered seats from a scrapyard for about £10 each)Then you need to adapt the seat to the frame somehow. Can you do it with cable ties? Lol... there may be a better way of doing this that I don't know. I don't tend to go down the bucket seat route. The only other way is using a sub-frame like this :http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HC-780-S-OMP-L-H-SEAT-MOUNT-SUBFRAME-VOLKSWAGEN-LUPO-ALL-inc-GTI-98-LEFT-SIDE-/321619853185?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ae2097f81I have no idea how these work though. Sorry.. Some of the other guys on here might know of a better way though. Edited January 23, 2015 by Skezza
Gina_0605
Literally cannot thank you enough, great help! Once they've been upholstered will get started on trying to fit them lol
Skezza
Not a problem Gina. When you fit them, get some photos up and let us know how you got on in the end.
DannyParanoid
I made some brackets for mine, that bolted onto the front mount of the lupo and onto the top of the runners, that then bolted onto the runners that came with the seats, I can take some photos when it's a bit lighter tomorrow if you want? arosaSDI
I used the omp custom fit seat rails and attached my seats to those in the arosa, I then had bars wielded in when I fitted side mounts and the roll cage
