  1. Can anybody who's in the trade get these done for me? Need 3 cars that need checking. Don't mind giving a few quid to your paypal account....
  2. As the others have said, SDI is the way forward! They are not that expensive and will be the most economical out of the whole lupo range. They can cruise at 60/70/80mph no problem while returning you 50+mpg (depending on your driving stlye and right foot!)
  3. Well as some of you, its dissertation time! I would be grateful if you guys can fill in my "quick" survey. Its quite an interesting topic. Topic: "To what extent are investment and commercial banks responsible for the demise in the UK economy?" Survey will take a couple of minutes. Click Please help! All help will be appreciated....
  4. Yeah as Cardaft has mentioned it is costly. I did some reserach when I had my Lupo, and I found a company that did A/C kits for the majority of cars. I remember the kit being about 1000 Euros. I think there was a kit for the Seat Arosas too!

In my sig for a Lupo SDI
  6. I think the Gti glass is thinner. So I am not sure how you would check it, apart from a physical check. Ask him on the day he turns up.... if he has no idea then you know what to say! I would let the windscreen fitter man do all the bits and bobs tbh, as they usually know what they are doing. Didn't really understand your question of paint damage....
  7. hmmmm They made some good Gti's over the years, bit I suppose its a shame and they have given up. Saying that though, I'm sure we bought the most amount of GTI badged cars in the UK more than anyone else! The 106 was pretty bonkers and yes, I do know you can buy second hand ones etc, but is VW the overall winner over the years? WIll you miss Peugeot's GTIs? 8. Well it doesn't sound right if something is rattling... It could be a number of things. When was it last serviced? Could be a case of dirty spark plugs? Have a look at the starter motor as the contacts may have worn. It may just be a because of the weather. My old Sdi used to crank slightly longer when the weather was colder (like now) but it would return to a quicker startup in the warmer periods (summer).
  9. I think £400 is excessive considering they are just spraying bumpers and other parts. I would get a few quotes from elsewhere, especially places that can get the full job done (smoothing and painting). Remember, make sure the place can plastic weld, not just fill it in with filler!
  10. That is correct. The clocks hold the mileage, so obviously the car you took it off has 20k more miles than yours. You should be able to get it changed. Look in your local yellow pages for a few backstreet places that fix speedos.
  11. The part number should be same. No difference there, I imagine. Not too sure on your noise issue on fans speeds. Maybe there is a blockage somewhere as the fan speed increases?
  12. Sort out a decent air filter. Strip as much weight as you can. Theres some trumpets that you can also remove, whcih apparently gives some extra power. If you want to go extreme engine building, then the bottom end is the same as one of the Mk4 diesel engines (can't remember which one!).
  13. I really wouldn't want to put 205/50/15 tyres on my gti. They will scrub on your arches. If you are thinking of using a cheap option then go for 195/45/15 tyres as there is a more wider range.
