  2. Very reluctant sale of my Arosa Sport due to a baby on the way. Good unmodified and low mileage example, posted here first in the hope of finding a new owner who will appreciate it. Make: Seat Model: Arosa Sport MOT: December (No advisories on last MOT) Engine size: 1.4 Fuel type: Petrol Mileage: 31,100 Registered: December 2004 Description including modifications: No modifications Good points: Very low mileage, excellent condition for it's age, interior very smart, owned for 8 years with no problems (Front disks and pads replaced 2013, EGR value replaced 2017) Less good points: Passenger side window does not open (common Arosa/Lupo fault), cracked driver side wing-mirror casing, large scratch and small dent on passenger side, due a service (major service June 2017), alloys scratched but in reasonable condition considering the age. Lewis' Soft Blue Lupo

So after owning my Lupo for just under a month, and after reading quite a few build threads, i have decided to do my own. She is a 02 reg, soft blue, 1.4 16v Lupo. My first car. So since owning her, shes been cleaned inside and out around 4 times and i havent had her a month yet! i mean... who likes to own a dirty car anyway? Any way, apart from all the cleaning i've done, i managed to take our the drivers side air vent, the seat handles and the binnacle and paint them gloss black. The binnacle didnt turn out as good as i expected because the lacquer started to run down and dried like it, but at least its gloss black now? primer... painted and fitted again... when i got the car, it only came with a passenger side seat handle, so i set to and ordered 2 brand new ones. found them on amazon if anyone else needs some? i also decided to remove and paint the covers that they slot into on the actual seat... and finally... i didnt want just gloss black air vents i decided to add a bit of a sparkle to it and added blue glitter! and fitted... heres one after i finished cleaning! i also got this through the post the other day, just need to remove my door cards then i can re trim them! sorry for such a long post, i'll be quiet for a bit now! what do you guys think?

    KEITHS DRAGON GREEN 1.4s

So I’ve been a member on here for a few months now, never really posted much. I bought the Lupo for £450, had a few mechanical problems, I broke the gearbox when I first started driving so had my dad sort that. I wasn’t really going to do much to the car as I didn’t really think I’d keep if for a long time. Slowly started adding stickers to the back and thought that’s all that I’d do as I didn’t think it was worth spending much on a £450 car. Here he is today, haven’t finished with him at all. I bought a few things and before I knew it he’s completely different to how he was when I first bought him. Haven’t really got many photos of the “in-between” stages. But he was a standard Lupo 1.4s. Nothing more, now he’s a little more exciting. So here he is just after I bought him. As standard as you can get. This is about half a year later, as you can see, quite a bit has changed. (Lowered, modded lights/ indicators , Tarantula alloys, wind deflectors, a load of other stuff I can’t think of.) Rear end, partially smoked and yellow tinted lights, wiper blank, stickers. Pressed plates. Splitter. Still a load to be done, spacers are on their way for the rears, fronts will then be done eventually, got some plans for the steering wheel to be changed and hopefully straight through exhaust at some point, body work needs some attention and the wheels need a good refurb. oh and here’s the gearstick and gator. Cherry/Pro Bomb fitted. Mainly bought for the fact it’ll annoy the people that live nearby. 25mm Rear Spacers fitted also. Still need to get passenger side rear wheel painted gold, along with returning the others.
  5. Selling my fantasia green Lupo, Alpie. Located in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Great 1.4 Auto drives well with 6 months MOT no advisories. paint work is a little rough around the edges but no rust. remote central locking and alarm installed and fully working. Interior is in good condition. Electric windows. The switch for the passenger window on the drivers side only brings the window up but not down but switch works perfectly fine on the passengers side. wing mirrors don't adjust from inside. Car is a great little runaround and will be sad to see it go. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. Mileage: 84576 Price: £850 Thanks. Jon

    1.4 Sport exhaust options?

I've just purchased a Lupo Sport 1.4 and I'm looking to do a back box delete, and hopefully add a race tube in the near future. Ideally, a sportex system is in my price range and I like the sound of those, however I don't know which ones will fit my SPORT model? Also if anyone has any links to a race tube or mid pipe for it please link! Cheers

    Lupo 1.4 tdi

Hello, Looking for a lupo 1.4tdi as a commuter. Only seen 1 on auto trader but it's in Scotland, so a little too far; (393 miles), to not know if it's any good. Live near Banbury but happy to travel 100+ miles for the right car. If the car has been maintained with FSH, i would be happy to buy one with around 150k miles on. Preferably no rust but I know these cars are getting on a bit. Thanks for looking.

