  1. My son's 2004 VW Lupo TDI failed its MoT due to the drivers seat not locking in position. I've had a quick look and it looks like the mechanism is parting due to a missing circlip/c clip/washer - local garage quoting £250 for a repair including £65 for replacement assembly but can;t justify the cost. I've PM'd another chap who seems to have had a similar issue a couple of years ago with his Seat Arosa. Any ideas on where I might get a replacement clip/washer - it looks the sort of thing which should costs pennies but I may be underestimating the issue. Any other advice/suggestions welcomed.
  2. so i recently bought myself a 1998 Arosa and well the car is F***** passed an M.O.T with some welding and bulbs however i started to realise the gearbox was getting stiffer and alot harder too get in too gear,i had the selectors check and there fine, clutch is fine too,so before i go out and buy a whole new box,im praying someone could maybe shed some light on it? cheers guys
  3. Right so i was looking for a new car and i was going to be a right weirdo and buy an mx5 or an ibiza or something but i decided on this..i went to see the car and saw this massive black stripe down the side of the car, with two small stripes either side, was going to just peel it off when i got it home but now I'm not so sure...was just wondering has anyone else had or seen this on another arosa? Doesn't look like someone else has put it on and if they have it's a decent job..(i think so)...is there anyone out there seen this before? Curiousity is killing me..Can't find anything online..anyone know if it's standard or aftermarket?
  4. For sale is my 1998 Seat Arosa 1.0 MPi in black, reluctant sale due to needing a bigger car and no way to keep 2! The car was owned by my Grandmother from new and I aquired it in 2013 with only 18,000 miles on the clock. The car now has 33,160 miles (may rise slightly). Main upgrades/work done to car: -Supplying dealer fitted 15" alloys professionally refurbished and fitted with Dunlop BluResponse tyres all round -Philips headunit with USB, AUX and Bluetooth -Cambelt, waterpump and tensioners replaced at 18,430 miles -Gauge install in cubby hole (can be turned off or removed) -EU approved towbar and electrics -Original Seat mudguards The car has 2 keys and an alarm fitted by the supplying dealer which includes remote central locking. The car also has factory electric windows and the original Seat floor mats. The V5 is present along with extensive service history and the MOT which expires 20/01/2017. I serviced the car last month and the car has recently been detailed/protected with sealant. In terms of mechanicals and interior, the car really is in immaculate condition. The black exterior is certainly respectable, as the car often attracts comments about how looks far newer than it is. The car is located in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire but Audlem, Cheshire can be arranged. Price: £750 http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/will_cooper2/media/DSC03560_zps2xclsnxq.jpg.html[/img] http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/will_cooper2/media/DSC03707_zpsdrkpptch.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4[/img] http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/will_cooper2/media/DSC03706_zpswbvfxej4.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5[/img] http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/will_cooper2/media/DSC03705_zpssjkahbc0.jpg.html?sort=3&o=6[/img] http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/will_cooper2/media/DSC03563_zpsvdnum7ye.jpg.html?sort=3&o=9[/img] http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/will_cooper2/media/DSC03712_zpsgkvh7b1b.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0[/img] http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/will_cooper2/media/DSC03709_zpsz0o7my8k.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2[/img] If you require any further information or photographs please get in touch. 6. Hi, The battery light keeps flashing on the dashboard of my 1.0l SEAT Arosa and then the battery runs dead after a few days, sometimes less than a few days if driving just in the day with no lights on. I am unsure on why it is doing it, as I have changed the alternator and bought a new battery. I have had a mechanic and an auto electrician look at it and they are clueless. Any ideas? Thank you!

