  4. 1.4E petrol Lupo with low mileage - 53k (used as second car for the last 4 years) Very good condition, immaculate seats & interior. Very clean Jazz blue paintwork, with a couple of minor blemishes but no rust. MOT: November 2011 Tax: December 2011 Service history to 40k (2007), then annual oil changes and maintenance carried out by owner. The all important cambelt and waterpump have been changed in 2009. The discs, pads and brake shoes were changed last year and at the same time both front suspension bushes were renewed. Apart from Sport suspension (springs and dampers), the car is standard. The engine uses no oil between services and is very smooth & quiet with good performance and regularly returns around 45mpg. Four good tyres with unused spare and full tool kit. The standard VW Beta radio has been supplemented with a single CD player. Located in North-East (Newcastle area) More pictures here: http://s1224.photobu...ee372/64catnip/ Price: £1,500 PM for more details
  5. The switch is part of the door lock mechanism, so you'll need to remove this to investigate. It might be possible to repair, but most people just replace the whole lock assembly. I assume you've checked the light is in the 'auto' position, does the passenger side work correctly?
  6. If you've tracked the problem down to the GALA function then this must be wired into the radio incorrectly. You can find a diagram of the standard VW connections here: Gamma Connections, so all you need to do is to find the GALA wire on the car side of the adaptor and remove it so that it's disconnected from the radio. Hopefully this will remove the interference and make your car a little quieter!
  7. Cheaper from eBay, you should get a switch for less than a tenner, here's an example but check before you buy to make sure it's the right one as there are a couple of versions: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brake-Lamp-Light-Switch-4-pin-VW-Lupo-10-2002-/360229921729?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item53df6063c1 There's a knack to fitting them and if you get it wrong then you are likely to break it, so be careful!
  8. Hi and welcome to the club. I assume you mean that you press the brake, auto's don't usually have a clutch pedal! It's probably a faulty brake light switch as this will be used to identify that the pedal has been depressed. Next time it happens, check that the brake lights come on. The fix is a new switch, around a tenner from the dealers or cheaper on ebay. There's a knack to changing them, but it's only a five minute job.
  9. Don't know if you've got the drums off yet, but there should be no need for a crowbar or large hammer. The brake mechanism contains a wedge that when knocked out, releases the shoes and allows the drum to be simply pulled off by hand. The wedge is located at approx the 2 o'clock position (offside) and can be accessed through one of the wheelbolt holes in the drum. It helps to use a torch to see what you are doing, but it's simply a case of inserting a screwdriver through the hole and applying upward pressure to the bottom of the wedge. It will release with a 'crack' and moves upwards by around a centimetre or so. Once this has been done the drum will rotate freely and should just pull off. If the handbrake lever within the drum is siezed it may however be a different story, so it might be a good idea to have that hammer to hand.... The nearside is released in the same way but the wedge is located aound the 10 o'clock position. Hope this helps.
  10. ETKA lists two sizes of door mirrors: 130 x 105 and 150 x 105, so the latter might be the larger type that you have. There are two part numbers listed for the mirror only, both are heated: 150 x 105 wide angle, heated (rhd, right) - 6N2 857 522 G 150 x 105 convex, heated (rhd, right) - 3B1 857 522 F Sorry, no prices as I only have an old version of the software. Hopefully this will help. Steve
