  1. My old 16v was lowered on collies with 16s, running 195/40s. 195/40s will give approximately the same rolling circumference. It looked good and didn't rub, so if your offset is right it should be ok to deck on collies. But if I did it again I probably wouldn't go for 16s, due to size of car and also harshness.
  2. Red Lupo with centre exit exhaust (looked like a jetex style?). Followed you in a Black Ibiza Cupra on Tues at 7pm along Albion Road by the Broadway shopping centre.
  3. Had the same problem with my old 16v. I filled in a claim form at a dealer which they supposedly faxed to seat hq to try and get it repaired free of charge, no luck though. Don't think any Arosas have ever been fixed FOC...
  4. You can pull out the little slotty thing above the heater controls (sorry not good description as i haven't got my sport anymore) and hide things inside the centre consol behind the heater unit. I hope no thieves are looking at these posts...!
  5. you need a specialist for camber/caster etc. i know a few places in south east but thats a way to go! try asking accident repair centres, because they have to get the professional 4 wheel alignment done when putting cars back on the road.

    Red GTI

Spotted Mon and Tues morning about 8.15 on A228 going from Halling towards Cuxton. Very clean, lowered and rims.
  7. used to get 38 - 45 mpg out of my arosa sport depending type of roads etc. you're sport is worse than my cupra.
  8. I was running 16s on my old face lift sport. think they were 7" wide with correct offset. used 195/40 tyres - then there is very little difference to the diameter compared to the original 14s. lowered on fks, not sure how much but at least 60mm all round. no trouble with rubbing. if i was doing alloys and suspension mods again i wouldn't have gone for 16s, as the combination of low profile tyres and coilovers gave quite a harsh ride.
  9. Thanks for all the comments guys. I'm test driving the black cupra on saturday, but looks like i might wait for a decent red or yellow one to come up.
  10. What do you guys think of black paintwork? I have a negative feeling towards it. I think it can look absolutely stunning, but takes a lot of work to do so, and shows up stone chips a lot. The reason I ask is because i'm looking to get an Ibiza Cupra. I don't want grey, my current car is red so I fancy a change, and there's so few yellow ones around. I do a fair few miles and although i'll pamper it regularly i still feel a black car will show up too many marks.
  11. Although there are a few different sizes for arosas so i guess the same applies to the lupo
  12. Not sure about the amount between the two marks on dipstick, but you don't need much to fill it up to max if its on the min. Around half a litre? really am guessing though. the 16v does burn quite a bit of oil, like wise for the 16v polo i believe. i have to fill mine up fairly regularly but not a drastic as yours! have you tried phoning a Seat dealer to find out yourself?
  13. Yeah I don't blame Seat for the windscreen - I never told them it had a big chip in it in the first place and I the area arounf the chip was very weak. In hindsight I should have told them. Gav, I know what you mean about the car. I hope Seat can impress me with some decent service for once and get it sorted...!
  14. I had my pedal box & clutch cable replaced by Seat 6 weeks ago after it cracked. Since then it's been hard to drive; stiff cluch, squeaking, stiff changing gear and awful to hold on the biting point. Got Seat to have a look this weekend and they were amazed at how difficult it was to drive just around the car park! they reckon its a problem with the clutch, but will need to drop the gearbox out to be sure. they reckon the broken pedal box may have caused damage to the clutch. i dont know much about clutches, but they think the teeth on the pressure plate may be damaged??? any ideas? anyways all in all I guess i'm looking at £400 odd to get it sorted. oh and i also had a chip in my windscreen that was getting repaired as well, but after they slammed the bonnet shut it cracked so i need a replacement now, another £50!
  15. Hoping to make this one as well.
