Hi! Wondering if anyone can help. I have a lupo 1.4s and in the last week my car hasn't started 2 of the 5 times I have tried to start it up but after waiting around the 2 hours mark it seems to all of a sudden start again. It is turning over but not igniting I had rac out and they plugged it in but came up with injector 1,2,3,4, both lambda sensors and fuel level sensor he also check the spark and it does it 3-4 times then stops. They said they don't know what it is but could maybe be crank sensor or coil pack. Has anyone had the same problem or know what it may be? Thanks Kaylee

Ok, so thought i would treat my lupo to a new cam belt it obviously didnt want this taking off of it as since it hasnt stopped breaking!!! so the knocking i spoke about i presumed it was the clutch release bearing so had the clutch changed yesterday and its still there... grrrrrr so gearbox to be next although it now makes a grinding noise which i presume is something else!! i feel a new car would be just appropriate. I may resort back to a classic mini as all it needed was welding up every now and again. is anybody elses lupo a financial burden?

Well went to London yesterday and on the way back there was a nasty noise at the front of the car, I had an RAC man out and he tells me the release bearing is on its way out, so means a new clutch kit... grrrrr does anybody know how to fit them? Kaylee

Finally Started PCing The Lupo / Swirl Removal! Polishing :)

Cool ill look into that, was going to put a sealant under the wax mainly for protection anyways John: Awsome stuff for VAG paint, i also have some megs #80 and #83 and they don't touch the vag paint in comparison, while on others such as fords they are very effective. -

Yeah what machine do you have john ? Im not using rotary, have a dual action polisher so its a little slower but safer.. the Rd3.02 was designed for tough paint like the VAG stuff so its making life a little easier especially when combined with the firm pad Topping it off with Poorboys Natty's Paste Wax Blue as it goes really well on the darker colors This is mainly just a restoration session, in summer i am going to try to get it better and layer on some wax's -

Yeah its hard to show on camera but the results in real life are unreal, the paints actually alot deeper black and has clarity: -
Though id try my hand at removing the swirls from 'Ted' although the car looks perfect most of the time, in direct bright sunlight and under lamps the swirls are obvious! Once in the garage i couldn't see the swirls under the garage lighting so have a 1500watt lamp on a stand to exaggerate them a little. Tools : 1 x UDM Polisher 1 x Bottle Menzerna RD3.02 1 x Lake County Orange Pad 2 x 1500watt lamps. Here are some photos from the test effort to see if it was going to be effective, please bear in mind this is without wax and still has dust everywhere, as im now going to have a go at doing the car properly: What i was working with : After around 2 passes: After 5 passes: Comments welcome..

When I get to about 50/60mph it starts whistling at me, it sounds like a wind noise but does anybody have a clue what this could be or have the same problem?
-
No sorry, not really something i do on other peoples car just friends and family
-
What are you doing with them that is illiegal?

Porter Cable.. or Ultimate Detailing Machine etc... basically i want to perform some paint defect removal the swirl marks etc.. The VAG paint is particularly hard so was looking for some advice on pads and polish, basically this is a car we did recently from this swirly mess: to Under the lamp, the hazy bits are just residue that hasn't been wiped off yet..
