  1. 1.8T Lupo Conversion

    Ended up buying my old 1.0e lupo back! For the grand price of £100 with a thermostat issue. (Which I've now fixed) rather than F about trying to make a 1.0 go faster, I've decided to push myself and go for a 1.8T, now I know a few people have done this already so really I'm just looking for some guidance on what I'll need (engine mounts, master cylinder, gearbox, driveshafts, ECU, loom, code of the engine) in essence the essential to have it up and running. the car is currently on FK coilovers, banded staggered steelies, and the back completely stripped! Heres some photos of what it looks like now and some what it looked like before I sold it the first time
  2. Powerflex Bushes - where to buy?

    Hi all, Im looking at getting the Powerflex Black line bushes as im doing a few track days later this year (and my bushes are all looking tired and have some play developing in most of them). I'm aiming to enter the old girl into the MSVR track day trophy or MSVR all comers (depends on what the car sits better in terms of regs and what circuits each club go to etc). Just wanted to to hear about where you guys bought yours, the prices you paid for them & if you encountered any issues when replacing your old ones! Thanks in advance, Matt
  3. Hello all. Let's start from the very beginning. So I bought my Lupo GTI just under 3 years ago now - 28th June 2014 to be precise. I originally bought the car with every intention of making it a road going show car, after attending various local/nationwide shows with a select group of friends. The level of attention to detail of some of these cars was second to none and it was really quite inspiring to see first hand for myself. Growing up in the North West of England (Wigan) I was lucky to be exposed to a large variety of different automotive cultures. Be it everything from Japanese, German, VAG to Classic, High Performance and Concourse show cars. I started driving early 2012 and despite much controversy my first car was a 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa D (Unlimited Edition) . However after 2 years of ownership in 2014 I decided it was time for a change. I had recently gained employment at Jaguar Land Rover - Halewood and my insurance started to dip a little. It was then I set out on the hunt for a car to tick a few boxes. I wanted something fun, nimble, fast but at the same time something that wasn't going to break the bank insurance/fuel wise. After weeks of what seemed like endless searching I fell in love with a Black Lupo GTI I had found on AutoTrader. The owner, a 56 year old lady from Rugby, Warwickshire. The car itself was absolutely perfect (Black, 6 Speed, Low mileage 64K, FSH, Completely standard and unmolested). It was everything I was looking for.
  4. How quick is a lupo racecar?

    Hi, I currently race a DC2 integra type R. Its about 210bhp, weighs 900kg's, has a built gearbox (4.7FD & Close 3,4,5 gears) and J's Racing ECU & Coilovers. I am looking at the lupo on PH (http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3246305.htm) 1.8T ex ADAC Championship car Would it be quicker or slower that what I currently have? Has anybody raced lupo's before? I have driven one but it was a standard gti. Brian
