ive just had one done at 78500 so i dont think you've done bad. mine was £400 but i had a timing belt and water pump done aswell.

its just had new plugs. but it sounds like the throttle body has gone. thats the latest answer from the mechanic anyway but we will see turns out its actually the coilpack thats gone after being plugged into 3 different computers. cheers for the help guys

its on now my dads took it for me but its not comin up with any faults. so im stumped ??

right ive changes the EGR valve and the management light is still on. the car runs fine when driving around but runs rough on idle. its not searching on the revs but sound like a misfire but isn't registering a misfire on the computer. any idea's guys. much appreciatedb

thanks guys ive sorted it. its on the right hand side of the block just under the manifold. its probs the easiest job besides a service

can anyone tell me where the egr valve is on the 1.4 16v sport engine please. many thanks

no im afraid thats not it. ive bought a new one and need to replace it. the place i got it from showed me a expoded diagram of where it is and its at the back of the engine just above where the exhaust goes under the car.

ive used s-drives for since i got my sport and can't complain. good in all conditions and get good milage out of them too. but i havent had anything else on it so can't really compare.

the indicators and brake lights i believe ive tried some on and thats what was different anyway. but i didnt like them so ive left mine alone.

i had a polo 6n with a similiar problem and it turned out to be the earth from the battery to the body of the car had corroded. this may help. ??

my sport is lowered on coilovers and i have a problem with uneven wear on my front tyres the back are fine but they are worn very badly on the inside i think it could be my tracking but the steering wheel is in the middle an doesn't shake at all so does it need setting up properly?? is there anywhere in the yorkshire area that does this. cheers gaz

a good service will make it feel a bit better but thats only for a while. if you go for the usual induction kit exhaust combination you might get 10 horsepower if your lucky for a good induction kit and exhaust cat back system your looking at around £300-£500.
