  1. Yes I have cleared it and it comes back after 20 mins of driving, I have just been told this so will take it to my mechanic friend and see what he says. find the wiring diagrams and plug diagrams and test from the both of the plugs to the ecu plug once you've got a possitve reading for an open circuit witch will be O.L or a mega high resistance anything over 0.01 ohms on the mutilmeter then you need to trace down the wire until you get a reading of 0.00
  2. Hi all, I get this error code when I run diagnostics on dashcommand. Just wondering if anyone knows what it is or what I need to do to fix it? I think it's causing my engine check light to come on? Car has no issues or running problems, its a 2003 lupo gti.
  3. Mine was on when I bought my GTI, turned out to be the brake switch, cost me £16 to fix.
  4. Have seen it going through Inverness too..
  5. Aye it's good but you have another £30 for the app too. No where near as good as vagcom but the data is pretty cool and it gives you fuel consumption etc. Every car gives different info from the ecu and the lupo gives a fair bit, you can change the dash boards to suit what data you want displayed. There is a race track option on it for times and stuff but I haven't looked into that yet, you can clear warning lights and view diagnostics. There is a skid pad and inclinometer but I have had not really looked into them either. All in all I would say it is worth it but others may not, I suppose it depends on what you would actually use it for and if that would justify the £50 on the app and obd2. Saying that if I had a warning light come on the dash I would plug it into vagcom before running diagnostics on dascommand as vagcom is obviously more advanced.. http://www.palmerperformance.com/products/dashcommand/index.php

Also make sure you buy the wifi obd2 and not the bluetooth if you have an iphone as the bluetooth wont sync with it. Only buy the bluetooth one if you have another type of android phone or are happy with jailbraking your ipod.
  7. Yeh the pioneer mate. The app is dashcommand, a great app with lots of info. On itunes and android I believe. Use a wifi obd2 connector to sync with car.
  8. Yeh the frenchies are off the back now and replaced with this authentic effort. Also got the new head unit installed with dashcommand running through the stereos own dedicated ipod touch which I installed onto the under shelfs ledge with heavy duty velcro so it can be removed for updating etc. Was a bit fiddly running the cable through without removing any dash parts but with a few cuts and scratches it all went well and looks good with no cables on show. The antenna for the gps went in behind the stereo and fixed under the dash and have had great coverage so far. The head unit also has full bluetooth control of my iphone so no need to connect via the cable which is great to have two devices connected at once.
  9. Nah mate I have been afraid to with some other mental prices they have quoted me recently, I should give them a call tomorrow and see what they say though. I will check the traders section too, cheers.
  10. Can anyone tell me where I can find a pair of check straps for a 2003 lupo gti? My doors are creaking and the only ones I can find are on ebay for £150 each!? Surely I can pick up some cheaper than that, will any other vw model fit? Any help very welcome
  11. Hi all, new member (ish) first post, so bare with me. Here is my 2003 lupo gti. I took the train from the Scottish highlands to pick it up in early March. By the time I drove it home I realised it was in need of some tlc. I should have taken photos then to compare the before and after pics but here are some from today at Loch Ness after most of the work has been completed. Done so far. I have still yet to see a gti anywhere in the highlands so this might well be one of the only ones up here.. Oh and can someone please tell me where to get a check strap as my doors are creaking!
