  1. Bought my first car last month, a silver 1L Lupo. Here's a picture of the car when i first got it http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d148/danielcombe17/Mobile%20Uploads/2AE47718-62C6-47C6-A9AE-BC2FE7186125_zps33yk7gm4.png This is how the car looks now http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d148/danielcombe17/Mobile%20Uploads/E74E6F49-C0A6-4C20-8CA5-EE754735169A_zpsbl4v7zd9.jpg
  2. Say hi to Poppy I'm going to use this topic to post progression pictures. So this is Poppy. My first car, bought on 1st December 2013. Not a lot of progress so far, other than a full exhaust replacement as she came with a bit of a bodge job exhaust system. Other than that, just the debadged grill and a bit of sticker bombing in the interior a long with a stereo replacement.. She is my absolute pride and joy and has so much potential, I have a few things in mind such as coil overs, alloys etc. and possibly a colour coded splitter then just a few details of the interior. I'm also getting a boot build with two 10 inch subs and an amp but I'm not sure how well that's going to go yet due to the shoe box sized boot :')
  3. Hello, I am new to this and joined as I need help with my Lupo, My EGR Valve is stuck! I have took out all the screws and Bolts I believe that are holding it on, but it wont budge can anyone tell me how to get this to move? There are 2 more screws below the EGR Valve that are hard to access but I don't know if these need to come off! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also if anyone can put pictures of the EGR Valve from there lupo on the website that could also help me. Thanks
  4. Hey, i'm new here literally just signed up an hour or so ago. I'm 17 and got myself a one liter 52 plate lupo se for my first car. After a little bit of reading forums on here i decided to post my own. I'm a noob at all this stuff and as i'm 17 money is quite tight looking for preferably cheaper things I'm looking for some modifications to do? I've read about removing the bump strips - but couldn't find a good forum for it? Anyway i'm looking for some do's and don'ts. Cheers Kailum
  5. Hello guys and girls this is my first post on here so sorry in advance if its a bit crappy. i actually bought lucy in april this year but hadn't past my test until the end of august. it took me so long to post on here because i didn't think there was any point due to not having any modifications but loads of people are doing it so why no eh? May i introduce you to lucy the lupo http://www.flickr.com/photos/106892742@N02/sets/72157637047372176/ Bought her at 101000 miles with only a leaky shock which i got fixed the next week. she's only a 1.0l but she's got a heart of gold, doesn't put a foot wrong over the past few months i haven't really done much, just kept her as clean as time will allow as i am a full time student. at first i painted the badge surround neon pink (don't ask). it looked tacky from day one i don't know what i was thinking. a couple weeks ago i paint the surround gloss black as trying to rub it down to bare plastic was gonna be difficult with some of the angles. i removed the bump strips which took like two days because some of the glue was properly hard to get off. I think since I've bought her i think the biggest mod I've done is the cupholder/coin tray. bought it off ebay for about £20 with out a single mark on it. was well chuffed as i had been hunting for one since pretty much the day i bought it. yes i know the rear head rests are missing i removed them so i could actually see decent out my rear window. i couldn't seem to get into a position that would allow me to see behind me comfortably so they're sitting in a cupboard somewhere as i never have anyone in the back anyway. for sale or swap if anyones interested thought i doubt anyone will be as they are the infamous hoop version. message me if you are interested though, heck message me even if your not. could do with some people to familiarise myself with being my first post and all. If you've made it through all of that then my question is what cheap mods would people recommend that would make this car a little nicer without having to declare it to my insurance. Not looking to do anything big just little details. thank you for reading this and again sorry if the post was a little (or a lot) crappy. my grammar and punctuation are also not brilliant i am aware of this i have slight dyslexia so don't hate.
