  1. This looks familiar - 2.0T FSI block for sale as no longer needed for mock-up purposes: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-0-TFSI-engine-block-AXX-BWA-BWE-Audi-VW-/143890521386?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=27G61yhBLDZ005VnDIugggmpTPk%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc TFSI Mid engined Lupo gti? or twin engined? - either way this looks like the Lupo from this thread - if it is... its good that it has been developed
  2. Yeah - breakers really just want to break! For a used part try https://www.stevensvwspares.com/ they should be a bit more caring/knowledgeable New part - you may be over thinking this, the angle of flange will be taken up by the flexi, due to exhaust route under sump I dont think Auto-box effects - new pattern parts on Ebay throw this up, for Lupo with your engine: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-VW-Lupo-Polo-1-0-1-4-1999-2003-Catalytic-Converter-Type-Approved/372334037935?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225076%26meid%3De5638d61d2784deb938946909a2594f1%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D114477466283%26itm%3D372334037935%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWebWithDarwoV3BBEV2b%26brand%3DEEC&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 at £90 its worth a punt to get you going - granted it's not as good as OEM, but wakes me wonder how the crime is worth it Rear Lambda sensor connection is usually under the car - enclosed in a black plastic box near to the tunnel - 2 small plastic nuts (iirc 8mm) hold it on and it opens to reveal the connectors. access from drivers side, you can just about reach it without being under the car. Hopefully they cut the lambda cable rather than just yanking it out.
  3. Thats a really sh*tty thing to happen - I knew it was a thing, but not seen it myself. I'm surprised they targeted such a small low car, I can only think it must have been parked in a crime favourable location or run out of easy to access Chelsea tractors / pick ups. What other damage did they do to get under the Lupo? - did they screw up your sills? As long as it's not too far and the chopped off section of exhaust isn't catching on the road - just drive to wherever you are getting it fixed, really noisy but dont pay to get it towed.
  4. That's the problem with Lupo's there isn't a handy Haynes manual to refer to - I use 2000 to 2002 Polo Haynes for most stuff - it says that it should be position F35 (I believe that's bottom left) should be 25A. But I would be wary as to why it has been disabled, if it blew fuses its simpler just to leave the fuse in place. Check the slot has terminals first, and be on standby to pull the fuse in case something starts heating up, or gets smokey
  5. Looking good Another vote for Big Red - I have only used them for brake components, fast delivery and they tend to be great value too.
  6. The switch sounds like the switch that disables interior alarm sensors: With it switched off, you can leave animals/children in the car and the alarm wont get triggered by them moving.
  7. Suspect it will be the same for all Lupo's - disconnect tie rods from bearing carriers, take out bolt through steering rack in footwell, undo fixings holding rack to subframe, undo lower engine/box mount, undo subframe bolts and drop subframe with control arms still connected to bearing carriers - swap rack. rebuild is reversal of removal Complications are: power steering connections. Rack can only go into column one way so take a bit of time lining that up.
  8. Thats a supercharger off a mini... but the Lupo would still be more reliable than the fatty mini
  9. @James_VW I was thinking the later small blocks might work, such as in Mk5 1.6 golf such as this one: Wont Work! It looks very similar to the Gti one - but comparing bolt pattern I can see a difference to AVY sump - the LH side top 2 bolts are set inboard and bolt holes on Tfsi engine are not elongated like mine below: If you do find one that looks OK for bolt pattern and has the gearbox mount - Either kindly ask the seller what height each of the gearbox bolts are or the sh#tty option is buy it to try - return if its wrong. My spare Gti engine is easy to get at if you need sizes. These are the PITA bolts and because the sump has an angle it makes the RH side / front of gearbox mount look short - this makes some ebay listing pictures look odd: For the newer engines there tends to be a hole for oil sensor that needs filling up though, obvs it does not need connecting up, either source a used sensor or make a blanking plate and RVT into position. While you are in there consider fitting allen key studs and nuts instead of bolts into those lower gearbox holes, it saves dropping the exhaust - or the entire manifold in my case - to get the bolts and in turn the gearbox out: Good luck with the search - report back if you have any luck

    My Lupo Gti

Personally I would be planning to spend a good amount of time looking at your front brakes for leaks, uneven wear and condition of discs and pads. It may be something as simple as gummed up sliders and pads sticking in the carrier causing the imbalance- all you need is couple of tins of brake cleaner and silicone brake grease. The holes in the carrier that the slider pins go into are best cleaned out with a drill bit turned by hand -iirc 8mm - and a good squeewsh of brake cleaner. With caliper off, check under for brake fluid leaking past the seal, carefully prise up the piston boots.

    My Lupo Gti

Either your brake pads are worn down lowering fluid level or a leak. Leak should be easy to spot - unless its hidden by leaking into the brake booster. Any recent brake bleeding? - nipple may not be tight
  12. Have you looked at the revisions? How about 6N0711167B? or Try searching with something different from Google - dogpile.com usually gets a result when Google fails
  13. I don't know the 1.0... but I suspect this may be the fan thermal switch the OP is talking about
  14. Mine is only one action to form the flare - never tried grease, too worried the pipe would slip.
  15. It's a bubble flare you need to create - not double I have re-piped a few Golfs, be aware that VW like to idiot proof the connections at the ABS pump. Usually one is M10 and the other a M12 so you don't mix the pipes up. I would recommend re-using the old fittings from the pump - do one pipe at a time to ensure you don't mess up! The rest of the unions should just be M10. Have you got a flare tool? I've have had the same cheap type for over 25 years and it has served me well - you just need to make sure you locate the pipe with correct length sticking out and fully clamp it down hard. Also to ensure you cut the pipe square I recommend getting a mini pipe cutter. Do a few practice runs and... remember to put the fittings on before the flare. Lastly, copper is the standard replacement pipe, its OK, but goes green over time. I like using is slightly pricier cousin Cupronickel or Cunifer pipe - it is pretty much the same metal as Silver coins, looks better when aged - definitely the way to go if you are keep the Lupo for a while. Downside is it is a little bit harder to work, but upside is being a bit tougher.
  16. Why not just adjust them attached? - just take it to someone else
  17. Sounds like you are talking about toe in - Does adjusting the tracking not change this? And there is also the 2 clamping nuts and bolt that connect the hub to the shock absorber - they can be slackened and change the angle of the wheel camber
  18. Bushes wear and soften - this starts pushing out the bottom of the hub/bearing carrier. Over time wheel alignments adjusts for this wear, but when new bushes are added it will pull the hubs inwards and be out of adjustment. Also top mount bush/bearings and or ball joints could be goosed adding more camber/caster than expected Lupo suspension isn't complex - I'm not sure if your mechanic is up to snuff
  19. Not trying hard enough - you need to see layers of dirt:
  20. Welcome to the forum Afraid your mov file isn't working for me - it may be the spring in the arm is not as strong and not pulling the wiper tight to the screen
  21. Suspect that the panels could be re-stitched - send the picture to an auto trimmer Seem to recall reading that if it was in an accident it would store any deployment in the airbag module
  22. All you talk about is 2 spoke wheels - 100% of your posts! I suspect its a no - but would suggest going to a scrap yard and swap a wheel in the yard Look into going Momo wheel as the hub adaptor means you can change different style/size wheels really easy, second hand wheels are pretty cheap: say if one day you are 3 spoke curious you can try without guilt.
  23. lots of grease and longer bolts start with the longer bolts get the clip starting to crush down then holding the clip down with grips swap for the shorter bolt, If it helps...it was a faf doing it with the subframe off the Lupo, I can easily imagine it being a mare on the car
