he currently own a 1.4 vw lupo sport in red and was wondering what rims to get got a budget of about £250 - £375 was thinking about some ronal turbos but advice would be great thanks.

just brought my 1st car which is a volkswagen lupo E 1.0L. am over the moon with it but was just wondering if anyone knew why the passenger wing mirror is a bit smaller than the drivers wing mirror? is this standard for all lupos? cheers

Whats up everyone, I've decided on the wheels that I want, I'm going for a set of silver Axe EX8's 15" x 8". My problem though is tyre's. I don't know the first thing about stretching so i wanted to know what size tyre would go well with a nice amount of stretch, I'm thinking 195/45/15. Has anyone got any pics of something simlar? Like 1j thinner than the wheels? Any help is appreciated! Thanks everyone!

I have recently purchased a 2000 vw lupo 1.7 s sdi and the passenger door is missing the door handle pull is snapped and I was looking to replace it, it's the grey colour plastic handle If anyone has an ideas where I could purchase one? Or if anyone has a spare could they let me know please? Thanks

Hi, so i'm looking to buy some coilovers and have been looking around at different ones and this is some that I have found in the budget range :- Jom Coilovers £189 Fk Ak Street £185 Ta Technix £189 then into the higher price being :- Ap Coilovers (straight from AP) £385 Fk Highsport £355 There are probably many others around but I have hear some bad reviews about different ones, was wondering if to spend a bit on some expensive ones or just get budget coilovers and if so what ones. Hello Ive bought my first ever VW lupo, its a 1.4 16v auto and i love it! However, I was driving it normal london conditions - i.e Standstill traffic and the water sign started flashing and the temperature needle had hit 110. Im seriously hoping the gasket isnt blown, i doubt it is as the coolant is a normal colour and there is so far no loss of oil When i bought the car it used to run a little cool but i assumed it may have been missing a thermostat. To be honest, after all the overheating issues ive experienced in BMW's i wasnt that bothered if it ran a little cool. I've lost no coolant and no oil. There was no steam being released from anywhere. It feels like the electric fan didnt kick in either but im not 100% sure of this. Seeing as how I have enough oil and coolant, im thinking the thermostat, fingers crossed theres one in there has failed. the hose pipes going to the electric fan ispiping hot, the return pipe or lower pipe is cooler, this is leading me to believe the thermostat is stuck in the closed position and not allowing the water to travel? When i drove with the heating on full blast i got hot air so i know its not a bleeding issue. im thinking of taking the thermostat out for the time being and leaving it out, can i cause any harm doing this for a short while? plus can anybody how to to actually take the stat out? im guessing i squeeze the clip, take the pipe off and the stat should just be there. By the way if i squeeze the clip do I ned to replace the clip or can i stick on a jubilee clip should i need one? Plus once i open it up do i need to bleed the system again? Can anyone please direct me to the bleed valve as well? Any help is much appreciated Ta

Hi there guys, I recently bought r32 heated leathers for my Lupo which came with the loom and also the mk4 golf switches which fit the later Lupo dash. My Lupo has the earlier dash which means that these switches will not fit. Then I stumbled on a pair of the switches on ebay and bought them to find out that the connectors on the rear are completely different to those of mk4 switches so i cant connect the loom up to the switches. Is there any chance i can purchase connectors for the earlier switches from anywhere therefore allowing me to mod the loom to fit them or have i got to buy another loom that will fit into the connectors? Abit of a dilemma really haha but yeah any help would be appreciated, here are some pictures of what i have: Loom which i recieved with seats MK4 switches/connector Lupo Early dash switches/Connector

hi everyone, im new to the vw lupo, just bought one to try fix up, not bothered about how much its gonna cost to fix, its a project so heres my problems i have a similar problem as a previous post - Gearbox problems [uPDATED] Leaking! pics! ** same pics as this person but no putty stuff on mine also ** when i try to select a gear it doesnt work, only 3rd and 4th work if i try to select 1st, it then slides into the centre into 3rd if i try to select 2nd, it then slides into the centre into 4th i noticed the gear selector rod under the car, the socket had worn and the person had just cable tied it on got a new bit but still the same problem if you drive the car you can move off in 3rd, i have it up on ramps with the front bumper off at the moment so i can access it a bit better, im gonna remove the exhaust system next to get access to the gear selector cables as this might be my next part to check before replacing the gearbox i have the elsawin software for reference when taking the car apart please if anyone could help me get it touch cheers dave

Ok, so I brought some brake discs for my 1.4 16v thinking they were 240mm, however they turned out to be 256mm! I filtered the parts for my REG and it said that they would fit, and from a very quick read online apparently I will be able to fit the 256's. Can anyone confirm this so I don't have to go and buy some 240's now? Thanks from Lewis

Does the Speedo on a lupo 1.0 go off the wheel or the transmission? If I put bigger wheels on will they effect my the speedo?

Hi help! I want to change from five stud wheels to four stud wheels, what would be the best way? Would VW Lupo/Polo hubs fit straight onto VW Fox ones?

I am looking at buying some pioneer speakers for the front doors. What are there size? What do i need? How do i replace them (i've heard something about rivets or something and an adapter)?

I'm looking for a gti spoiler but can't seem to find one. Is the Rieger spoiler any good? Does it have a gap between the roof and the spoiler? Also what do you do to the brake light if you put one on? And is it easy to fit?

Okay so heres my first car. I bought her in January. She came, de-badged with front arches rolled. Tires were bald so got new boots all round. She came with wheel trims but after ripping them off to change tyres i realised she'd look alot nicer without the tacky things. The engine was absolutely disgusting inside and dutterssssssss. So i got a paintbrush and some gum remover and made her all fresh. slammed in some new blue sidelights Then i decided it was time to make my steelies look a little nicer... Got myself some smooth hamerite and a brush and gave them a touch up after sanding. Got some center caps from the local Scrap yard and im really happy with how they've turned out. Now heres some stuff i've put together... More stuff planned for the near future, Black roof soon! Thanks, Sam

Been trying to figure out how to get the positive wire from the sub through to the battery, can't see anywhere too ease the wire through to the battery, any ideas -

I have just installed a air induction kit on my lupo and there are 3 pipes left uncapped. I think they are called oil breathers and have very little use but to reduce pollution. Is there anyway of capping them because I've heard oil vapour comes out of them aswell as carbon monoxide? Also I've heard a catch tank can be used and filters to reduce pollution. Any ideas???

Ok, so I find the standard headrests in the Lupo are EXTREMELY uncomfortable, does anyone know if the headrests from a 6n2 will fit? Thanks from Lewis
