  2. hi peeps had a diagnostics check done on the loop as its fairly poorly at the mo, it turns out that the throttle position actuator is faulty, does anyone know if this is just a sensor or does the car need a whole new throttle body. any help and prices would be a great help cheers
  3. yes they are pretty hard to get off, i used a screwdriver, be very careful though as there will be a huge amount of pressure built up in the fuel line, i found this out the hard way with petrol in my eyes and all over my clothes! HAPPY!
  4. right side of engine as you look it it, have cleaned out as best as i could will check to see if its coming back at all? cheers for your opinions
  5. Upon having a general inspection of engine bay i discovered that one of the spark plug wells was half filled with oil (the one closest to right hand side of engine block) is this a huge problem and what could have caused it? cheers guys/gals
  6. changed the fuel filter today still no difference made, also changed some sort of braided vaccum hose that connects to a nipple on top left of engine block under airbox as it was freyed, when the car was running without the hose i could do everything that usually stalls the engine without any probs, but once the new hose went back on the problems occur again!!! does anyone know what this hose does ( its a very skinny hose leading down to another nipple on side of engine block about half way down on the left hand side) i am desperate for ideas now as im running out with patience and ideas myself? cheers
  7. hi peeps, quick update on my poorly loop, the problem is still occuring but am living with it a bit better now!! finally getting paid from my accident in december last year so will be going in the garage hopefully to get sorted still open to any ideas on how to solve this problem myself to save some money have been meaning to ask if anyone who lives in the east suxxex area has access to vag com? cheers
  8. v-power added 2 days ago lol, just tried to get a diagnostics check done and the plug wouldnt send any info across to diagnostics machines!!! Gonna replace temperature sensor on reccomendation of the mechanic from tonight! May the fun and games continue
  9. alternator and battery tested today, alternator is fine battery was knackered so got a new one and problem still occuring so its having a diagnostics check tonight, starting to think its gonna be the air mass sensor or something like that
  10. TB cleaned and problem still occuring so getting alternator and battery tested tomoro
  11. Spoke to my mate who used to own it, he said this happened before to him and he cleaned the TB and it solved it so fingers crossed it is just that again and it wont cost me anything!! cheers for your help guys
  12. cambelt was last done at 60000 car is now on 92000 only owned the car for 6-7 months but mate of mine owned it before me and he last did a service at 85000 changing plugs filters etc
  13. would these cause the car to idle low upon start up? knowing my luck its something more costly lol
  14. Hi Guys/Gals This morning i started the loop with no problems at all. Get to the top of my drive and the car stalls when i dip the clutch. So i start her again and it fires up then dies on me again. After this happening three or four times i manage to juggle the peddles around to keep the revs up and drive off, i go to turn off of the road im driving along and dip the clutch and turn the corner and again she dies. By this point im fuming and cursing so once i get it started again i give her some stick along the country roads and all seems fine again, I came out of work tonght to have all of the trouble again? I have been out once more tonight and noticed a couple more actions will trigger the stalling syndrome, those being turning on the A/C and putting the steering on to full lock. What could this be as im baffled by it and its stressing me out beyond belief. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks in advance craigb
  15. pretty sure its under the bonnet, right hand side of the scuttle, think there are 2 or 3 screws to take cover off
