No cracks but paint is a bit crap. Looks ok from a distance but not up close. Was painted by me but is still a good red. Will fade in sunlight . Collection from Plymouth but may drop off to other parts of Devon or Cornwall if I ever drive past.

The cup holders. They are perfect on the Lupo. No other car seems to have such a perfectly situated and perfectly operating neat little cup holder as the Lupo I recon I could fit one to my Fiesta, there's a cubby hold where I could fit one of them. But they are really expensive on eBay. Why didn't I remove them before I sold it?

Yes, I need to get rid of it before the end of the month. Also I didn't mention it's an automatic. Gearbox is fine as far as I know The Cambelt needs replacing The fuse box under the dash has some white residue from water getting in, I think this is historic. The spare tyre has a slow puncture. If anyone is interested please contact me ASAP. I am willing to sell it for the same price I will get from the scrap dealer. If you need the engine you could sell the rest for scrap, essentially a free engine. Otherwise I'm driving it to the scrap dealer the day before the tax expires.

Hi All, Due to chronic rust issues I will be scrapping my poor red lupo with 1.4v 16V AUA engine, about 85k on the clock. Do you think it's worth trying to sell the car for it's engine, or shall I just sell the vehicle for scrap and pocket the £150? Car has so many faults and the bodywork is knackered I wouldn't like to sell it as a "on the road car", even though it's currently road legal. Got 2 months to decide, MOT is due in June.

Looking for good condition headlight units for both L and R side. Must be for Halogen models, not Xenon 🙂

I replaced the faulty one with a cheap clear casing, but it was absolute crap, very poor visibility from certain angles. So then I bought a couple of orange casings, for some other VW, and changed the bulbs to clear ones. Much better visibility from all angles. The orange casing doesn't rely on angles and reflections like the clear ones do. Thanks for the info

1.4v 16v 75hp AUA engine (20 years old, <80k), currently stalls if I put anything less than 99 RON. My trustworthy garage have declined to investigate. I could take it to a more "advanced" garage, who found and fixed my MAP sensor issues, but not sure if it's worth the money. Maybe the cars just too old to be running on modern fuels. I know all the labels say E5 for up to 5% ethanol but the actual amounts can vary, has the actual amount increased recently? Could that be related? One of the fuels my car likes is Shell v-power which contains 0% ethanol, despite being labelled E5 The error codes I get are "Fuel trim system too lean" on anything less than 99RON Anyone else got similar problems, or is it just me?

AUA is the 75hp model used on 1.4L 16v, AUB I'm told is the same basic engine but improved/tuned to 100hp. Different metal used for the engine block and different bore sizes? I believe on this forum you may find stories of people who tried to convert their AUA to AUB with a lot of work

Anyone got any tips on side indicator units that will replace the lamp and housing for my Lupo 1.4 S Went to change a bulb and the whole unit fell apart, superglued it back together as a temporary fix, but going to need a new unit. Originals don't seem to be available. Are the side indicators the same on all Lupo models or do some of the fancy models differ? Arosa looks the same, correct? Any of the LED models any good? Getting quite hard to get parts for the old Lupo nowadays. Plastics exposed all seem to be falling apart.

8 years or so, but rust is becoming a major issue, starting to worry about MOTs being viable

The main problem was the throttle body butteryfly valve sticking when the engine was cold. Cost quite a lot of money to diagnose and fix in the end, but now my car should pass the MOT next year -

It hardly ever goes into limp mode. It's done it once or twice in 5 years. Restarting the engine immediately always fixed it. When it had a real leak, it started thumping on gear changes, as it's an automatic transmission. -

I couldn't even identify the wiring from the ECU to the sensor to check it -

It's the 1.4 16V AUA engine Error code is this one http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17566/P1158 It's been happening for 5 years, to varying degrees. There were some leaks in the manifold which caused problems and were repaired. The error went away for 3 months. But most of the time it causes no problem at all. Engine always seems to have full power. -

Thanks for the tips, but they're beyond me to be honest. The manifold leaks were all repaired by the garage previously, the error has not gone away. That's why I'm looking for someone who can diagnose the fault or replace the ECU etc -
Anyone know a specialist in the Plymouth area who can help me sort out my annoying 17 year old Lupo? Map sensor error comes on every few minutes. Garage say there's nothing wrong with anything. Sensor replaced a couple times. So I need it fixed before the next MOT next year. Need someone reliable, worried I'll find someone who will waste hundreds of pounds not fixing the problem.

I need a third brake light assembly for my 2001 Lupo 1.4S I removed the old one to change a bulb and the plastic broke apart in my fingers. Very brittle. Anyone got one in good condition? the part number is 6H0945121

Wouldn't know what I'm looking at really but it seems solid enough to me.
