  1. As for my last comment regarding a smoy Breather filter I was informed it may possibly be piston rings, I always thought that a damaged piston ring would result in a loss of compression. Therefore I would like to conduct a compression test with my dads compression tester. My question is... What compression should a lupo sport engine be running at? Any help would be greatly apprieciated. Davey
  2. sounds good...get paid on the 19th...I'll PM you then you get the rings from german and swedish too?
  3. ahhh right cool...I've got a mate who owes me a few massive favours so £100 for the rings you say and then i'll need the stem seals doing too. Any idea where you get these from? I can imagine the stealers supply them, but anywhere cheaper??
  4. think it is the rings now, just tried the test CasperGTi mentioned. New rings and valves then....? Whats that gonna set me back?
  5. So I went to top up my washer fluid last night and noticed that my breather filter was smoking and was covered in oil...Tried the search function regarding sports burning oil and it seems like a normal thing for a sport to do but the smoking breather filter wasnt mentioned.... any help much appriciated Davey

  9. Driving home doing 60 in 5th about 3000rpmcould hear the whirring knocked it into neutral whirring noise quickly died down. So I revved whilst in neutral and the whirring noise came and died along with the revs As I was in neutral at that point am I safe in saying it could be the revometer/ revometer cable??? Davey
  10. Ill give it ago on my way home from work and let you know in 20 mins.
  11. Ooh sounds bad.... how can I tell if it is? And what needs to be done if it is?? Cheers
  12. There is a whirring noise that I can hear whilst driving. The noise seems to be coming from Dash/Engine part of the car and seems to become louder the faster I go. Friend reckons it could be the speedo cable, but the speedo seems fine. Any ideas?? Cheers in advanced Davey
  13. Jcarroll...I live in the Cheshire area and don't mind nipping over to North Wales, Which VW salvage yards do you know of?? ta
