Just to let everyone know, there is a charity day at Snetterton Race track tomorrow (26th November) for passenger rides in race cars, there are around 150 cars, entry to the event is £5 per car load and rides are from £10, all money raised is going to the RMHC charity. No need to book, just turn up, but if you do a websearch for Snetterton Charity day you will find more info. I will be driving my Dunlop Sportsmaxx (Production Touring Car) Lupo and a Focus ST, but there are tons of cars coming from Historics and Rally Cars to Ferraris and Mclarens. No i have the racing bug, just cant resist!!!! Had to do the last race of the season just so we can have a few beers, also instructing Rally driving and drifting the following weekend and got a team on the waiting list for the Birkett 6 hour race at silverstone in october as well, have to wait and see if we get an entry. we will enter a 6 car team, the lupo, 350Z, Focus ST, Mini Cooper Works, BMW 320 and either a BMW M3 or 325, should be a laugh if we get a place, i will let you all know. Then time to get preparing the car ready for next year. I dont have the trophy yet, should get it either at the Autosport show in January or at the BARC awards dinner in February, i will take a piccy with it on the car and post it up!!! If you guys & girls do a calender for next year i have some professional pics that were taken on the track that might look good. I will post up next week how we wnet at Rockingham, thanks for everyones support....Someone build another one and come have some fun!!!!! simon

Hi all, Just to let you know, last Dunlop Sport Maxx race of the season is at Rockingham this weekend, qualifying on Saturday, 45 min race on Sunday, I have already won the class championship as you all know so no pressure for this last race, just going to have fun, the lupo has had a remap by BC-Tuning so hopefully a bit more power and a higher redline. More new cars are out in the class for this last race so we will be up against:- Pug 106 GTI Mini Cooper Fiat Punto HGT Hybrid Honda Civic (driven by Gavin Kershaw, FIA GT driver) Trying to get one of the BTCC drivers to be my guest second driver for the race, not sure yet, but will be cool if it happens. I have just found out there is a Lupo entered for the Britcar 24hr race at Silverstone over the weekend of 19th September, its been entered by Saxon Motorsport and is fitted with a Golf mk3 1.9TDI engine kicking out 250bhp, they are claiming it will be able to do 3hours between stops so will be pretty impressive!! I am not working at the 24hr this year (team manager for Shawn Taylor Racing 350Z last year), but might go along for a look, if i get some piccys i will post them up!

Main differences cup car to GTi are: Steel Doors, Bonnet, wings on Cup car (was the pre launch model before the gti was launched) Originally cup cars had the 1400 polo engine fitted (mine now has a std Lupo 1600) due to 1400 they were cable throttle and clutch Front brake disks are larager than standard and front and rear are grooved no handbrake, but has one now. Uprated rear anti rollbar F&R front adjustable coilover shocks and Bilstein rears Full 6 point cage Kevlar race seat with 6 point harness Extinguisher K&N Air filter Manifold back Magnex exhaust Oz Race wheels Obviously the car is stripped out with some weight removed (currently car weighs 890kg with 1 ltr of fuel I think thats most of the differences, my car runs with a full datalogging and dash display also, but this was fitted by me later

Hi everyone, Just to let you know i have won the Class C Championship of the Dunlop Sport Maxx Championship in the Lupo, Thruxton this weekend i had a Second in race one with fastest lap which was enough to put me out of reach of any of the other class c cars with Rockingham and Race 2 still to go. In Race 2 i had a win and fastest lap, beating a Pug 106 GTI by more than 30 seconds! Not sure if i will do the final round at Rockingham end of this month or put the money into bits for the car for next year. Please leave room for my Sports Maxx Lupo, i will be trailering it there as its not road legal, i will arrive after work on Friday, would like the car on the stand Saturday if poss, may or may not be there on Sunday. I will have my Astra and Trailer also, but i am sure i can find somewhere to hide them!!

Just back from the Brands Hatch Race, got 2nd so the Lupo is now leading Class C, 3 more races to go!!! We were pushing against the Mini Cooper in the opening laps, but by the pitstop and driver change we were 9 seconds adrift, my guest driver then got us a drive through penalty for speeding in the pit lap so i had to do a stop and go so we dropped back a lap, ended the race battling with my team mates Mini Cooper S Works which was down on power but lead to an interesting final few laps of him trying to get past, but held on to the end!! Our best laptime of the race: 1:01.258, fastest lap of Class C: Mini Cooper: 1:01.028.... Pretty Close!!!! I am bringing the car to Edition38, hope to see a few of you there... Anyone with a spare Bathurst i can buy and they can bring along let me know...

Just to let you all know, We had a class win in the first race and 2nd in class in the second race, now 2nd in the Class C championship and only one point behind, i will post the Sky Sports and Motors TV times when we get them, next race Brands Hatch Bank Holiday Monday, Bring it on!!!!!!

Hi Ya, Just to let you know i am racing my lupo in the Dunlop Sportsmaxx cup at Donington this weekend if anyone fancies coming to watch, the race will be on Sky Sports in a couple of weeks. Qualifying on Saturday, most of the racing on Sunday. We are supported by the Radicals, Mini Cooper Challenge, Mini 7's and Miglia and also the historic Touring Cars.
