This is my Volkswagen Lupo, it's a 3D 1L, 2003 painted yellow. This is what it looked like when I first bought it. However it did not stay the this way. My dad works in a garage on the island and so of course did some work on it for me. He painted the bumpers, fitted brand new gear cables, put four coats of polish on and a new grille, took out the dents and a few other bits and pieces. This is the finished piece, needless to say I love it, especially for a first car. Of course, being the lunatic that I am. I decided to go off-roading with a couple of my buddies. And I'm sure you're all aware that these cars are not mean't for driving off-road. I didn't cause too much damage, just smashed the rear brake light, and scraped some of the fresh new paint work. I am going to be repairing it after Christmas, in the meantime I'm getting a few appearance upgrades such as a new seat trims, possibly a black VW badge, and adding some more decals.

VW Lupo 1.7 SDI Yellow Clean 9 Months MOT no advisories 1.7 Diesel 100,000 Miles Good runner. New brakes all round New clutch put in 2000 miles ago. Rough paintwork as bump strips were previously removed and not very well.. Was my wives car, used for popping into town and no longer need it. SOLD ONO

hi there in order to change the xenon bulb on a Lupo GTI does the bumper have to come off? or is possible without removing it -thanks

Have 1.0l vw lupo. From left indicator bulb gone. Which bulb to buy and replace? Had many offers to help replace but no one knows which bulb to buy

I've had a look on the forum and I just want to know if its even worth getting an induction kit.. I'm not fussed about hp gain as it's hardly going to increase widly. Just want to know if its worth getting the average kit for a bit more grunt sound without any heat problems ( too close to engine)

Hi , i bought a sport about 3/4 weeks ago, and last friday lost some power when coming home from work. Turns out cylinder 1 is misfireing, changed the plugs and leads and had no luck , i tried a few used coil packs and none of them fixed the issue. The car was loosing coolant but doesn't seem to burn any, no mayo on oil cap, if the car runs for 5 mins it struggles to start again or at all. A lot of white smoke is coming out of the crank breather that goes to the air filter, and a lot of oil on the filter. any ideas? Could it be the head gasket or something else? Like rings or valves? cheers

Hi recently revived my dead lupo 1.4tdi and started to drive it, after a while the wipers and indicators stopped working wondered if anyone has a wiring diagram so I could look into it tonight?

Well I suppose it had to happen sometime; after many years of fault-free service our TDi has finally decided to throw a fit. After an uneventful drive to work yesterday (to dodge the train strike), when I started up to go home I was met with a fair amount of vibration, and a noise that sounded like a mini tractor. There were no warning lights, and there was no sign of belt damage, obvious leaks or split hoses, and the coolant looked clean and the correct level. It's a 54 Reg TDi Sport with a measly 82,000 miles on the clock and we've owned from 18 months old. Any ideas before I throw myself on the mercy of someone who knows what they're doing? And when I get there, does anyone recommend a specialist in or around Leeds?

Hello First time posting here, Ive been told that the AUB cylinder head can be used to build the popular AFH/AVY hybrid, I understand the cams and pulleys are different, I have built the engine and tried to turn it over, my lupo sport originally had an AUB unit but the engine seized so I used the head to build my hybrid which is AUB/AVY as I was told it would run with a map. The engine turns over but struggles on the compression stroke, as if the starter is weak but I checked it and it is fine. I am wondering if anyone has built a hybrid either using the AUB or AFK successfully and if I could ask them some questions to sort some teething issues I am currently experiencing myself.

We are now aware that Haynes do not do a Lupo manual so, based on your experience, which manual most closely matches your Lupo? Polo, Golf, Fox or Up? Our's is a 2004/5 1.0 Many thanks, N & J

New snowflakes, what do you think? Also what other mods could I do that are reasonably cheap but give the car a completely different look, was thinking about getting some Genuine VW mudflaps and wind deflectors.

Hi guys, I'm doing a project for my final year dissertation and I'm in desperate need of a power run data sheet for a STANDARD 2001 1.0L 49BHP VW LUPO. I'm looking at integrating a water injection system to the engine to reduce NOx emissions, I need the power run data to see what power(kw) the car is producing at certain speeds, without this info I won't be able to calculate the maximum water the engine can take in before it starts knocking or before it hydro-locks. Maybe one of you guys had your Lupo on the dyno and have a pic of the power run? I'd be grateful. Cheers

Ended up buying my old 1.0e lupo back! For the grand price of £100 with a thermostat issue. (Which I've now fixed) rather than F about trying to make a 1.0 go faster, I've decided to push myself and go for a 1.8T, now I know a few people have done this already so really I'm just looking for some guidance on what I'll need (engine mounts, master cylinder, gearbox, driveshafts, ECU, loom, code of the engine) in essence the essential to have it up and running. the car is currently on FK coilovers, banded staggered steelies, and the back completely stripped! Just fitted the new red trim to my little Lupo grill! I'm loving the results wasn't hard to do just a little fiddly when making sure it was all on correctly!
