  1. Yep i'll be going to this. I've posted it up on uk-polos.net aswell. Was there last year and really enjoyed it. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  2. Looks really good. Smart head unit. Glad you got it sorted. Derek style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  3. I read about this on the ukmkiv's website and it got totally slated. I agree, you can't beat the good old bucket and sponge. I claybar'd my car and then polished it with Meguires a few week back, was really impressed by the shine. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
  4. Take it for a nice long run, and get plenty of heat into the engine. This will help to burn of the all the condensation in the inside of the engine and get rid of the mayo. My Polo GTi was the exact same. My drive to work is 3.5miles each way, so after a few weeks of this and the car not going anywhere at the weekends and i had the same mayo under the filler cap. Nice long drive and giving it a bit of stick soon sorted it out. BTW if your drive to work is really short, try not to boot the car at all, cos even in the summer it's not properly up to temperature by the time you get there.
  5. Think i may be able to sort this. I had same problem when wiring up my fitted my Alpine HU. Now obviously the make of head unit may affect this but on the loom i got with the head unit there is a blue wire which runs from the ISO plug to the connector at the HU side. All i did was cut this and tape up both ends. As advised by Alpine. That solved the problem. It's got something to do with being another constant live. And the wire isn't needed. I wouldn't worry about chopping it, cos if it doesn't solve it, just fit bullet connectors and join it back together. Hope that helps Derek style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  6. I had this exact same problem today while fitting my 9833R. To solve the problem, you have to cut the BLUE wire on the loom you get with the headunit. Just snip it and tape up both ends. Then connect your remote cable from the amp to the BLUE/WHITE from the headunit and it will switch on and off fine.
  7. Is it an Arosa? Maybe he's Spanish. lol
  8. I hope it's not finished mate, looks like could be a good set up but where r u planning on putting the amps? Are you gonna hide the cable under the carpet? Also why 3 amps? Is the Rockford running a set of front components with the 2 Alpines bridged to run the sub?
  9. I'd thought about doing this to my Polo aswell, bit of red leccy tape. lol
  10. My stealer is uselss too. I had an arguement with some poor excuse for someone in their parts dept, who basically without actually saying it, stood and called me a liar after i told him my mate had bought the exact same part i was trying to order from them, from the same branch. He swore blind he couldn't have. So i had to do a 40mile round trip drive to another dealer, owned by the same company, only to be told, "yes sir no problem, if we order it before 2pm you will have it next day. Needless to say once i get the part i will be going back to the local dealer to kick up all sort of crap, followed by a strong letter of complaint. I work in customer services, and even if i know i customer is wrong i won't argue about it if they disagree.
  11. Yeah they are 232mm x 9mm, same as the Polo GTi, i just bought a new set of Zimmermann's for mine yesterday.
  12. Has anyone got a `flip-key` for their lupo or arosa. Just wondering if this can be used on thse cars and if programming the immobiliers is possible?
  13. I've put a post up on `uk-polos`. Seeing as my name is down anyway, need to try and get more people.
  14. Hope you'll try and get me one at that price aswell.
