  1. So I had the geometry setup again and the car was feeling amazing so it meant for only one thing. Book a trackday at Snetterton for the Thursday (Valentines) 😂 The weather was absolutely perfect, and 12 degrees with the sun out and a perfectly dry track. The car felt absolutely incredible, keeping up with a lot of cars you wouldn't expect it to. The new bushes has definitely improved steering feel and initial turn in. The car was faultless, not a single issue all day, i was one of the last going round towards the end of the day despite doing over 50 laps already! I'll leave some pictures and videos below if anyone is interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MStdnlR2uvk&t=2s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ7fm5eXDAw
  2. Yup straight in, no modifications👍🏼
  3. I drove around 50 miles last night, geometry isn’t too far and I didn’t have a hint of rattle? Completely silent.
  4. Fitted the R32 rear wishbone bushes yeaterday, will report back if i can notice any difference once the geometry is setup again👍🏼
  5. Just seen you can get Lemforder bushes from these for £8.46 each. https://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=3380
  6. A mate ran them on his MK5 GTI, warped 2 sets in less than 6 months🤷🏼‍♂️
  7. I get mine from Eurocarparts, I use a G60 reg then get them under the performance section👍🏼
  8. Cheers, i’m pleased with how it turned out. To be honest, I drive the car just as hard everytime it gets driven, apart from the handbrakes. I just thought why not for a video. Yeah he really is a good driver, after about 10 minutes it seemed like he knew the car very well. I was in the car all of the time, it was very strange i must say!
  9. The video is now live! Everyone can you like and subscribe please👍🏼
  10. Well today has been a fantastic day, I’m sure most of you know or have heard of Sideways Sid. I took the car to him today for him to make a video on and to get someone else’s opinion on the car! It seems like he absolutely loved the car and he was really surprised by it. He is a super nice guy, we wasted a good 2 hours just talking car stuff lol. Not too sure when the video will be out but i’ll be sure to post it in here when it goes live!
  11. Video of how it sounds for anyone interested!
  12. Plenty of miles being put on the Lupo lately, all fun miles too! As it’s not my daily driver, every time it gets taken out it gets ‘driven’! Winter plans are to remove front subframe and everything else on the front end and powder coat the lot, the underneath will then be finished. The dash and doorcards will be getting flocked as i hate the texture on the standard dash and the doorcards are a horrible grey material. Gave it a thorough clean today, wheels off and arches all cleaned up, something i find really satisyfying to do.
  13. Much prefer a revvy N/A engine, don’t need more power👍🏼
  14. There is nothing about a 1.8t i want👍🏼
  15. A couple of pictures from the trackday -
  16. Well today was the last trackday of the year for me and the Lupo, at Snetterton again. I cannot describe how good the car feels compared to the last time on track. The new rear beam and geometry really has transformed the way the car behaves, so much more balance and composure through the high speed corners! The extra power is massively noticeable also, much more low down torque out the tighter corners. But, the best part is the brakes. They really are incredible compared tonthe standard calipers. Overall it was a good day, other than one little moment I ended uo facing the wrong way. I was chasing an MR2 for 3-4 laps, we was both pushing hard then suddenly he has a lot of smoke coming out. Can only assume the engine blew up and dumped all his oil on the track, causing me to do a 360 almost instantly lol!

  18. 😂😂😂 they are chunky ole track tyres!
  19. Yeah this way my thought, other than that i’m keen. They are a bit heavier, i think they are around 0.4kg a wheel heavier.
  20. After driving it some more, it’s safe to say its a little rocket now. Had a side by side rolling race through Mexico with a mate in his Clio 182 which has a full exhaust and a map. 50mph 3rd gear pull, i’m ahead up until about 100 then his 2.0 gradually pulls back. Pleased with that though! Also tried on my mates Enkei RPF1’s, what do you think? I really like them!
  21. Unfortunately it’s hard rev limited, it was annoying till i got used to it. No doubt you’ll feel the same once you drive yours some more. Yes i did, new rings and seals every where. New valves and all the other bits in the head. I reckon there is more to be had out of yours👍🏼

  23. It was, but thats cars! Thats nice to know, do you know who mapped yours?
  24. Update time: 21st November, mapping day. We made the 4 and a half hour journey to Manchester the night before ready for the morning. Drove over there for 9.00am, chatted to Wayne for an hour before putting the car on the dyno. Wayne done some pre-checks and his diagnostic tool flagged up a fault code i hadn’t seen before, “Camshaft position actuator malfunction” - great! Wayne pulled the VVT solenoid out and put some power through, turns out it was working so the problem is else where. Without this working its pointless to attempt mapping, so i made my way home and said i’ll figure it out and come back. So I get home, I had a spare VVT solenoid I thought i’d try, plugged it and took for a drive, an instant different in mid range power! I took it back out to compare them, turns out the holes for the oil were different so they wasn’t matching up to the holes on the head. Who ever sold me the head over a year ago now, we can only assume it was off a different 16v engine that uses a different solenoid, luckily the spare one I had was the one I got sent with the head. So after all that it was a simple fix that cost me nothing, other than a load of fuel wasted. I got back in contact with Wayne straight away to let him know the good news, he said he was free Friday. Confirmed it with him and made the early journey back up early Friday. We got it back on the Dyno, checked everything over and all was good! Wayne set to work, it’s a difficult ECU to map so it took all day, but the results are good! It made 159bhp, around 34bhp over a standard car! The biggest gains were through the midrange, around 3-4k before the map it was making about 80bhp, after the map it now makes 110 at 3-4. The rev limiter has also been raised from 6700 to 7300, thats where all the power is! Safe to say I am over the moon, I highly recommend anyone to visit Wayne if you are looking to get a map done, the blokes been mapping cars longer than i’ve been alive! He goes above and beyond! Just been out for a spirited drive, the car is an absolute weapon now. The extra revs allows me to to save upshifting on certain straight i previously had to! Overall, extremely happy!
