  1. 2002 Seat Arosa 1.0 MPi 3dr, Located Near Dewsbury, West Yorkshire For sale, my 2002 Seat Arosa 1.0. Originally bought last year as a run about, I now need something larger. This car has never let me down and starts first time, every time. Its just had a new MOT and sailed through without any problems. Mechanically this car is fine. The bodywork is below average condition for age with several dents and scratches on most panels. The car doesn’t have any rust. The bootlid was suffering from bad lacquer peel, but has now been covered by a sticker bomb vinyl wrap. Some interior parts have also been vinyl wrapped, but it can be easily removed without leaving any sticky residue. The car sits low on JOM adjustable suspension but doesn’t scrape on speed bumps. The JOM spanner will be included so you can raise or lower the ride height as you wish. VW G60 Steelies & centre caps. Budget Tyres. 92000 Miles. 11 months MOT (No Advisories) Some service history including cam belt change and previous MOTs to verify mileage. HPi history checked, but you’re welcome to check this for yourself. Low insurance group 5 (Out of 50) and up to 48mpg. Power Steering, Seat CD Player, VW G60s 14" with average condition budget tyres, JOM Adjustable Coilover Suspension. New Battery, OS Driveshaft, NS Rear Shock Absorber, Brakes. Overall this car is cosmetically scruffy, but has plenty of life left in it. You could spend a little (parts are cheap) and get it looking great again, or like me, just maintain it mechanically and enjoy it as it is. Please come and view, test drives are welcome with relevant insurance. Evenings or Weekends are best. Cars is located near Dewsbury West Yorkshire. No part exchange or swaps. Sensible offers accepted. £650 ONO CONTACT TOM: 07909 564682 Here's hoping these links work... https://flic.kr/p/rVtDAd https://flic.kr/p/sShsJd https://flic.kr/p/szUNdG https://flic.kr/p/sA2kCc https://flic.kr/p/sSgV2W https://flic.kr/p/sSucWM https://flic.kr/p/sSucEV https://flic.kr/p/sQaimq
  2. Took second mechanic for a drive. Only after several miles and the engine being warmed up did the noise reappear. Really loud speed related knocking/grinding coming from front wheels. I thought it was passenger side, mechanic said drivers side. He took it away and replaced offside drive shaft. All better now. Just thought I'd post in case anyone else had similar symptoms.
  3. Thanks for your help guys. A simple and cheap fix. I was thinking of fixing the tops and hadn't though of fixing the bases down. Cheers.
  4. Hello, A quick bit of advice needed please. My car was on JOM coilovers when I bought it. Last weekend I took the adjuster rings out on the rear to drop it lower. Looks good. The car is currently in the garage for a CV Joint replacement. My problem is, while they had the car on the ramps the back axel dropped and a rear spring fell out. I've been advised that this will be a MOT failure. MOT not due til april. Has anyone else come across this issue before? Is there a way of bonding the top of the spring to the body, or will this just creak. Thanks for your help, sarcastic humorous responses welcomed.
  5. https://soundcloud.com/thomas-leigh-2/new-recording-21 See if this links to my Sound Cloud... You can really hear it around 20 secs when I've stopped in traffic then set off again. Obviously recorded hands-free.
  6. I've recorded the audio, I'll see how good it sounds and see if I can post. Cheers.
  7. Hello. I'm running an Arosa 1.0 mpi on JOM coilovers. It's nearly done 90k. Recently when turning to the right on full lock there's been a nasty mechanical thunk. I've been ignoring it and not turning full lock. Then on Friday a similar grinding, mechanical thunk appeared when setting off in a straight line, and travelling up to around 10mph. It's easy to hear and is speed related as its clunks increase with speed until it disappears. This happens everyone now. I took it to my local mechanic who had it for the day, took it for a test drive but couldn't suggest what the noise could be. He began by suggesting I should return the suspension to standard and start replacing things. Helpfully quoting me around £400. I told him the coilovers cost less than £200, and that I'd get another opinion. Previously he suggested the lowered suspension would be putting strain on the drive shafts. I thought coilovers dropped the height of the body relative to the ground and the drive shaft geometry would remain the same??? Either way, has anyone a clue what the noise could be? I'm an amateur, but I'm fairly sure a wheel bearing would make a constant drone, not a gradual clunk. Any help or sarcastic humor greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Hello, I've searched but can't find a specific answer to my issue. Sometimes when headlights or sidelights are on, my dash lights (dials, radio, heater controls etc) flicker on and off. The lights on icon, and hand brake light work as normal but sometimes, the red glow disappears. Bit tricky when driving in the dark as I can't read the speedo etc. My external lighting is fine. The dash brightness switch doesn't make any difference, and all other electrics work as they should. The car has a brand new battery and no starting or running issues. It's a 2002 Arosa 1.0 mpi. Thanks for any advice.
  9. Adding Instagram filters to hide the dents and scratches... and BOOM!
  10. Thanks for your help. I'm gonna have a go at fixing the leak before I totally de-wiper it. The car hasn't got a lot of kit as it is. Here's the latest pic, although I've added the VW hub caps now...
  11. Hi, Thanks for the advice. I'll see how low the rears go, then consider removing the adjusters. A quick question about the rear washer. When you remove the wiper, do you take out the whole motor too? Cheers
  12. Hello, I'm Tom, Been an Arosa owner for just over two weeks now and finally found a useful forum. I own a 2007 Seat Leon TDi and am a member of a well known Seat Cupra forum, but the Arosa section is fairly baron. I thought maybe peoples interest in Arosa & Lupos was disappearing, thankfully not. Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of a very sorry 2002 Arosa 1.0 Mpi. The previous 9 owners haven't been kind to it, but I intend on bringing it back to some form of respectability. Its scratched, dented and stained. Its nice and basic but sits on JOM coil overs. I've changed the Axe 15" gunmetal alloys with stretched tyres for some VW G60 steels. Plans are: Full service. Lower the car a bit more as it sits high at the rear. Replace the rear bumper (It currently has a faded scuffed Lupo one) Replace the rear lights with Lupo units and wrap the boot lid (Its scratched, faded and has loads of lacquer peel) Repair rear washer or de-wiper. Paint callipers and drums, possibly paint wheel arches and seals. Refurb gunmetal alloys. Add more sound proofing to doors and boot. Maybe replace door cards etc or refurb. So far I have: Changed brake pads, cleaned drums, replaced gear knob with Lupo Sport version. Replaced gaiter for black leather with red stitching. Added standard Alana CD player. Fixed seized door lock. Replaced broken front grill. Cleaned the hell out of the interior (Its still stained) Repaired broken air vents. Fitted a new battery. Its essentially my new toy which I'll be using for my 5 mile commute to work. I'm only an amateur, and will probably be asking loads of questions or ploughing through the FAQs and guides. Give us a wave if you see me about the Wakefield area. Cheers.