    New Member

Hello fellow VW lovers ? New member here, hope you are all living the dream... I'm a Mk4 golf owner and I know this is a lupo forum but I have a little 1.4 Axp engine and interested in the mods you do to the little engines here. Currently I'm working on my car, valve job, clean up, tappets, timing belt kit and just looking around because I have her opened up and curious on what you are doing here ☺
  9. Hey guys, my first day on forum and post, so bare with me if im breaking some laws lol. I have a VW Lupo 1.4 2001 plate. I want to do a MAJOR service on it but want to be sure i buy all the proper and correct parts and tools, so if someone could answer my following questions would really appreciate it. 1) Spark plug change - What size spark plug socket is needed to remove the spark plugs / Does it need to be a deep socket or will regular size work? 2) Engine oil - What grade do i need / How many litres? / Bit of a toughh one but does anyone also know what VW specification number (usually on back of oil bottle) i should be using 3) Oil filter - appears to come with a hex adaptor attached to it (when looking at pictures) to help sockets remove it. does anyone know what size socket it is? 3) Oil sump nut - Does anyone know what size socket is needed for the bolt on the sump. If there are any tips or tricks people may want to warn me about when doing these jobs please feel free to help me making mistakes Sorry for all the questions but if anyone could help it would be great. thanks

    Misfireing issue

Hi , i bought a sport about 3/4 weeks ago, and last friday lost some power when coming home from work. Turns out cylinder 1 is misfireing, changed the plugs and leads and had no luck , i tried a few used coil packs and none of them fixed the issue. The car was loosing coolant but doesn't seem to burn any, no mayo on oil cap, if the car runs for 5 mins it struggles to start again or at all. A lot of white smoke is coming out of the crank breather that goes to the air filter, and a lot of oil on the filter. any ideas? Could it be the head gasket or something else? Like rings or valves? cheers
  11. Welcome to the build thread for my Lupo S 1.4 16v. To start with I picked the car up from Maidstone and drove it back to Colchester...Kinda... The alternator died on the way home and I lost power in the outside lane of the M25 I eventually got it home, and now it's been repaired I can start work on it! It's been a fustrating week planning the car out and not having it here to do anything to it. So first thing, the radio it came with is awful and the door speakers are blown... Down to Halfrauds and I did a buy! Fitted the Head Unit with no issues, just waiting on speaker adapters and some other bits in the post till my next update.

