  2. Hi All, Thought id say hiiiii officially (and not just in the readers rides section of the site) Im getting back into the VDUB side of things after being with NEW MINIs for the last 4-5 years. I sold my G40 to buy a MINI Cooper S and despite the MINI being a totally awesome all round car, it still wasnt a patch on the G, id say that the MINI is way to refined compared to a 91 Polo Supercharged playtoy Ive been in the motortrade since i left school and worked my way up from washing cars day in day out, to then into the Valeting, then parts dept (supervisor and manager for both VW, AUDI, BMW, MINI and Vauxhall) and also service manager for a Vauxhall dealer. Then started my own company doing stuff for the NEW MINI which i still kinda do but since relocating up into Newcastle this has taken a step back for the time being. Cars ive owned are 83 Nova Saloon, 88 Nova SR, Fiat Panda soft top when my Nova got killed by an uninsured driver , 88 Polo Coupe GT, 91 POLO G40, 2 x MINI Cooper S`s highly tuned and now my 90 Golf Driver which is coming along slowly, but im now also on the look out for either a Lupo Sport, or a Gti...the main thing tho is i want WHITE....so im not sure where i stand on that score And now some pics Me in whitley bay, just down the road from where i live...very cold ! My old G40... My 1st MINI Cooper S... Then my 2nd MINI Cooper S (this was very quick with loads of mods stealthy)... And now to what i have.... And for what i do to MINIs as a part time job? i change the dash lighting (from orange) to any colour they like... when i get the lupo, i will prob do the same with some funky colours or just go white/red like the audis.... Hope i didnt bore you allllll to much
  3. Has anyone got Dynolicious ?? Ive have had it for some time now on my touch, and it works pretty much spot on
  4. Just read the thread from start to finish and wow....what work! Looks F.A.B. ! I rem seeing that beige Mk2 Golf in Gosforth some months back and i said to the GF at the time, "**** me look how low that is" and how you elegantly dodged the speed bumps...ha ha ! MINT ! She didnt understand, but i was like "fair play" Havnt seen the Lupo in the flesh yet, but sure hope so soon !
  5. I live in Long Benton, the gf lives in Gateshead (low fell). Im disconbobulated at the mo, as i dont know wether to go for a sport, or a GTi, and now ive read up on the track day Seat Arosa, im even more head battered ha ha. Im currently driving a Mk2 Golf driver, that ive been restoring for sometime, but having owned a few MINI Cooper S`s and a pukka G40, i want something more fun
  6. Your going to need to cool the charge down a fair bit, as they do blow quite hot, what plans have you got for the IC ?
  7. oh and to prove i did have a 15% pulley (because you know what some people are like lol) heres a pic...
  8. Glad youve done some research to back up what ive said, dont pay over the odds just because someone says its off a GP. Its a waste of money to do that. Hard to tell the difference tbh between the units. Just try and get as much info as poss from the car its come from, the newer the MINI Cooper S the better Glad ive helped in some way for you, heres some pics of a modded charger ive seen done by m7tuning.com... I ran a 15% on my charger no probs....dont forget all the 5th gen chargers are the same...its just the pulley thats different
  9. Looks fab on steelies. Will have to keep an eye out for you
  10. Yeah if i rem rightly the max permissible rpm is 18k for the M45, especially if you want some life out of the unit. But saying that, chargers are quite freely available due to JCW conversions, just make it quick release lol. I note further back in this thread the Engine RPM is going to be raised to 7.2k ?? maybe thats not so much of a good idea afterall Si
  11. HI, just joined up to the site, as im looking at either a Lupo Gti, or going down the MK3 Golf Gti route, but after reading this im astounded at what you have achieved so far. I think this thread alone has swayed me towards the Lupo Gti route ! Im from modding MINIs with the Eaton chargers, and you do know you can get the chargers flowed and ported ?? If i rem rightly, the company is called www.m7tuning.com , and they do them by exhange. I also ran a 17% pulley on my cooper s, parts from http://www.altaperformance.com/products/li...=16&model=8 and your going to love the sound of that charger, if I could ever upload sound clips from my "S" to prove it I would Be very careful on the GP Charger. As far as im aware, they are just the same as a JCW Charger, which is a slightly smaller Pulley (14.8% reduction) to a standard cooper s. ALL Cooper S chargers as of around 2004 had specially coated blades internally too Heres a quick graph relating to max possible RPMs for the charger, as going by the size of pulley you can use....dont over rev the Charger, or it will break, ive seen it on a 21% pulley combo. The top part of info is relating to engine max permissible RPM. The sencond lower one shows the RPM of the charger. hat off to you!
