  1. @Tigz you mean a 3L bonnet for instance? I am kinda thinking about the carbon as it has a vent and the 300bhp engine will be producing a lot of heat that can escape through the vent
  2. Oke I'm working out the last details on the exteriour mods for this winter as the engine conversion is almost complete. Does anyone here have good pictures from a vented carbon bonnet on a lupo? And how are the reviews on fitment and reliability?
  3. to check how much cash you would need for a complete company kit check Rothe: Rothe Lupo GTI Turbo If you can build it yourself you save a lot off cash but most of us don't have the time, tools and/or knowledge to do it. Arvid
  4. it can't......on a Lupo, but I deal in jap performance parts and when the base car is say a RX-7 of a Skyline 14bhp isn't that bid a jump. It's like nitrous, the performance inprovement depends on the base engine performance.
  5. the ratteling tailgate has been a frequent problem here in holland. The locking mechanism isn't that good quality. You can start by fastening the torax screws but this will only help for so long, it will return. If it keeps comming back you might need a new locking mechanism style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

    oil

my dads Golf Mk4 also runs longlife oil. However this is much more expensive and I kinda question the function. I mean you can better run a good performance 10W40 or 5W40 and change the oil once a year than use the longlife oil and have larger service gaps. As long as you use a fully synth oil there is no problem. In my own car, not a comparison to the normal engines in a lupo but for example, I run a good performance oil for turbocharges engines and also use Lucas Engine Oil Stabilizer for better protection on this high power engine.

    16v head

there is a 75bhp 1.4 16V and a 100 bhp 1.4 16V. The difference is mainly the management and the 100 bhp version has had some headwork and better flow.

    16v head

the golden money monkey's style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Swapping for a 1.8T or R32 (which is a 6cyl) is way more expensive and definately not easy. The 6cyl swap makes the car very heavy. The 16V conversion doenst attract attention to it when you open the hood as it also is a standard engine. The 16V also has a auto gearbox option here in holland so shouldn't be to difficult.

    16v head

2 B honest, never heard of anyone doing this conversion. Not even german tuners have done one. I think swapping heads on newer cars isn't as easy as it used to be in the Golf Mk 2 days. I think it will take more monkey to adapt making it easier maybe to swap in a full 16V engine.
  10. you can fit bi-xenons H4, this would not need the extra high-beam units to be fitted. However this is more expensive than a regular H4-xenon set.

    Bonnets

No sorry it's in the shop again. Technically it is finished but i'm still thinking about what to do with the interiour and a part of the exteriour as on one hand i want to sell it, but on the other hand i would like to take it up another step technically. It has become my winter project so no rushing hahaha style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" /> All Smiles, couln't find to much info about it, is it this one: Give richard @ all smiles a call... 07970422554???????

    Bonnets

Ah used google and found some in the UK, they are all priced about the same, shame shipping is murder. However they all have the cut-out for the VW logo in the grill and I have a Kamei badgeless grill. Are there carbon bonnets without the cut-out available????
  13. max advised lowering is -40mm, however when you don't upgrade the shocks they will wear faster when you have lowering springs fitted. You can fit the springs now and when the shocks wear out upgrade them with sports version, however a sport lowering kit complete with shocks and springs will be cheaper than buying the seperately.
  14. we here in Holland have the same problem. A lot of cheap HID kits are sold and placed in older model cars like Golf 1,2 and corrado which don't have clear headlight and cause a lot of blinding. The government has declared that by 2006 every car that has an aftermarket xenon kit should also have a high pressure washer kit and automatic high adjustability like cars that have xenon fitted as standard.

    Bonnets

the tailgate on the 3L was a combo of aluminium and magnesium. Magnesium was also used in the steering wheel! by the way does anyone here have a link to sites in the UK for a carbon bonnet for the Lupo, as we don't have them here in Holland style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
