  1. Very reluctant sale of my Arosa Sport due to a baby on the way. Good unmodified and low mileage example, posted here first in the hope of finding a new owner who will appreciate it. Make: Seat Model: Arosa Sport MOT: December (No advisories on last MOT) Engine size: 1.4 Fuel type: Petrol Mileage: 31,100 Registered: December 2004 Description including modifications: No modifications Good points: Very low mileage, excellent condition for it's age, interior very smart, owned for 8 years with no problems (Front disks and pads replaced 2013, EGR value replaced 2017) Less good points: Passenger side window does not open (common Arosa/Lupo fault), cracked driver side wing-mirror casing, large scratch and small dent on passenger side, due a service (major service June 2017), alloys scratched but in reasonable condition considering the age. Location: West Midlands (between Coventry and Solihull) Price: £1,250 ONO

    1.4 Sport exhaust options?

I've just purchased a Lupo Sport 1.4 and I'm looking to do a back box delete, and hopefully add a race tube in the near future. Ideally, a sportex system is in my price range and I like the sound of those, however I don't know which ones will fit my SPORT model? Also if anyone has any links to a race tube or mid pipe for it please link! Cheers

Looking at getting a scorpion exhaust. Has anyone got one & how would you rate it? not sure wether or not to get just the back box and run it straight through to the cat or get the scorpion exhaust with the middle silencer included.. need opinions!

    Misfireing issue

Hi , i bought a sport about 3/4 weeks ago, and last friday lost some power when coming home from work. Turns out cylinder 1 is misfireing, changed the plugs and leads and had no luck , i tried a few used coil packs and none of them fixed the issue. The car was loosing coolant but doesn't seem to burn any, no mayo on oil cap, if the car runs for 5 mins it struggles to start again or at all. A lot of white smoke is coming out of the crank breather that goes to the air filter, and a lot of oil on the filter. any ideas? Could it be the head gasket or something else? Like rings or valves? cheers

