  1. It must be that time of year, mine's due a transplant next week, no compression on no1 cylinder.
  2. Nice find! Hope you have fun with your little Lupo.
  3. Lucky sod, my first car was a 1962 LandRover. Welcome.
  4. Ouch, bad luck with the kerb, but it's looking good.
  5. It's not for me to say, I've been warned already. Cough up a tenner for the full story!
  6. Seen yesterday at the Murco filling station on Barnsley Rd. Any takers?
  7. I don't have a sister, but if you find my gf let me know, I haven't seen her for 16 years. In fact I suspect she might not be my gf any more.
  8. Best ten quid I've spent in ages, I've only been a member for 2 weeks but the forums on here have saved me a mint already, which is nice as I'm on the sick & skint as f**k. It's got to be worth the cost of a couple of gallons of petrol just to read about Rich's works do.
  9. My mate had a Seicento in a very similar colour, someone knocked it onto it's roof in a supermarket car park. Now he's got a 1.4 Lupo.
  10. Sweet! Just bought a new front indicator panel in primer for 30 quid.

  11. Mine is pinking too, I changed the plugs today and they were black and filthy so it doesn't appear to be running weak. I'm going to change the oil and filter and air filters tomorrow. If that doesn't do the trick I'll try cleaning the injectors. Not familiar with this new-fangled stuff, this is the first water cooled car I've had in over 20 years. Edit. That did the trick, runs sweet now.
  12. Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I'm also having door grief, the bottom hinge pin is badly worn allowing the door to drop, reading through the threads on here I've decided I need a new hinge but rather more worrying is the U shaped bracket on the door post, mine is detached and makes a horrid noise when the door is opened/closed. Can someone tell me if this is supposed to be welded in place or if there's some way of fixing it. It's driving me potty! Thanks. Oops! Just noticed this is in the Arosa section, mines a Lupo but I guess it's the same!
  13. From one "new kid" to another, welcome to the club. Only had my Lupo since Saturday & loving it!
  14. All I see is a "Nellie the Elephant" CD .
  15. Haha, yeah, the Lupo is sheer luxury! All I have to do now is figure out what to do with all my redundant coats, hats & scarves.
  16. Thanks Pete, lovely looking GTI you've got there, I'm a bit jealous!
  17. Thanks, I'm looking forward to playing with the Lupo, already found some top tips on here. The beetle will be taking it easy for a while, but will return with a vengeance! lol.
  18. Cheers, it's going to get a bit of well-deserved R&R, it's been my daily driver for the past 12 years. This Lupo wil be my first water-cooled motor for 20 years, I'm already enjoying the heater!

  20. Hello there, I just got my first Lupo today, my Beetle ('85 Mexican) needs MOT work and a very kind friend donated his "spare" car to me. He's just bought a 1.4 last week so I've now got his Taffeta Green 1.0. Only done one journey in it so far but it's great. Nice to have a heater after 11 years of beetling. The Lupo needs a little work, but as it came for free I'm delighted with it. Best wishes, Chris.
