Hi guys Just spottd these on ebay and thought someone may want a bargain! I had these on my Lupo just before it was written off and they looked nothing short of amazing. They are 45 offset so fit perfectly and because they are 16" not 15" they just beef it up perfectly. They guy wants about £200 for them and I recon someone can pick up a bargain as I was offered £500 for mine when they car was whacked. Dudes Cheers for the replies! I figured as much. To be honest as those of you who saw my car or my post when I had my lupe's knew it wasmy pride and joy. I was going to replace it with a new one but decided I needed a change. I had a shot in my mates annivesary 1.8T and it was like driving my lupo's big brother. I debated for a long time about an anni or an S3. I took both out and the S3 was more of a monster but felt a little lardy. I bought my anni two weeks ago and it felt plenty fast! In my mind it is deffinately quicker than my lupo! but no majorly! That said its having a super chip and miltek exhaust fitted on monday which will take it to 210 so it shold be fun! Same PS as an early S3 and 15o kilo'lighter! Sweeeet style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />

Hi Guys I have recently bought a 1.8 turbo petrol golf GTI 25th anniversary on a 2002 with 30k. I previously owned a lupo GTI which I loved to bits and am equally stoked with my new car. The car is honestly immaculate and had two owners from new. It has never been damaged and is genuinely in A1 condition. I keep the car very clean and when I bought it I cleaned the chrome tail pipe until it sparkled like new (was very dirt). Every time I take it out for a run and get home there is a sooty deposit around the base chrome pipe. There is no over smoking from the exhaust and the car drives superbly. It was serviced at the main dealer at 26.5K so its recently serviced. I know this is the lupo not golf forum but you guys usually have the answers! Shold I be concerned at all? Any response would be greatly appriecaited! Thanks Tom

Yeah The S3's are lovely! I'm just having trouble finding one thats got low miles at around book price! Most are owned by gimp's who think a five year old car is still worth like four grand over list!! I didn't know they where aluminium panels!! Tom

Morning all After many months of waiting I now have a pay out for my insurance it's finally arrived! I now have two choices! The money I have will finance on of the following: A 2000'ish audi s3 with about 35 - 45k or a 2002/3 golf gti anniversary with about 15-20k Opinions please! I know there a pro's and con's to both cars (the big advantage of the audi been 4 wd) but I think the golf is just a nicer looking car, same engine and a lot lot lighter!!! What do you think? Well! As many of you know I had a rather unpleasant experience a month ago when my poor little GTi was killed in a head on collision with and Audi S4. Fortunately I was alright but my car was deemed a total loss. The insurance company have finally settled and have sent me a cheque for!! wait for it!!!!! £8895 Which is pretty good for and 02 gti with 38k on it! Especially as I paid £8950 20 months ago when she had only 9000 miles on the clock! Although it was mint and did have air con and BBS 16" split rims! Thanks to all those who told me to haggle and a big WTF back to those who though I shouldn't be so silly! I will certainly be worth butchering for parts (especially the wheels which are OK apart from one dinged rim which can be replaced!) These wheels are worth £400 on their own so if anyone gets a chance you should grab a bargain! Started saving for and Audi S3 and need another couple of grand and am going to buy a silver 00 plate with upto 50k and all the extras! Approx £11500! Was thinking about another GTi but think its time to move on! I have so many fond memories of the little lupes and always will have! I figure the S3 is like the Lupo's big brother on steroids! Thanks for the comments guys Going to push for the higher price! Lucky for me there is a nov 52 with 30k on VW website with no air! So definately worth argung over! Either way I now have a cheque for £8750 so thats a good thing!! Really supprised how well the old girl stood up! Lucky I was stationary though other wise it would have been a total mess! (for those who dont know guy jumped a red while I waited at a junction and head on's me!! Nice) Wheels aren't polo gti wheels they are 16" not 15"! Apparently very rare and bit gutting seeing as I had just got them finished!! Anyway thats life!!! Going to save a bit and buy and S3 early next year!! Looking for a 2000 model! silver/ grey leather all extra's and about 40k!!! Sweet Will let everyone know where she ends up!! To the best of my knowledge damage is only frontal but apparently engine etc is OK! Interior damaged! not becuase of CD on shelf but becuase the whole unit flew out the dash upon impact and stuck in back seat with most of the wiring dangling like an ambilical cord!!! Will keep you all posted!!!

Hi To be honest I am not sure if the hub is straight!! Cant get any parts off her before it goes as it is in a compound and someone has to come with you everytime you go to the car!! Sorry

Morning all Well it was confirmed yesterday that my GTi is definately dead!! It needs £10990 spending on it without paint!!! First item on list! New body shell. They have offered me £8250 on her (38K, 02, air etc) I told them to get stuffed and sent them the two which are on the VW website for £8499 and £9490 and told them I want £9500! I know its unlikely but I can but try!! Dont know were my cars going but there may definately be some parts for grabs!! My wheels are intact although one may need a new outer rim! They were 16" BBS splits (from a 02 olf rag) which are powdercoated grey and polished rims!! They are all ok but one has a small ding in it!! Very rare wheels as they are basically golf anniversary wheels but in four stud and are the same offset as bathurst so go straight on a gti!!! Lights are also unbroken as is the rear end of the car!!! Apparently the engine block and gear box are also OK but unfortunately the interior is damaged from the CD flying out the dash upon impact!! I do have a picutre of her but cant post it so if anyone wants a look drop me a line!! Alternatively if anyone can post it for me that would be cool!! Regards Tom P.S. have decided to use the money from the Lupo, put a couple of hundred by a month and wait until early next year an buy an S3!!

P.S. Have fully comp on a like for like policy ha ha! Knew that would pay off eventually!!! No way its not a gonner as both airbags went off! The engine is at 45 degrees through the passenger footwell! there is no bonnet or wings left and all the pilars are you shaped!!! And yes got the week off on doctors orders!! I just hope the ******* was 3rd party fire and theft!!

Dont know what the insurance will say but at the end of the day I aint accepting anything less than what it would cost me to replace for similar age/spec/miles from a dealer!! As far as the S4 touting muppet goes he was been carted off as I left the scene for hospital!! Only injuries are air bag burns on hands, bruised ribs and whip-lash! Which I will be making the most of via my insurance companies friendly solicitors!! Am so gutted!! I loved that car!! Made its worse as I had only fitted wheels last weekend after driving to wales to collect, having the outer polished and the inners powdercoated slate!!! Kinda ironic as I only spent £30 on saturday having a minor dent taken out the door!! Only final consilation is that prior to the police arriving while the guy wittered to his insurance I hoofed the drivers side aluminium mirror off his car in fit of momentary rage! which then got run over by a nice big truck!! That and the fact that he has only had the car ive week and apparently it cost him mega bucks to insure (gonna cost hime even more now with 0 no claims, a dangerous driving conviction and over £50k worth of knackered cars!!) ha ha ha! Not that his car will ever see the road again as it was as bad if not worse than mine!!! Just a totally gay situation!! absolutely un neccessary, and has destroyed yet another of a very special and very rare breed of VW GTi!!
