    Why would a CLO say a technician would be selling your self short and recommend an infantry job. (might be wrong as my back ground is army not RAF.) Even though in the army air core you would get promoted as soon as you finish phase II as an aircraft tech, I would still think you would be best in RAF (no gauranteed promotion) as an aircraft tech. Bear this in mind. If you join an intended fighting force your training is how to run and point a gun. Your training is cheap and unfortunatly so is your safety. As an aircraft tech your training takes longer and is very expensive. Therefor you are paid more via quicker promotion to keep you in the service and they dont want there expensive blokes getting shot so you are so far behind front line troops that the laundry is further forwards than you and you have more chance of dropping a spanner on your self than getting shot. Join the Rough As **** as an aircraft tech and dont listen to the bloke trying to stop you, I gaurantee that he is a rock ape him self. Mind you if you are so concerned about your safety I really don't think the forces are for you. you might be better trying to expand your mechanics trade on civvy street. As has been said no one wants the bloke next to him flapping about his own safety, thats his job and yours is to look after every one else. I never heard of any one throwing some one else on to a grenade.

  9. My dad was a copper back in the good old days. He always carried a length of that plastic strapping that they use to tie up pallets so he could open cars for people. Daft thing is he tried it a couple of years ago on a ex police t5 and could still get in. It took him about 15 seconds and he was disapointe cos he said he used to be able to get in much quicker. He reckoned a mk1 escort would have taken about 4 seconds so I dont reckon 15 seconds for a modern car aint to bad. Car security is crap. There is nothing to stop a determined car theif. Example - we opened a lock round my mates in 2 seconds with a screw driver. The girl I live with never locks her car cos she says that if they want to get in they might damage the lock, and the sight of an undamaged lock will still deter most opportunist theives
  10. i've pm'd bigking.... saying if he provides proof the car is his i'll tell him how to get in. Like I said I locked the keys in my company car when I was down essex and the only spare was with my boss in durham. I rang green flag and they sent a guy out. The apprentice (I guess) took ages. When I said I thought they woud be quicker the old boy who also came showed me how to get in in seconds. And not a mark on the car so my boss never new. I tried the same method on my own car and a few mate fords, hondas and even a jeep and it works on all so far. However I really dont think its a good idea to broadcast "hey heres how to steal a lupo" on a lupo forum. p.s. does anyone want to know how to enter and start a mk2 vr6. If so my adress is 113 highstreet.........................

I am not a pikey but I have to say breaking in to cars is fairly easy (break a window) Getting in without damage is not hard and if anyone has ever done an engine conversion then they should now ho to start a car with out keys. I could get in to nd start a mk2 in about 30 seconds through practice on my own (dodgy locks) and from having to open cars that are locked in the scrappys. I think the scrappys lock em and lose the keys on purpose so you have to break the window and they can charge you for that to.
  12. Yeah I agree I would go for the 1.4 petrol. The sport is nippy enough and unless you do loads of mile every day the running costs won't be much cheaper on the oil burner. Nice to see you moving over to the dub community tho.
  13. I think you should explain exactly how you locked your keys in your car before anyone on a public forum explains how to break in to your car. I'm not doubting you as I have done this before and watched the pro's get in to a more secure car than a lupo so I know how to do it and have got in to a few mates cars and my own in the past in the same way. But at the same time people post "I've locked my keys in my R8, how do I break in" posts all the time and you have to be sure. If you PM me i'll let you know how its done with absolutly no damage to the vehicle.

  15. You wanna borrow a pick axe handle. Wrap it in tape first then remove blood splattered tape and burn it. Or I do quite like the Wako-esque music idea. Can I suggest Raining Blood or Celene Dion as good music to make people want to leave the area.
