  1. Here is my GTi which was matt/satin black vinyl roof wrapped last week by the guys at APM in Chester. I think it is a pretty good job and suits the car well! And before anyone says anything, I know she needs lowering and the wheels are my winters that I haven't taken off due to the weather being so generally cr@p. Black wheels and wing mirrors be next me thinks!...

    Lupo

She's a beaut mate! Looked spanking at the Awesome bash. I parked far far away so as not to look toooo shabby compared to yours!lol.
  5. right, a line of dirty unwashed cars it is then (as he just pops outside to clean the car thinking his might be the cleanest in the line! )
  6. If you dont bother, I wont?! hows that? and then I'll park next to yours...?!
  7. If it is 50% off you may tempt me Al....
  8. I will be rocking up for this one. Be good to see some top cars and see what deals are on...
  9. I have always tried to use either Vpower or an equivalent in my GTi and I would say it runs MUCH better with it in than on standard 95RON stuff. Best thing to do is give it a go and see for yourself!
  10. here is my households figures: Lupo GTi - 130bhp (remapped, sports cat) R32 - 260bhp+ (remapped, miltek) Yaris 1.5VVT - 103bhp Peugeot 206 1.4d - 68bhp Mini 1293cc - 70bhp 2 horses - 2bhp?! = 633bhp total/ 126.2bhp average (cars only)
  11. Cheers for the comment. Yeah the new ones tend to stick by each other - safety in numbers! But to be honest, they weren't received too well the first couple of times I went. I don't mind them too much now as the owners have got modding and some of the work done was top notch!
  12. Just thought I would share a few L2B pics from earlier this year. Done it 3 times now and it really is great to be part of! over 3000 minis pretty much spanning the whole distance from London (Crystal Palace) to Brighton (pier). And then all lining up on the front at Brighton. Anyway...a few pix.... All prepped and ready to rumble (literally... Spax on full hard setting and suspension dropped on the tyres... ) My mate Antony doing a spot of BBQing in Crystal Palace on the Saturday evening. A few thousand cars... all lined up to go to Brighton... at around 3am the line up began...gggrrrrreat!sort of. An example of some of the mini road blocks! Lined up at Brighton... And then we made our way back up north in rather a lot of rain! End of mini adventure... well.... until next year. Am thinking a supercharger may need to be added for next year...!

    Vinyl Or Paint!?

Yeah, you might want to specify what you are thinking of vinyl-ing?... is it the whole car or just a bonnet or roof? Vinyl only really lasts 3 years if you are wanting it to be removable?!...
  14. I have a straight through link pipe for a Lupo GTi... dont know if this would fit though?...
  15. ...haha, I am sure it would peel straight off no problem! don't fancy it myself!
  16. Matt Black Lupo GTi Please don't tell me this is anyones from here?!...
  17. I have a set you can borrow if you want to get them....?
  18. Haha... gutted! I can just imagine a pg3 model ringing up 'yeha, I would like some insurance. It's a car, silver, nice rims, has lots of go!' 'Ok, madame, can you tell me what size engine please?' 'Yes, certainly, it's is pretty small really, the front of the car is only small so it can't be very big' 'OOOKKK...are you blonde, large brea$ts and are employed as a model' 'Yeah' 'Bye' hahaha.
  19. ahh righto! would be interested in this fo sure. (sorry to hijack the topic by the way! )
  20. Cheers for wanging that up here for me Al. I think she might have a tad more power since this dyno was done now that the clutch is new and bedded in. Pulls like a train...suppose the cold air helps too but deffo worth doing IMO.
  21. I have a 200cell sports cat on my gti, running into a standard scorpion cat back system. Also had it remapped at Awesome and it now pulls like a train, very smooth and a little more torque too. Heard bad things about decatting so I personally wouldn't bother trying it. I can recommend Awesome if you require a remap...which you will as once the sports cat is fitted it feels a bit slow and almost turbo laggy (if indeed this is a word)!

    An exhaust for a GTI

I don't have a raceland but I do have a 200 cell sports cat and a scorpion cat back system. Must say, the sports cat definitely SEEMS to have made for a smoother acceleration and it seems to pick up a little better too. As for £445 for a system and a cat back...that sounds like very good value to me! Post up a vid of her purrrring when you've got the old girl back?
  23. Yeah, I am yet to book it in but the dealer is VW Wrexham and web http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/retailers/132 dealing with a chap called Ben. Will let you all know results when she is done...
  24. a tad bit of news to add to my ventures - VW associated dealer in Wrexham has agreed to sort out my rust problem on the roof line of my gti. Very happy they have said yes but also conscious they might bwgger it up!lol. Will let you know how they do!... Cheers for the thread btw - very helpful.
  25. Maybe a small insursion in each bubble would allow seepage through the spoiler...can't believe its not covered.