  6. Hello, This is my little Arosa s, 2003. The first day I got it ... It has some bad points, the paint has faded (milky lacquer), some peel on the roof and has had a bump on the bumper... So once it was home, t-cut, polish and wax + removing the bump strips Got a new head unit, and a tiny aerial.. no pictures though.. So after a few weeks of hunting on gumtree and trying to save money for a set of wheels, I finally got a set! I managed to get them for £90, shame there wasn't any tyres. Still cant fit them because of this! Anyway, some more gumtree searching, and I picked up a set of lowering springs 40mm and wind deflectors for £55! Which was fitted today Boyfriend and his brother doing the work And after! Isn't an awful lot lower, but much better and affordable! And, only placing the wheels to get an idea how they'll look... So that's it for today, until next week when I hope to get tyres... Any feedback is welcome!! Thanks, Sarah
  7. Wondering if anybody could help. My 1 litre Lupo loses power when the engine gets hot, had the car scanned and it came up with a fault with the knock sensor. Fitted a new knock sensor, scanned again and no faults came up, however the car still loses power when the engine gets hot. It runs fine cold but loses power whenever the engine starts to get a little warm. Its a 2000, with around 110k on the clock. Also the exhaust is blowing just before the back box, doubt this would be causing it but i have no idea Any suggestions would be awesome
  8. Right, basically I like the body shape of the GTI, but I'm 17 and, for obvious reasons, would not be able to afford GTI insurance. A weird idea I had (which would probably end up worse off... who knows lol) was if I picked up a Gti with a knackered engine, and a 1.0 with a knackered body and dumped the 1.0 engine in the Gti Body what would the insurance think? (Or I could even just get a Gti, purchase a 1.0 engine&box for a few hundred squid to drop in and over time do bits of work on the 1.6 for when I'm older, have some ncb and can insure it lol.) Would I get away with a price that's maybe a bit more than a 1.0 or one that's more than a Gti! Sounds silly I know but it'd be a decent little project I guess please don't hate<3
  9. 10. Hello, I'm new to this forum, and was hoping to share my Seat Arosa, although I cant seem to figure out to put a picture up! Cheers

  13. hi everyone, im new to the vw lupo, just bought one to try fix up, not bothered about how much its gonna cost to fix, its a project so heres my problems i have a similar problem as a previous post - Gearbox problems [uPDATED] Leaking! pics! ** same pics as this person but no putty stuff on mine also ** when i try to select a gear it doesnt work, only 3rd and 4th work if i try to select 1st, it then slides into the centre into 3rd if i try to select 2nd, it then slides into the centre into 4th i noticed the gear selector rod under the car, the socket had worn and the person had just cable tied it on got a new bit but still the same problem if you drive the car you can move off in 3rd, i have it up on ramps with the front bumper off at the moment so i can access it a bit better, im gonna remove the exhaust system next to get access to the gear selector cables as this might be my next part to check before replacing the gearbox i have the elsawin software for reference when taking the car apart please if anyone could help me get it touch cheers dave
  14. Does the Speedo on a lupo 1.0 go off the wheel or the transmission? If I put bigger wheels on will they effect my the speedo?
  15. Hi guys, I'm new to this and want some ideas and help. I've got a 1998 1.0 Seat Arosa, in red. Also can someone help me out with posting pictures I can't figure it out.
  16. I would like to swap my 1.3 polo breadvan 1992 with all service history, past MOT's, 2x keys... for a 1.0 litre Lupo inbox me offers, or for pics look on here for pics http://www.pinkbike.com/u/Brettmac95/album/MY-first-car/
  17. What's the best way you guys think of connecting metal pressed plates to a lupo Isit easier to just drill new holes then put the original screws back through ??
  18. hi everybody. was going along the motorway yesterday and my accelerator just hit the floor. recovery bloke came and it turns out the throttle cables snapped. always thought mine was elecrtric though cos there is no wire in the throttle body, but when you look up past the pedals i can see a snapped cable. got one on order from vw to collect tomorrow but does anyone have any clue of replacing it?? thanks! chris
  19. So my beloved 1litre is nearly dead. Anyone know any companies out there that will source an engine and swap them for me? And does anyone know if it's possible to swap from 1.0 to 1.4 with ease, like is or just a mount change or are the shapes completely different? I live in South Wales of anyone knows anywhere local... Thanks.
  20. Cheers Mates. I'm from Romania. Here the Lupo's aren't that popular, but the owners are very proud of this little car. A friend of mine from the vw lupo club romania fitted cruise control on his TDI 1.4 AMF. I was wondering if I could do the same on my little 1.0 AUC. It's fly by wire, and has a clutch switch also. I basically want to know the login code for the vagcom. I guess it's different from TDI's, isn't it? Please give me some good news.
  21. So, the poor little engine in my 1.0 Lupo is on its last legs. And rather than trading her in for a new cari want to change the engine. Too many memories and all that. But, as I'm sure everyone's aware 1.0 engines are like rocking horse **** to find, and also not giving me enough go. So my question is, I'm planning to source and put in a 1.2. I'll obviously change the clutch plate too but is there anything else that'll need changing? Engine mounts etc. Or is it a straight swap? Cheers, Tom

This is my arosa on the first day i picked it up! I straight away debadged it, and cleaned it up Then de-wipered it:) Got some DIN type cupholders off lupoboz, and a JVC headunit free off my sister, and bought a fli trap 12" sub! Then i got some Lupo rears off ebay for £26 inc. delivery! Then bought a sheet of some 3m carbon wrap and some aero wipers:D Plan on getting coilovers soon, and maybe g60s as i don't like the tsw's that are on it! Let me know what you think, cheers!
  23. Hello, I'm a new member to CL and I'm 16. Basically, I've been looking to get a 1.0L. Lupo for my first car and I will be going into the dub scene of course! In doing so, I'd like to get a GTI "kit" on it. Such as grill, front bumper, rear bumper, spoiler and side skirts basically. Also i'd like to get a bonnet which covers a bit of the light. But is this actually possible? I'll be looking to buy a lupo 1L. in black from the reg 2000-2005. Also if this is possible could you fellow Lupo'ers send me links where I can get the GTI stuff from other than GTI's breaking on ebay. Cheers, Jack
