My Car Diary

Currently Driving

  1. So it's been a while since I've posted on ClubLupo. I think it was around 5 years ago now when I parted out my reflex silver 1.4 75hp, that was on air ride, with a 3L front, BBS Bugatti's and Work Meisters. It sure was a fun time and a great car that made me meet so many awesome people of which some I still speak to today. Here's a couple of how that Lupo was before I partied it out and sold it. Now the reason we're here. My fiance had always missed that Lupo, she did buy a 1985 Mazda 323 a few years ago, but due to Covid and life etc she didn't get round to getting her license and when we moved house the 323 sat there for 18 months as we didn't know what to do with it, it required too much welding to be worth it to us, afterall we pulled it out of a field for £500, drove it 20k miles and then parked it. So on our end, we had got our enjoyment out of it and had sold it on to someone who had 4 of them who is now getting it back on the road, good deed done there. She had been looking for quite sometime, originally she wanted a Cambridge as she fell in love with the colour, and having been to university in Cambridge she felt the need to have one. With the only one coming up on autotrader in that time being in Birmingham, she started to look for other unique and fun lookign combinations. And one day, she stumbled upon this 1.0 Yellow Open Air. A bit rough around the edges, but a large amount of history, been looked after by one family from new. And a numberplate that says WTF. Well, we almost couldn't pass it up, especially for what it was listed for. So we figured it would make a perfect first car & first real project for her. A small amount of body damage, but mostly carpark marks etc from over the years, nothing that can't be fixed. Tim, if you're reading this because you did say you looked at the Lupo forums occasionally. Thank you for looking after this Lupo for many years, I do hope you approve of what you see. From picking this Lupo up, half a lap around the M25 home, we started talking about the plans for it and where Sophien wanted to take it. With some notes scribbled down, a few links saved we started to have a direction. Now, Sophie has said she doesn't want to go in to deeply yet while she is still learning to drive properly. So for the most part the beginning will just be cleaning things up, repairs and a few cosmetic things.
  2. Does anyone have a decent o/s/f wing for a non-gti lupo, preferably in D1B Yellow. May also need a bonnet and a N/S door in yellow too. Thanks in advance!
  3. Selling as a whole for spares/repair - not breaking as not possible. Sad to be parting with this Lupo. Front sub frame has damage to it (palm sized hole and rust) advised too expensive to repair. Make: VW Model: Lupo SDI MOT: December 2018 Engine size: 1.7 Fuel type: Diesel Drives well. One lady owner since 2006. Serviced and looked after. Reliable, it has never failed to start. Yellow, 224,000 miles. Recent clutch and tyres. Cam belt 170,000. Rear axle replaced April 2014. Both door locks have failed. Damage to frame is the reason for sale. Location: Cornwall Price: £300 ono.
  4. VW Lupo 1.7 SDI Yellow Clean 9 Months MOT no advisories 1.7 Diesel 100,000 Miles Good runner. New brakes all round New clutch put in 2000 miles ago. Rough paintwork as bump strips were previously removed and not very well.. Was my wives car, used for popping into town and no longer need it. SOLD ONO
  5. This is my Volkswagen Lupo, it's a 3D 1L, 2003 painted yellow. This is what it looked like when I first bought it. However it did not stay the this way. My dad works in a garage on the island and so of course did some work on it for me. He painted the bumpers, fitted brand new gear cables, put four coats of polish on and a new grille, took out the dents and a few other bits and pieces. This is the finished piece, needless to say I love it, especially for a first car. Of course, being the lunatic that I am. I decided to go off-roading with a couple of my buddies. And I'm sure you're all aware that these cars are not mean't for driving off-road. I didn't cause too much damage, just smashed the rear brake light, and scraped some of the fresh new paint work. I am going to be repairing it after Christmas, in the meantime I'm getting a few appearance upgrades such as a new seat trims, possibly a black VW badge, and adding some more decals.
  6. The day has come to sell my Arosa as I've now bought a new car. I've owned the car since November 2014 and covered approx 25k in it since. It also has a huge amount of receipts/past MOT's and the V5C in my name and the original 2 keys (one with locking buttons). Pictures here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seat-Arosa-Sport-100bhp-Big-spec-lots-of-upgrades-/142382581436? Spec is as below; - 1.4 100bhp sport AUB 109k - doesn't burn a drop of oil. - Custom Chrome exhaust cat back - Direnza stainless manifold - AP coilovers - 12 months old in perfect order. - Whiteline rear anti-roll bar - Rota GRA 15x6.5, rare now in 15' as they only make them in Subaru size now, with brand new rota caps (perfect condition refurbed in Jan) - Yokohama S Drives 195/45/15 - bought new when wheels were done - 20mm H&R rear spacers. - Momo 300mm, red stitching with a genuine boss and yellow horn button. - Kode red gear knob - Alpine CDE235bt Bluetooth stereo - Cambridge rear lights - Brembo discs front and back, green stuff pads (front) Brembo (rear) - Heko wind deflectors - Dash vents painted splash effect, they look nice (people always ask about them), but to be honest they're not the best finish. - Really decent rubber car mats Recent parts fitted, most/all will have a receipt... - New ignition leads (bigger and don't fit holder) - New battery - New coil pack - New tyres - S Drives - Brake light switch - Rear Brembo pads - Wishbones, ball joints & track rods - Tracking done at A-line with the printout. Serviced in my ownership every 5k with Castrol / Mobil 1 oil and decent parts - not all stamped but lots of receipts from Motorfators with the reg number for service parts. Last service was one was 2k ago. Bad bits... - Bodywork is tatty at the best. Loads of lacquer peel and about 7 shades of yellow. - Rear arches look like they were rolled by a blind person paint has cracked. also paint has flaked off around the rear number plate. - the lip on the sills on both sides are bent/damaged (used as a jacking point by someone), not really an issue but you can see it. - Windows have a mind of their own but always work, drivers one sometimes needs to be asked twice or need a hand halfway up. Passenger one opens only with passenger switch. - Rear right caliper sticks on slightly sometimes and can hear it, still stops as it should. - At some point, the engine light has been taped over, and it is on (can see it in the dark) because of exhaust lambda readings, but the car drives spot on. I also have lots of parts for lying around for it, that will come with the car if the buyer wants, including original seat 5 spoke alloys. Now I know roughly what this car will break for, but I don't have the time or can be bothered to do it. So grab a bargain on the whole lot. No swaps. CASH ON COLLECTION £750 ono
  7. Hi, I'm new to Club Lupo but I've been driving my Yellow 1.4 petrol for 5 years now. I want to sell it. I'm moving and won't need a car where I'm going. Its got about 92,000 mileage partial service history and is in good condition. No rust, has had a new exhaust including CAT converter, new Cam belt, and I get it serviced every year. The only thing is, the driver side door lock has broken and no garage near me can get the parts. It locks and unlocks fine from the passenger side. It's bright yellow and has served me well. My question is, would anyone be interested in buying it? I got offered about £600 on a trade in. Anyone interested or any offers? Thanks Mike
  8. Hi everyone my names Kelly, I have a yellow Lupo 1.4s that I love dearly. However I've had it many many years now and I no longer have a need for a car. I wanted the car to go to a loved home. Someone who would give it some TLC that it needs and value it. I'm new to this club and am not actually sure if your allowed to sell cars on here so I apologise now if that's not allowed. Like I said I wanted to reach out to people who love lupos as much as me and who maybe wanted a new project to work on. If anyone's interested in purchasing it please get in touch and we can talk more about it. Best wishes.
  9. Hello! I am from Romania. I recently bought an pretty nice Lupo. It has 145k km mileage, 1.0 petrol engine, code ANV. since 2001. I have many things in mind for my car. Right know it has some bad parts, but one day it will shine . I will start some new topics about different things I don't know. Have a nice day!