  9. Hello everybody, I am from Slovenia and excuse my english... So I'm quite new to this forum (two months or less). I got my Arosa 1.0 1997 two months ago and it was my grandmas. She drives a Clio and I got Arosa. It is 17 years old but engine is in very good condition. Grandma did only about 46000 miles. It needed some love and so it started. This week it is in shop for some bodywork (front and back bumper, some rust repair and pro machine polish) Right side Left side Front bumper Week before I took off all badges and side bump strips Side strip I bought some new tyres (PETLAS VELOX SPORT PT711 185/55/14) Bought Enzo Cup wheels that previous owner scratched on pavement...and they are being fixed... Then I had some fun with PlastiDip spray but i figured out that PlatiDip isn't very good solution for handles because of touching and it starts peeling off on edges. So bought black laquer spray for plastic and now it is okay... I did speaker grill and vent with PlastiDip and for that it is okay because you don't touch it too often... After it comes from the shop it will get LOWTEC HiLOW 9.1 coilovers and brembo discs and pads... Coilovers are ordered and are coming from Germany... Few weeks ago some pro shop did my door speakers (Focal R-165S2) and a headunit (KENWOOD KMM-BT35). This is all for now... Plans for future: - oval speakers in the back (Focal probably) - lower the car...not too much, have to see how it seats on new wheels and tyres... - new brake drums... -i would like to get Ronal Turbo or ATS CUP wheels and Enzo Cup for winter... so a few new things that peaked my interest: - exchange interior and plate lights to LED, - exchange headlights to Philips H4 X-treme vision, - change to Cambridge lights ro just plain Lupo's, - paint calipers and drums...
  10. Arnold the Arosa Sport! Found on Gumtree one afternoon for a very good price so made the hour and a half journey and brought the little gem! Car was listed on Gumtree with a 'gearbox problem' and in need of TLC which was no problem as price was low enough and I wont be driving it until October 2014.
  11. Just bought my first car, A black Arosa S. Any suggestions on what I could do to it? Wheels that look good etc.. 8)
  12. Hi guys I'm new to the forum and thought I'd create a thread for "Rosie" the Arosa who I purchased on Sunday, she only has 35k miles on the clock! Not bad for an old girl eh? This car is actually for my girlfriend when she passes which I hope will be soon, not sure what to do with her yet, obviously lows and new rims in the not to distance future, can anyone think of anything else?

  14. Hi guys, just taken out my ETD gearbox from a 1.4s Lupo, had lots of trouble trying to get a new box, but ive come across a Seat Ibiza box from a 1.4, bell housing is exactly the same, just wondered if it would be okay to fit? Bought it, and had it serviced, bloke said it was mint, just wondering what the gear ratios are on the Lupo, and if it would run okay? Cheers
  15. I have just brought a seat arosa with standard wheels and alloys, I'm looking to change my alloys but keep the wheels if possible, how do I know if the alloys will fit my car (seat arosa 03) Thanks ?
  16. For some unknown reason I have acquired some serious positive camber on my front driver side! I don't wanna pay a garage to sort it out, cos I've heard it's easy to do! Can anyone give me some advice or how to's, I'd be veeerryy greatful! :-)
  17. Hi, my first car is a 1 litre Seat Arosa Mk2 in red, 02 reg with 110000 on the clock. I've been wondering how I can make it look better without throwing loads of money at it. Any ideas? Also I want a front grille centre piece without the S badge, any ideas where I will get one? Cheers.
  18. Hi, does anybody know someone who is breaking an arosa mk2? Looking for interior parts such as door cards, handles, gear knob gaiter, ect. Or just general parts!
  19. Hey There! Seems a bit of a silly question, but i've been having difficultly trying to locate a replacement mk1 surround for the grill on the front, as the clips are broken, so one side always pops out! it looks as though the lad who had it before has tried to superglue it back on! When i go on amazon/ebay to try and find one all i can get hold of is the actual grill itself not the surround, i've tried multiple scrap yards either they dont have any arosas at all or one side of the surround is broken aswell! What would be the best way to try get my hands on one, colour is no object!
  20. I'm looking to reline my headliner in my Arosa, has anyone any pictures of their relined headliners and is it easy, what glue to use etc? Also wanting to reline my door cards and I have no idea where to start, is there any how to's on here or Youtube? Any information will be highly appreciated thanks in advance!
