  1. was gonna say it couda been me but i'm a slap head style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  2. Brakes on loop are a nightmare, bought a set of 16 groove pagids and fast road pads last year, 280mm ones used on golf g60s and had to replace them in less than a year as all the grooves had been worn off, although pads still had material on them. Got them replaced with standard discs and new fast road pads in feb and got told by dealer today at service discs were deeply scored and grooved and would need replaced. Going up to Starperformance where I got work done to ask wtf is going on. Oh and my high level brake light isn't working and my MOTs due in a week - sweet! £108 for brake light, is that VWs idea of a joke? Add to that the cost of replacing belt and tensioner and new exhaust bracket and I'm out about a grand, nice work on a 4 year old car worth only about £4k. Never buying another VW, ripped right off. Love the car but it has cost me dearly over ownership term and keeps getting broken by mechanics who never know how to work on them.
  3. yep mine does similar thing, thought it got worse when i switched to optimax tho, perhaps the high octane rating?
  4. think our loops dont like the leccy windows im afraid. mine plays up when im driving and want to wind it up, it goes so far, hits some resistance and the safety switch kicks in. had to spray grease in the runners but it seems to have worked. at least this is my only complaint, which is fairly minor at that.
  5. QUOTE(Blue Loop)I use Fairy to clean the car actually and it works with the flies as well, [i:post_uid0]now five times longer [/i:post_uid0] style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> arghhh no the mortal sin!!!!!! :0 `washing-up` liquid is not a nice detergent to use on your pride and joy, it can strip the wax etc. from the car and also attack natural oils and waxes in the paint. - just say NO!! i always use car shampoo like the mer stuff, turtle wax etc. as for flies, imagine living up here where we have lots of standing water (usually puddles right enuf) trees, etc. it is fly utopia and my car is the hand of death to them. at this moment i have a wasp almost complete on the bonnet with a trail of guts from where it hit to where it slid and finally stopped - sweet
  6. and the only one i've seen is omp i think and it looks cack. it sits weird in bay cos of engine size etc. i like them when they are relatively flat but on loop it sits high etc. i really wouldn't bother, spend ur cash better.
  7. i think the small compact size of loop would mean it flexs less than the likes of a mk3 xr3i. tbh i'd use money on stiffer anti roll bar or shocks if u want to improve handling
  8. i've got a kenwood cd with vw illum, but i'm not fitting it in loop as style doesnt suit dash, alpine do blue illum as well. reckon ill get blaupunkt if the do decent unit with vw colours. btw kenwood hu doesnt pick up any AM radio, ie no 5live for footy :0
  9. uk list price for eibach bar for loop is ~£135 last i checked.
  10. QUOTE(bAAx)(coz then i can blow 280€ on an eibach replacement style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />)is that fitted, if not you are paying way too much.
  11. the bar on the loop is a chunky little ******, i'd be dubious of how much of an improvement the replacement would give and i had them fitted on my ibiza. if you compare eibachs to std golf mk3 bars then you see the difference, but with loop i'm not so sure.
  12. a 20vt lump will cost from 2.5 to about 4k ave. that will or at least should include engine/box/shafts/wiring etc. possibly clocks etc. add to that things like changing hubs, gear shift custom exhaust, extra wiring etc and the price begins to climb. 10k i would think so, but `7-8k` most likely cos ur gonna have to mod susp/brakes etc to get engineers report for insurance. so is it worth it? better to think about charger conversions etc, get them done right and your engine will last and put out serious horses and torque. if you just want a riot get nos, fairly cheap - >2k for prof fitting and tuning and u can have all the fun u like.
  13. check fronts!! i noticed my disc had 23mm stamped on it when i had wheel off. check dealer to be sure.

    dyno results

remember quattro is 4wd, so loss is around 2x that of 2wd but i've found that 2wd loss is around 30bhp from watching loads of runs on rollers

QUOTE(MattyB)And is that for a standard LupoGTi??? 130bhp (or even 138bph!) sounds high....and 108lb/ft of torque @ 5280??Supposed to be 112lb/ft at 3000rpm.... thats what it was giving, jim reckons he sees this sort of thing with vag motors regularly, giving a little more than booked in bhp. my 8v ibiza was 125bhp on rollers when it supposed to be 115bhp. this was similar to other 8v's. the torque could still be the tighness of engine, but we couldnt figure out how to get front towing eye - didn't want to mark bumper trying to prise things off - so it was strapped down by susp turrets so it may have been a bit loose on rollers on power up which would cost a bit of torque.