  15. I apologise firstly, if this topic is in the wrong place. Does anyone have a step - by - step guide/ quick worded guide on how to remove the indicator panel; I've tinted my indicators with yellow tint film, without removing the panel; there's a huge crease on one side where I could wrap it around the light lens properly. I want to do it again properly. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  16. I bought this mk2 arosa for £500 except it had a gearbox problem After we just about managed to get it home we decided to strip the gearbox We found out that it was the 5th gear needle roller bearing that had broke This is what it should look like This is what it actually looked like Anyway bought myself a set of wheels but can't fit them yet till my spigot rings arrive Just got some AP coilovers on order and the car will be sent of to paint more photos coming when it's running again
  17. Ive spotted a yellow lupo with a sticker bomb back passenger side. Black wheels, low to floor and yellow headlights (tint)
  18. Hello, This is my little Arosa s, 2003. The first day I got it ... It has some bad points, the paint has faded (milky lacquer), some peel on the roof and has had a bump on the bumper... So once it was home, t-cut, polish and wax + removing the bump strips Got a new head unit, and a tiny aerial.. no pictures though.. So after a few weeks of hunting on gumtree and trying to save money for a set of wheels, I finally got a set! I managed to get them for £90, shame there wasn't any tyres. Still cant fit them because of this! Anyway, some more gumtree searching, and I picked up a set of lowering springs 40mm and wind deflectors for £55! Which was fitted today Boyfriend and his brother doing the work And after! Isn't an awful lot lower, but much better and affordable! And, only placing the wheels to get an idea how they'll look... So that's it for today, until next week when I hope to get tyres... Any feedback is welcome!! Thanks, Sarah
  19. Hi guys, got a 53 plate Arosa mk2 recently and was wondering if any of you have any ideas I could use to make it look a bit better?

