  1. Hello I really want camber on rear and I've heard you can do it with washers? Can someone tell me how to or post a link where it says how? Cheers Tom
  2. Hi im currently running 8J ET25 (16”) on the rear of my lupo gti on a 205/40/16 with no problems (yet) So I’m wondering if I was to go for a 9J ET20 (16”) 215/35/16 which would be 7.7mm closer to the suspension and stick out 17.7mm more than my current wheels would It touch the suspension I know it’s only 7.7mm closer but I have it pretty tight as it is so I’m worried it will rub ? any help would be much appreciated (Both setups are almost exactly the same height) (I don’t have camber shims) Link to the wheels https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3SDM-0-05-4x100-16-X-8J-ET25-WHITE-SET-OF-4-WHEELS-POLO-LUPO-ASTRA-CORSA/172127515795?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D81df90ffbc604af3890ba4bf421189c3%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D172127515795%26itm%3D172127515795&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A7583e87e-030c-11e8-9585-74dbd1809629%7Cparentrq%3A358388461610a688acfc609bffe2e415%7Ciid%3A1 thanks ?

  4. So! i thought it was about time i started posting on here instead of simply creeping... so ill start from the beginning. bought the loop close to 3 years ago, in a sorry state, but all the beauty of "bought not built" my apologies also for the mega long first post. so naturally i started into the cosmetic things before the mechanical... naturally the first thing was wheels, picked up a lovely set of bbs rms in fabulous condition for a steal, only problem being they are 7.5j and 8j. with the other whip and the mates 306 I know what you may be thinking... wide enough right? no sir... the front arches were rolled and the rears rolled and pulled heavily, using alot of *ahem* isopon. and for some reason i beliveved camber was necessary... after all that fuss was over the obligatory polishing and waxing frenzy began... then came the boot building.. rashest job you will ever see from the few pictures... who said max power was dead?
  5. right my other build thread has vanished my own fault realy not updating it too often but now im getting happier with the loop ill show her. how i bought it new sterio and upgraded fronts to hertz components detailed it for first time second set of wheels 15" ats cups sprayed theses look alot better now upgraded the alarm fitting theses soon looking for a wheel though

  7. I have a Seat Arosa 1.0 i have 40mm lowering springs on standard shocks and the camber of the front wheel is way out i have changed the lower arms which pushed it out and do not no what to do next? HELPPPP
  8. For some unknown reason I have acquired some serious positive camber on my front driver side! I don't wanna pay a garage to sort it out, cos I've heard it's easy to do! Can anyone give me some advice or how to's, I'd be veeerryy greatful! :-)
  9. Hey I was wondering if anyone could help me with any information regarding how much camber you get from different size washers? Or what people are using? Or doing differently? And how people are achieving camber on the front, I know you can change a bolt so it's smaller are there any other ways? Cheers Josh
  10. Hi Guys Need to know what you think could be the problem: Brought my Gti about 2/3 weeks ago knowing it needed work, one problem being that there appeared to be positive camber on the front nearside wheel. After replacing the Astra Sport Steels that were on there with the original Bathurst Alloys and a lower wishbone that was kinked at the wheel end, the camber is much better but still noticable. I thought it may have just been a camber bolt and plate adjustment but on closer inspection the top of the wheel is where is should be in reference to the other side. It therefore seems that the bottom of the wheel needs to come out. What could be causing this, its clear the previous owner has had a smack on a curb or something. I am also having the CV Joint replaced at some point as the boot is split and the joint is running dry. Some people have suggested bent subframe which I am praying is not the case. Any other suggestions? Thanks
  11. Wonder if anyone can help me, im looking to lower my lupo sport soon and looking to get some mini superlites or if any come up for sale some vw starlites, the plan is to lower it as much as i can and incase the wheels rub ill need to camber it. Ive seen if you have rear drums you use camber shims but the lupo sport has rear discs, how would you change camber on that? Is it the same as the front? some advice would be appreciated, thanks
  12. Hello all! am i right in thinking that when i get my tracking done nothing will be done to the back? my test is this week and im planning on adding camber as soon as i get a chance but need to get the tracking done. Will it matter if i get the tracking done before adding the camber or will it have to wait? Cheers
  13. Long Story Short; I have a 2000 1.7SDi and the other day one of the front springs went twang, So bish bash bosh i took the shocker out removed the old spring put the new one in and replaced it into the car, After this i noticed that the tracking seemed out when driving, as the steering wheel was no longer level to drive in a straight line, After this i took a look at the car and noticed an obscene amount of negative camber on the wheel. comparing this to the other wheel which is perfectly level at 90° to the horizontal i took the wheel off and investigated. and heres where the problem lies, the two bolt holes in the shocker, where the hub mounts to it, are elongated so theres a vast amount of play when the bolts are slack. And obviously the camber of the wheel is directly affected by where the hub is when you tighten the bolts. Anyway after much fannying about; getting the car level; checking the angle of the side i hadnt touched and making the one i had similar i've got the car looking normal and running straight again. i'm going to take the car in the get tracked and serviced anyway but i just wondered if anyone else had had this problem.
