  1. Could also be the MAP sensor on the end of the inlet manifold, quite prone to becoming dirty over the years. Would also explain the 'air flow' fault?
  2. I saw this parked up in Reigate near where I live on Saturday! Was shocked to see an Anthracite Grey GTI in the flesh, I thought I was dreaming!
  3. Driver's side is still available from VW, passenger side is obsolete
  4. The fuel pump will make a noise when you first open the driver's door, as it's the pump priming. It sounds like something getting hot and failing after a while, so could be a relay on it's way out
  5. Not all rear axles are the same on Lupo's 6X0 500 047 is for models without rear anti-roll bar (PR code OBA) 6X0 500 047 A is for models with rear anti-roll bar (PR code OBB) 6E0 500 047 is a GTI rear axle
  6. May be worth taking to a friendly garage and seeing if they have an MOT ramp with a headlamp aim machine, they can set them correctly
  7. I think they're the best wheels on a GTI as well!
  8. They will fit but probably use rubber band tyres! The Up! GTI has 195/40 r17s as standard on a 6.5j x 17 alloy, I'd imagine you'd have to run a 35 profile or less tyre to get clearance in the arches.
  9. Pm me your reg and i'll have a look for you
  10. I run 205/40 r17 Uniroyal Rainsport 5s on mine, a massive improvement on the crap Goodyears
  11. There are a couple of people on eBay who 3d print these now
  12. Most people have swapped to a 195/45 R15, I did many years ago due to lack of choice with the OE size. I can highly recommend Uniroyal Rainsport, they are by far the best tyre I've ever fitted to my gti
  13. It's an SE in the UK, but it is quite a rare car. Nice find!
  14. If the battery on mine goes flat, then when I get it started again, the Xenons flicker as the battery is being charged by the alternator, then as soon as it has enough charge, they stop flickering.
  15. If yours is a 16V engine, VW used the silicon sealant for the camshaft housing from the factory, so you won't fit a rubber gasket that fits anywhere! VW part number for the sealant is D 188 003 A1
  16. I recently changed the crank sensor on my GTI, was a pain in the ass to do. Mine was fine until it warmed up, then it would jump, like it had a massive misfire, then drive with about half the power it should have. When it first did it, I turned it off then on again and it was fine, but after a week or so, it brought the EPC light on. I've now fitted a new sensor and all is well again!
  17. It's obsolete from VW now, but the part number is 028 103 493 AA
  18. I just looked when it was originally posted, March 2012! Weird as I clicked on the 'New Posts' tab at the top and it came up!
  19. I just clicked on the above link and get this error
  20. I'm glad you found one in the end. They really are fun cars to drive and surprise a lot of people who think 'it's just an Up!' Enjoy yourself!

    Hello!

Hello and welcome to the site! Any pictures of your 3L?
  22. The ETKA picture is slightly confusing (no surprise there!) 12A doesn't relate to the GTI, you need 12 which is part number 6Q0 611 775 B (x2) 10A is part number 6X0 611 763 C and is obsolete from VW 11A is part number 6X0 611 764 D and is still available from VW I also remember someone on here modding some Mk4 Golf lines. I've been told the HEL braided lines need the hole in the mounting bracket slightly enlarged to get them to fit properly.
