  1. Hello mate, Do you have any receipts for the work carried out?. Is it just there bare engine for sale or does the sale include ancillaries?. Cheers Mark
  2. No there is nothing special or complicated Sie, the only problem i had was i struggled with the lack of space whilst working under the car. Next time the engine will be coming out as i think it would be less hasstle than struggling under the car. The only reason i changed my clutch was because i was replacing the gearbox. IMO i wouldnt bother changing your clutch yet if the only problem your having is a noisey release bearing. Hope this helps, Mark
  3. yes aee and aex is a straight swap mate
  4. my linkage belt went on my lupo 1.4 16v 75bhp engine mid last year, i just turned the key to start it up and then i heard the dreaded noise. upon inspection ALL 16v's were bent, but i had no piston damage on any cylinder. i ended up going all out and having the head rebuilt, valve seats re-cut, new guides, stem seals, 16 new valves, etc and it was a pricey job it cost me around 600 quid for all the parts and the labour for the head rebuild, but i built it back up myself once i got the head back so saved abit of money there. my mates also did the same trick after mine went but funds were tight for him so we went about doing it on a budget, we sourced a head from a mk4 golf 1.4 16v AHW lump from a scrap yard, we gave his head and 50 quid in an exchange, bought the timming belt kit from gates for £90, a head gasket and head bolts from GSF for about 25 quid and a new water pump whilst we were at it. put it all back together and it ran sweet, the only problem was that the head from the golf didnt use an egr valve, which wasnt a problem because a blanking plate was made and that did the trick, ive heard that lupos run in limp mode when the egr valve is removed, but this one ran sweet as a nut didnt run in limp mode or anything or the sort. so you can fix it for cheap enough if you source a cheap head, it cost little over 200 quid doing it this way, i also got a brilliant diagram and instructions off the gates website for timing the engine up which helped me alot. i read earlier you were having trouble with the bottom pulley?, i used a snap on 18v impact gun to remove mine. hope this helps, Mark
  5. nope not a problem with the thread jack mate, the center caps would finish the wheels off perfectly, and as you say they are for sale at a very good price, many thanks for your comments and good luck with your sale. regards mark
  6. Will post pictures up tonight guys, will reply to your pm when I get home mat as I can't do it on my phone. Cheers mark Will also reply to your pm to crash, cheers mark
  7. i have got a set of 4 g60 steels and tyres for sale, just been refurbed and are in very good condition, they have no centre caps with them and the tyres will need fitting to the rims. 15" 4 x 100 and they are 6j not sure on the width of the tyres i think their 195 45's, all have good tread will put pictures up tommorow night, collection from manchester m38 im wanting £140 cheers mark The picture above is of a small ding in one of the lips which is barely noticeable it doesnt affect the wheel at all and is really only visible when your up close, just wanting to be as honest as possible so im not miss leading people. The pictures do not do the wheels any justice at all, they look much better in the flesh. i have'nt got the tyres with me at the min so cant tell people the brands, but i can assure you they are all above the legal limit and whoever buys them will not be dissapointed
  8. wow their cool, if only i had the funds, GLWS mate
  9. yeah i was under the impression that the inlet cam had a different profile, but just looking for somebody to shine some light on this for me, thanks for your reply, much appreciated mark
  10. yeah im pretty sure it is a straight swap on the gearbox and engine mounts mate, as a friend of mine did this conversion on a 1.0, i take it your arosa is the mk1? if so then yes it will.
  11. hey guys, i have been looking around for some lupo sport cams, but i have been speaking to a guy and he seems to think the part numbers are the same on 75bhp cams and the lupo sport cams? is there anybody who can confirm this as i would have thought a lupo sport inlet cam would be different? i have looked at all the threads on "where does lupo sport get its extra 25 bhp from" and from reading them i seem to get the picture that the cams arent the same, but surely you would'nt just get the 25bhp from the ecu, throttle body, injectors, inlet manifold and exhaust manifold? or would you?? any help is much appreciated, cheers mark
  12. hi guys, I am going to be replaceing the gearbox in my lupo (1.4 16v 75bhp) at weekend, im sure I heard something about the clutch cable being tricky to re-fit, once it has been disconected? but I cant quite remember what the problem actually was if there is one?. Or am i just going crackers lol? is there anything else tricky or awkward that I should be aware of??. any help is much appreciated, cheers mark
  13. hey guys and girls, this is my second year/MOT test with my lupo 1.4s 2002, she passed her last test with flying colours but has racked up some miles since then ,I bought her in january 2009 with 44k, she now has 95k and going stong, she is serviced by myself every 6k miles and has parts replaced or repaired when needed so, im just wondering if there is anything particular i should look at/for before i put her in for test? i will be gratefull for any information/help posted, many thanks mark
