  1. Aluminium all round very light bright airy cabin what's not to like
  2. This isn't mine and I've no interest in the sale but its big miles for the little diesel unit, by choice I'd go for a 1.6 with all the toys but this one could go cheaply
  3. I've always quite fancied an Audi A2, so look them over on eBay regularly what's useful for us to know is that as I write this there is a 1.4 TDI model for sale at close to 250,000 miles Audi A2 2005 Diesel | eBay
  4. Anyone ever fitted a single wiper kit to a Loop or an Arosa, many years ago these were available to fit into Mk2 Golfs which solved the problem of the left hand sweep in the early cars, when I scrapped my Golf I swapped it to my Mk 2 Sirocco where it was also a perfect fit, sadly that car is gone too but I've always seen the single wiper as a cleaner design and it was quite fashionable to park the wiper in the centre Touring car style.
  5. cat cleaner in the tank and a 30 mile run before the test
  6. With a re map and it will embarrass a Lupo GTI
  7. Seat Arosa 1.4 TDI not Volkswagen Lupo TDI tdi | eBay, low miles should be saved
  8. Lots of nice modifications, well done, but I'd have started with a TDI rather than the petrol GTI model
  9. plus there can be considerable contribution of carbon neutral vegetable oils in their production
  10. They were prompted because of diesel fuel consumption being far lower than that of petrol and the consequent reductions in CO2, these reductions were far more important in terms of climate change than NOX emissions. All the European car manufactures decided to take the pish though.
  11. these are all still relatively new cars, don't brag about this till they are 20 years old
  12. Air quality in the 1950's was immensely worse in British cities than it is today, NOx quickly turn into acids that can become smog's but never on the scale of the past.
  13. this is true either the TDI or the SDI can manage 70mpg if driven gently
  14. I would go for the manual gearbox and a remap, a remap on its own might overwhelm the auto box
  15. I'm not surprised the Up, and its derivatives show no improvement on the Lupo/Arosa and without diesel models they show little variety
  16. Yes for the gear box and remap
  17. Mine is a 1.4 tdi on a rebuilt gear box and has done 20k miles since a remap which pushed the bhp to between 100 and 110, big miles overall now as it is approaching 180k, but still as fast and as fuel efficient as ever
  18. Worth having if you have a TDI, if you haven't might struggle to tow anything heavy
  19. The original calliper's from the 256 mm front discs on my Arosa TDI are too tight, are the callipers from the Lupo GTI wide enough to accommodate the pads
  20. I can't see the progress and the better brakes are only due to a bigger servo being fitted
  21. There's very little difference as far as I can see just one engine in different states of tune, no diesels, not particularly handsome either, though the SEAT version is prettier than the VW and at best the output is pathetic compared to rivals, cheaply made and compared to a Lupo or Arosa, tinny
  22. Not long after the Up range came out I drove my sister in laws car and could make a direct comparison with the various Lupo's and Arosa's I've owned, I can honestly say there was only one thing that was better and that was the brakes, in everything else, comfort, driving, handling etc even down to the very thin seats the Up was inferior
  23. Similar problems with my Arosa tdi which in the past have meant very regular disc and pad replacements which cure the problem temporarily but it always returns, this time I'm going for 280 mm discs, Sirocco carriers Mintex pads and new MK 5/6 Golf GTI callipers and of course some lightweight 15 inch alloys, as yet only the alloys are fitted but they on their own with wider tyres have reduced the judder, if this doesn't work, I don't know what to do, maybe look at Polo rear disc stub axles which are a simple bolt on.
  24. What's wrong with a Arosa Sport, the 100bhp car has better seats
