  1. found out where I am loosing liquid. somewhere down the line, after the anti-freeze liquid boul. (can`t think of the correct word). 30 cm down the rubber hoeses, there is a splitter. 2 hoeses go into the car (in and out - for heating), one goes to the radiator (I think), and the other goes to the water pump. Where the pipe from the water pump connects to the spliter, the gasket there I think is warn out. any ideea how that area over there is caled? p.s. aproximating..how many man hours will I pay???
  2. yes. 2x the normal speed. I will look up the earth fault.can`t move right now due to the fcking bad weather... thx for the tips
  3. It goes to 2x the normal speed, it does 5 or more rotaions on the window, and when it stops it stops in another area then the idle area. Could it be the relay?
  4. how can he pressure test it?!... what is sodium silicate?! where can I buy it, and will it act like a plug sealing up the hole?! p.s. I have a problem with the light on the heating/air fan/fan positions . Do I start another threat or? It has burned out like 1 year ago. can`t figure out how to get the thing out and replace the bulp.
  5. just came from the mechanic. it is coolant. problem is he wasn`t able to tell me where it came from. he told me for sure its coolant because it was sweet (From the glycerin)
  6. yes, it is a red liquid. I`m guessing for sure that it has to be the gearbox oil. Where can I find the screw that empties the liquid from the gearbox? can I see it at a normal view from underneat the car without jacking it up?
  7. I`m going to the mechanic in the morning. will keep you posted. found out the spot for the trany oil. I`ll look it up at his place. don`t have the tools to be honest.
  8. my smell is kind`a bad. it smels like oil..it has a harsh smell..like dead animals or some sort of... looked at the engine bay again....brake fluid the same, oil the same. cooling is a little bit off again...I filled it up in the morning, and it droped I think a bit. Found the hole used to fill the gearbox with oil. how do I open it? do I pull the "pin" or do I need a special key? 8, 9, 10? the underneath of the engine is clean. only "oil" spots are on the oil bay. and it is "humid". yes the engine does heat up, making the oil spots there more liquid...but I can`t seem to find any other place where there is liquid activity. Does the coolin ducts have plugins or outputs in that area or above it?
  9. Hello, I own a VW Lupo 1.4 60 CP. For the last month I noticed a little puddle of "liquid" undernith the car. I CAN`T SEEM TO FIND OUT WHERE IT CAME FROM. The oil is at the same level on the "level bar" from the engine. Brake fluid is the same (last time I checked). Powersteering fluid is the same. The only thing that is going "away" is the cooling fluid. I seem to need to add op on it at least 1 time a month. If in fact this is the problem....and I am loosing cooling fluid...where should I look?! I can`t seem to find out the place exaclty. I have heared of people that need to level op on cooling fluid because "the car eats it up sort`of". Can it be the case here?! or is it just a myth? THE STAIN SEEMS TO BE SETTLEING UNDER THE ENGINE BAY AREA...WHERE THE ENGINE HOOKS UP WITH THE GEARBOX. COULD IT BE GEARBOX FLUID? how can I recognize it, where do I find the level probe on the gearbox engine (if I have one). Thx all! Best regards!
  10. will I incounter incopatibility probles?! Does the ecu fit both engines?
  11. I got rust arround it. would like to tackle the problem before it grows. I allready removed the back plastics, leaving the mechanism open. But what do I do next? I can`t figure out what goes and what stays.
  12. I changed my brake vacuum hose 3 months after I bought the car.
  13. Hello, I would like too bost the engine a bit. Would it be an easy job to just refit the cylinders, pistons, etc (and whatever needs to be replaced) to bring it up to the 16 V model. Or should I just buy a new engine that has the 16V ??? Do I need to change the ecu on it if I just modify it? Does the gearbox limit my "new" performance ? should it be changed too? If I want to reach 100 or more BHP what should I be looking at? What path should I aproach. If I chose to mount a turbo on it, what would be the km pulled on the engine before I need to repair/change the bits that are over hauled?