I have a 1.4 yellow Lupo named Lenny (Leonard if/when he crashes) and I love him So far I've removed the little rear badges, the rear windscreen wiper have replaced my aerial with a tiny one. As you may have noticed I'm not so good with the technical stuff. I have big plans for my Lupo but will need a lottttttt of assistance from my boyfriend and hopefully everyone on here. Photos will follow later x

I have bought my car in September and after doing few mods decided to make my first build thread So it is a yellow Seat Arosa Sport some pictures of my car when I got it (Debadged it pretty much straight away) : before: after: After few weeks I bought some cheap coilovers from Belgium (drunked at the time) : sorry for crap quality pictures. fitting them with my mate : some more: Didn't like the calipers so a bit of job on spraying them : Ment to be slighlty different colour, but nevermind : Sprayed mine manifold cover dark red : HID's time : Also bought some better Induction kit then a K&N : quality is horrible and piping is not in line, but all sorted now just didn't had time to make some more pictures Then my cambridge lights arrived ( hated the pizza lights ) : so i set to work : I didnt mentioned my sub, just a vibe I bought it cheap (ex-display ) One side done, car was dirty as it's raining 24/7 and both sides done : spoiler came in ( not fitted yet waiting for payday ) some stickers : got my wheels, nearly ready for primer : tyres arrived (bloody currier nearly gave them to my nextdoor nebour ! : 165/50/15 R Bridgestone potenza on 7j so only a small stretch. Also I have choosen colour for my alloys : It's a porsche graphite metallic And that about it for now, can't wait to have my alloys back and on the car, need to order my light unit for spoiler from Lupoboz ( very good guy tbh), hopefully some updates soon. 24. Make: Volkswagen Model: Lupo 1.0 Year/Reg: 2000 X reg Mileage: 75000 MOT: 12 Months MOT Tax: 12 Months or can be taken off and price reduced accordingly Good points: Very reliable Lupo which is not only low cost on tax and insurance but is incredibly cheap to run. Never let us down and only selling because we are looking for a little polo. We bought the car two years ago, and has just passed its MOT with NO advisories, the car is very solid. Perfect if you’re looking for a daily runner or just a fun Volkswagen. Comes with 12 months Tax too, or if you like this can be taken off and price adjusted. Comes with a Rieger styling kit which really works with the car and is colour coded. Lowish mileage for the age. RH Cup alloy wheels and suspension springs were replaced last year with brand new -40mm replacements. Bad points: Side skirts and rear bumper have cracks, you can see them in the pictures. One small ciggy burn in the driver’s seat. Headliner is a bit grubby but could easily be cleaned out. Location: Birmingham Pictures: Price: £1500 or very near offer Contact details: 07905 825628