  21. Say hi to Poppy I'm going to use this topic to post progression pictures. So this is Poppy. My first car, bought on 1st December 2013. Not a lot of progress so far, other than a full exhaust replacement as she came with a bit of a bodge job exhaust system. Other than that, just the debadged grill and a bit of sticker bombing in the interior a long with a stereo replacement.. She is my absolute pride and joy and has so much potential, I have a few things in mind such as coil overs, alloys etc. and possibly a colour coded splitter then just a few details of the interior. I'm also getting a boot build with two 10 inch subs and an amp but I'm not sure how well that's going to go yet due to the shoe box sized boot :')
  22. Car is a 1L Seat Arosa, 2003. 66k miles.. This knocking noise was a slight problem before, but after a service I told that it was OK. Have just done about 800 miles in a week as was away in England, and first day back and the car sounds like a diesel in idle. When I push the clutch pedal in, it sounds normal, and runs good. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong??
  23. Well... I'm back. Since my Arosa sport I've had an Octavia mk1 1.9tdi 108ps, a Seat Ibiza FR mk3 pd130. Now I've decided to come back to the Arosa/Lupo Club but with the 1.4 tdi. Couldn't pass up the chance of £30 a year road tax, great fuel economy and cheap insurance, especially being self employed. Bought it last Thursday (02/01/2014), already changed the rear lights for standard Lupo's and wired the rear fogs and reverse lights. I'll be looking to purchase a full interior if anyone is selling, as the one fitted is gray and stained. And bumpers, maybe sport ones but I'm not too fussed, I do miss having front fogs already though . Problems I've found so far:Driver door dropped (replace hinges?)Illumination on the heater controls not workingFloppy accelerator (I fixed this before, loose bolt on the acc pot)Electric window switches totally knackered (fixed this before too, rebuild the switches)Windows roll up and down incredibly slowMid speakers do not work at allTweeters crackle and cut outRear bumper cracked (probably replace)Body damage on most panels (probably live with it)Few rust patches (Sand back and spray)Dirty stained grey interior (needs replacing)Curbed alloys (may be changing wheels anyway)Starter motor runs on after startingBrakes feel odd, spongy and wheel wobbles when braking hard. (warped discs? air in system?)Tracking looks outRear offside spring has shattered (want to lower anyway)Key gets stuck in lock when locking the doorRemote fob doesn't work, red LED never illuminates (I'll have to buy a couple more from ebay)Mats need replacingAlterations done so far: Rear lights replaced for Red Lupo onesLED map lightSprayed a bunch of Oust inside it
  24. I'm new here so I was just going to introduce myself. I'm in the Peterborough area if anyone's seen my driving around, I've just bought a black seat arosa 1.4 16v sport as a first car. I'm here for inspiration for my car, I'm looking for mods I can do that won't affect my already crazy high priced insurance for young drivers. I'm looking to soon get a set of baby g60 steelies and then after my years no claims is done (touch wood) throw some coil overs on to get her low. This place seems pretty cool to communicate with people who are as passionate about there cars as I am.
  25. Hello, This is my little Arosa s, 2003. The first day I got it ... It has some bad points, the paint has faded (milky lacquer), some peel on the roof and has had a bump on the bumper... So once it was home, t-cut, polish and wax + removing the bump strips Got a new head unit, and a tiny aerial.. no pictures though.. So after a few weeks of hunting on gumtree and trying to save money for a set of wheels, I finally got a set! I managed to get them for £90, shame there wasn't any tyres. Still cant fit them because of this! Anyway, some more gumtree searching, and I picked up a set of lowering springs 40mm and wind deflectors for £55! Which was fitted today Boyfriend and his brother doing the work And after! Isn't an awful lot lower, but much better and affordable! And, only placing the wheels to get an idea how they'll look... So that's it for today, until next week when I hope to get tyres... Any feedback is welcome!! Thanks, Sarah