Hello First time posting here, Ive been told that the AUB cylinder head can be used to build the popular AFH/AVY hybrid, I understand the cams and pulleys are different, I have built the engine and tried to turn it over, my lupo sport originally had an AUB unit but the engine seized so I used the head to build my hybrid which is AUB/AVY as I was told it would run with a map. The engine turns over but struggles on the compression stroke, as if the starter is weak but I checked it and it is fine. I am wondering if anyone has built a hybrid either using the AUB or AFK successfully and if I could ask them some questions to sort some teething issues I am currently experiencing myself.
  6. Make: VW Model: Lupo Sport 1.4 TDI MOT: Passed 21/07/2017, valid until Aug 3rd 2018 TAX: £30 per year Engine size: 1.4 TDI Fuel type: Diesel Location: Near Lutterworth, Leicestershire Price: £2,900 ono Increasingly rare chance to get your hands on a totally stock, low mileage Lupo Sport 1.4 TDI. I thought I'd list here for a week or so before it goes onto Auto-Trader or similar, as I'd like to see it go to an enthusiast who'll look after it. Obviously it's up to the buyer as to what they do with it, but in my opinion it'd be best being kept as is rather than modified as it's such a nice example. As a bit of background, my wife bought a silver Sport TDI from a main dealer back in 2004, it was 9 months old when she got it and we ran it until 2008 when we had our son and it was a hassle getting him into a rear facing child seat, so it was sold. She always compared subsequent little cars to the old Lupo, so with no child seats etc to fit anymore, I found this one about 20 months ago and bought it for her as a surprise! Registered 31/12/02 and lived in Cornwall all of it's life, and that's where i got it from in December '15 and drove it the 300 miles to Leicestershire without any issues on a filthy December day. The colour is a really nice metallic grey, it has factory air con (still works a treat) and factory remote central locking (on the key, not a seperate fob) and aside from that I think it's all standard Sport spec. and it also has 4 x factory rubber mats which must have always been in as the carpet underneath is almost unmarked. Also genuine mud flaps with the VW logos on the rear ones. I replaced the old FM/Cassette player with a Pioneer DEH-8700DAB and bought a proper bee sting aerial which is roof mounted, all wiring hidden in trim and it has a microphone on the A pillar for decent hands free calls. This lot was over £200. and will be included. I still have the cassette player if a purist wants to go back to stock! https://www.pioneer-car.eu/uk/products/deh-x8700dab/support It has a partial service history but not full by any means. I insisted the cam belt and water pump were replaced before I drove it from Cornwall, so that is good for 2 1/2 years. We use Vasstech VW group specialist in Rugby and they have serviced it for us. Last autumn it had a full service and they found the fuel pump was leaking, so that was replaced, and it had new passenger door central locking as that was not always working. It just passed it's MOT yesterday (21st July) with front tyres being the only advisory, still legal but getting low. For it's age, the paint and body work is really good (always garaged by us) but for honesty's sake, the near side corner of the rear bumper has had a light knock at some point. I'm sure this could be sanded and resprayed but it's never bothered us enough to sort. See last image. My wife recently changed jobs and this makes the car surplus to requirements. We'll be sad to see it go but we can't justify keeping it. Please call / mail me if you have any questions or want to come and view. It stills pulls really well, and feels totally solid. Thanks for looking, Matt and Louisa 01788 860 716 07967 506416
  7. The day has come to sell my Arosa as I've now bought a new car. I've owned the car since November 2014 and covered approx 25k in it since. It also has a huge amount of receipts/past MOT's and the V5C in my name and the original 2 keys (one with locking buttons). Pictures here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seat-Arosa-Sport-100bhp-Big-spec-lots-of-upgrades-/142382581436? Spec is as below; - 1.4 100bhp sport AUB 109k - doesn't burn a drop of oil. - Custom Chrome exhaust cat back - Direnza stainless manifold - AP coilovers - 12 months old in perfect order. - Whiteline rear anti-roll bar - Rota GRA 15x6.5, rare now in 15' as they only make them in Subaru size now, with brand new rota caps (perfect condition refurbed in Jan) - Yokohama S Drives 195/45/15 - bought new when wheels were done - 20mm H&R rear spacers. - Momo 300mm, red stitching with a genuine boss and yellow horn button. - Kode red gear knob - Alpine CDE235bt Bluetooth stereo - Cambridge rear lights - Brembo discs front and back, green stuff pads (front) Brembo (rear) - Heko wind deflectors - Dash vents painted splash effect, they look nice (people always ask about them), but to be honest they're not the best finish. - Really decent rubber car mats Recent parts fitted, most/all will have a receipt... - New ignition leads (bigger and don't fit holder) - New battery - New coil pack - New tyres - S Drives - Brake light switch - Rear Brembo pads - Wishbones, ball joints & track rods - Tracking done at A-line with the printout. Serviced in my ownership every 5k with Castrol / Mobil 1 oil and decent parts - not all stamped but lots of receipts from Motorfators with the reg number for service parts. Last service was one was 2k ago. Bad bits... - Bodywork is tatty at the best. Loads of lacquer peel and about 7 shades of yellow. - Rear arches look like they were rolled by a blind person paint has cracked. also paint has flaked off around the rear number plate. - the lip on the sills on both sides are bent/damaged (used as a jacking point by someone), not really an issue but you can see it. - Windows have a mind of their own but always work, drivers one sometimes needs to be asked twice or need a hand halfway up. Passenger one opens only with passenger switch. - Rear right caliper sticks on slightly sometimes and can hear it, still stops as it should. - At some point, the engine light has been taped over, and it is on (can see it in the dark) because of exhaust lambda readings, but the car drives spot on. I also have lots of parts for lying around for it, that will come with the car if the buyer wants, including original seat 5 spoke alloys. Now I know roughly what this car will break for, but I don't have the time or can be bothered to do it. So grab a bargain on the whole lot. No swaps. CASH ON COLLECTION £750 ono