    Loopy the 1.4

So since it's my 18th today, i thought now would be a good time to introduce Loopy (Very original name, i know... ) I bought a soft blue 1.4 Lupo for my first car, and i just wanted to start my build thread as i have a lot of plans for it. First off, this is her: (sorry for the bad quality images. A better camera is in the works) I've started off with little things whilst I'm still getting used to the car: (The nasty looking plates are going...the DVLA spelt my name completely wrong on my ownership documents, so i have to wait for them to come back correct so i can get some nice pressed ones ) My dad is a big inspiration to me, and is just as excited for me to get my car as i am. He came to me and said "so when are you getting your coilovers so we can fit them?" Seeing as I've paid for everything off my own back so far, he helped me out with a few things: Pioneer stereo and pre-amped sub. I owe him a pint or two So far, I've gone as far as Wednesbury in her, and i have plans to travel to manchester too. I'm also really into bmx, so im very pleased that the seats fold down I purchased a HID Kit, and also new brake pads when it went through its MOT and they came up on the advisory along with a nearly bald tyre, of which caused me to replace all four. Its crazy how much of a difference there is in the brightness and clarity. I got some free LED sidelights in with the kit as a gift, and so fit them too: I have a few other things planned, but for now im happy with her and will be holding off on anything else for a little while. Some smaller updates will no doubt come through soon, but nothing major. Thanks for reading. Mylo
  13. Lupo 1.4 set of 4 original Lupo steel wheels required for new drivers car insurance. Will collect near London. Please help me!
  14. Soooo, I want to take out my coilovers and replace them with the originals or as near to them as possible. I was advised that the back ones could be taken out no problem and a replacement would not be needed but apparently the front strut and things will be needed to be changed or altered, I'm not sure what is needed to be done. I just want to take out both rear and front coilovers and get it back to sitting at normal height, what is needed to be done and bought thankyou!! Will other models of lupos have similar parts that I need? p.s it is a 1.4 vw lupo tdi sport 2003
  15. The day has come to sell my Arosa as I've now bought a new car. I've owned the car since November 2014 and covered approx 25k in it since. It also has a huge amount of receipts/past MOT's and the V5C in my name and the original 2 keys (one with locking buttons). Pictures here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seat-Arosa-Sport-100bhp-Big-spec-lots-of-upgrades-/142382581436? Spec is as below; - 1.4 100bhp sport AUB 109k - doesn't burn a drop of oil. - Custom Chrome exhaust cat back - Direnza stainless manifold - AP coilovers - 12 months old in perfect order. - Whiteline rear anti-roll bar - Rota GRA 15x6.5, rare now in 15' as they only make them in Subaru size now, with brand new rota caps (perfect condition refurbed in Jan) - Yokohama S Drives 195/45/15 - bought new when wheels were done - 20mm H&R rear spacers. - Momo 300mm, red stitching with a genuine boss and yellow horn button. - Kode red gear knob - Alpine CDE235bt Bluetooth stereo - Cambridge rear lights - Brembo discs front and back, green stuff pads (front) Brembo (rear) - Heko wind deflectors - Dash vents painted splash effect, they look nice (people always ask about them), but to be honest they're not the best finish. - Really decent rubber car mats Recent parts fitted, most/all will have a receipt... - New ignition leads (bigger and don't fit holder) - New battery - New coil pack - New tyres - S Drives - Brake light switch - Rear Brembo pads - Wishbones, ball joints & track rods - Tracking done at A-line with the printout. Serviced in my ownership every 5k with Castrol / Mobil 1 oil and decent parts - not all stamped but lots of receipts from Motorfators with the reg number for service parts. Last service was one was 2k ago. Bad bits... - Bodywork is tatty at the best. Loads of lacquer peel and about 7 shades of yellow. - Rear arches look like they were rolled by a blind person paint has cracked. also paint has flaked off around the rear number plate. - the lip on the sills on both sides are bent/damaged (used as a jacking point by someone), not really an issue but you can see it. - Windows have a mind of their own but always work, drivers one sometimes needs to be asked twice or need a hand halfway up. Passenger one opens only with passenger switch. - Rear right caliper sticks on slightly sometimes and can hear it, still stops as it should. - At some point, the engine light has been taped over, and it is on (can see it in the dark) because of exhaust lambda readings, but the car drives spot on. I also have lots of parts for lying around for it, that will come with the car if the buyer wants, including original seat 5 spoke alloys. Now I know roughly what this car will break for, but I don't have the time or can be bothered to do it. So grab a bargain on the whole lot. No swaps. CASH ON COLLECTION £750 ono
  16. First of all hi to all members of this club,i have readen so many topics of this forum, you are doing a great job. My name is John and i am from Greece, unfortunately not so much lupo-lovers there so not much info on our blogs/forums even mechanics. At this point before i ask you my questions i will ask you to forgive me for any language mistakes,i really try to use English correctly. I know from other topics you would suggest go sell your lupo s and buy a lupo gti,but in Greece there are no gti at all. There are 2-3 that are converted to 1.6 but no GTI at all and no 6speed gearboxes.I have readen many topics from this forum propably the most organised all over the world for lupo.Lupo used to be my favourite car as a kid and i bought one 1.4s as my first car. The seller tha was a common "friend" with a cousin of mine lied to us that it was a sport and i bought it...So because i really like this car i would really like to convert to 1.6,not so high insurance etc.I am not thinking at all 1.8/ So i have a lupo 1.4 s 75 bhp cable throttled (AKQ engine code) QUESTIONS 1)As much as i know the engine mounts are the same i will not need changing them right? 2)Gearbox will fit or i need one from polo?i would prefer short shifting not so much high speed 3)i would also like to keep cable throttle because its a bit more "aggressive"(cant think the right word to use) is that possible? 4)as much as i read things that are absolutely neccesary to do the convert are engine(mr. obvious from Greece xD),engine and interior loom, ecu and chip from key? 5)do i need driveshafts? 6)can i use for the start my old exhaust system until i have more money to go for a performance exhaust system? 7)one other question if i can fit the whole dashboard from a polo gti 6n2 because mine has some damage? 8)is something that i need not mentioned? 9)are there are many ecu options from 1.6?i mean are there ecu that can be chipped, remapped and some not? 10)Sorry for so much said and asked i tried to be accurate, really appreciate your work in this place, you are the craziest lupo lovers seen.Have seen some unbelievably nice projects around. thank you for reading and answering

  22. Hi all, Recently had a lot of stuff replaced after an MoT, mainly exhaust and emissions related, and now I have a clicking noise when I accelerate. I can accelerate more softly, and it isn't audible. However, if I accelerate normally, it's audible both in the car and outside. It didn't do this before the car went in for the MoT and repairs, and I'm curious. I've done a little research and come across the Evaporative Emissions Valve making a clicking noise, but if it didn't make it before, I don't understand why it is doing it now ? Thanks for any help in advance! Myles.

  24. First of all hello to everyone, I am new to this and will probably annoy most of you as I am sure this has been covered before. I I am in the middle of an engine swap, I have a 1.4s (75hp) and am looking to swap for what I believe to be a (100hp) 1.4 sport engine, this is out of my friends car and was a second engine to him so don't know much about it... Went to fit it yesterday to get it all hooked up (on my origional ecu) didn't fire no spark, then went to switch his ecu to find out it is totally different, so would I be able to just switch out the engine loom of his car (100hp engine) if so how do I go about doing this? Where does the loom go to? Thanks in advance Kyle

Mysterious black arosa stripe wtf is it?

Right so i was looking for a new car and i was going to be a right weirdo and buy an mx5 or an ibiza or something but i decided on this..i went to see the car and saw this massive black stripe down the side of the car, with two small stripes either side, was going to just peel it off when i got it home but now I'm not so sure...was just wondering has anyone else had or seen this on another arosa? Doesn't look like someone else has put it on and if they have it's a decent job..(i think so)...is there anyone out there seen this before? Curiousity is killing me..Can't find anything online..anyone know if it's standard or aftermarket?