Sorry I'm new to this, I was wondering if anyone could share any info and help me out. I have recently brought a 1.4 lupo S with what I thought was a good spec list as I have never seen this all on one lupo, or even at all. List as follows, -pop out back windows -3 seats in the back instead of two - heated seats -easy access fold and lift seats -heated seats -cd multichanger -fog lights -electric Windows -air conditioning -sport alloys -stubby mirrors both sides if anyone can shine a light about if this is rare at all or if it is simply just another lupo then I would be very greatful ?? thanks
  18. I'm looking for some information on the sport model boot well/spare wheel. When i bought my sport it had already passed through the hands of a few modders and thus was somewhat violated, the spare wheel never sat right and there was a visible bulge in the boot carpet, i suspected that the pad underneath was an incorrect part: This is the part from a NON-sport model - part number: 6H0601125A I believe the sport model may have a different part number but i cannot find any information online anywhere. If somebody could please post a series of pictures detailing how the sport space saver sits inside the boot and how the carpet is seated i'll give you a metaphorical cookie and a pat on the back. Cheers.

Car was listed on Gumtree with a 'gearbox problem' and in need of TLC which was no problem as price was low enough and I wont be driving it until October 2014.

  25. And we are back! The Lupo has been happily doing the job of being a great daily for the Mrs. Just a rear wheel bearing replaced last month and regular servicing carried out, the car has been brilliant! Something I have wanted to do for some time now was replace the suspension as the shocks had developed leaks and was leaning way too much in corners. I began researching kits available for the Lupo and kept an eye on various classifieds for a potential deal. As the car would continue to be driven over potholed roads and launched over speedbumps, the requirements meant a compliant ride and a sensible drop. No sump scrapers here. Also with my wife's lack of mechanical sympathy, I needed something that would take adverse situations in its stride. I looked at various coilovers and decided that they were completely unnecessary as the adjustment just wasn't required and I didn't wan't the maintenance hassle either. So various fixed spring/shock combos were investigated. The cream of the crop Eibach Bilstein combo was turning out to be quite pricey and didn't give quite the drop I was after and using cheaper springs with standard shocks sounded like a recipe for a bad quality ride. Various kits from Koni, AP, Spax, Apex and other brands all looked very tempting and all came in around the £300 so while deciding what to buy a brand new Apex Sport kit with a 40mm drop came in on a clearance deal at £215 delivered! Done deal! Apex Sport kit with a 40mm drop The kit looks well made enough for a budget setup. It didn't come with bump stops or top mounts so these were sourced from Euro Car Parts. I went with their option as they offered SKF branded top mount and bearings. So the patient was prepared for surgery. Some reference measurements and pictures were take to see how much the chassis would drop. The old factory suspension had definitely seen better days. A lot of penetrating fluid required. A reference measurement of camber was taken before removal of the shock. An Iphone with the level app or similar will do. This made it easy when fitting the new shock so the camber is close to original while the suspension settles over the next couple of weeks. Final alignment will be done then. The top mounts were dismantled as the top spring cap, dust boot and bearing retaining nut was required. This picture shows the order of assembly. The required parts were transferred to the shocks before fitting to the car. Then the rears were tackled. These were in a similar state to the fronts and had no real damping qualities left. To get to the rear dampers, the interior trim requires removal. The vertical trim pulls away near the top. This reveals x2 torx head screws. Remove these too. The holes can be seen here. Pull the plastic box section towards the front of the car and pull the carpet trim down. This reveals the top mount cover. Pull that off and the top mount will be accessible. Now unbolt everything. The rear bump stops were cut down by the same amount as the suspension drop, 40mm in this case, otherwise the rears would be riding the stops prematurely. I do this because VW tends to use very long rear bump stops for height control so not cutting them down would result in a bumpy ride. Refit is the reverse of removal as they Haynes manual always says! lol. With the rears fitted and the car back on the ground, it's always a good idea to re-tighten all the top mount bolts as the car's weight helps it all seat a bit better. I took the car for a short test drive to help it all settle further and find out what it was all like. I was pleasantly surprised! I expected less roll and a firmer ride anyway as the OE stuff was so badly shot but what surprised me was the way potholes and bad surfaces were dealt with. No crashy bangs or bumps, no hard thumps and I didn't cringe when travelling over speed bumps! Happy as I could be tbh. So how does it look now? Front and rear arch gaps don't swallow children any more. And the overall look is pleasant indeed! I expect it might drop a little further of the next few days too. I'll report back with how it fairs and if the good ride quality is sustained. I hope this helps as I could not find an account for this kit when searching for myself. Gurds
