  1. *drool* Niiiiicccee Does anyone know of an after market h/u will interface / operate correctly with a VW 6 disc boot mounted changer?
  2. Cool Purchase style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Dealers are weird - went to a dealer at the w/end to discuss prices for new loop and they offered me an `in-dash` changer (at an extra £400!) They can't seem to get their acts together and be consistent. I also note that on the VW website all lupo's have £450 off their new prices at the mo style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  3. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Not good - happened to me too - twice in one week in the work car park panels slightly pushed out of shape on both front and rear n/s corners - but the scuffs and scratches mostly polished out. I want a shiny new loop
  4. My Loop crunches too - so did my polo according to the VW techie guy I asked about it the clutch needs to be depressed for around 15 secs before engaging reverse gear. apparently it's because the idler gear is spinning in a forward direction so needs time to slow after the clutch is depressed otherwise it gets suddeny stopped when u engage reverse and goes crunch ??? Not sure it actually works (or makes sense) but my knowledge of tech stuff is limited The important thing is it's normal for them to crunch style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  5. I guess there are some plusses to VW dealerships - I'm posting this from their free internet access PC while my loop is having a new window seal, taigate lock and wiring loom fitted. That should solve my leaks and rattles style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  6. I get a squeak from the passenger seat ut only when taking right hand bends at absurd speeds style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ...and mostly when my wife is in the car style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  7. I contemplated that after getting a puncture last year and it taking nearly a week for VW to get me a repacement - couldn't find any alternatives to the Dunlops - don't think anyone makes em in our unique size!
  8. Aaargh my replaced driver side window seal has just fallen off as I was driving with the window down Can't dealerships get the smallest jobs right? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

    K&N MK2 - K&N

I was reading in the PVW forum that Ram Air also do an induction kit for the Polo GTi which I guess would fit the loop but I can't find any info on it at Ram Air's site - anyone know anything about it?

    K&N MK2 - K&N

Thanx for the tips - a scan of the instructions would be great though once I can see the airbox hopefully the rest should fall into place. I wondered about those plastic strips but didn't dar try to lever them off in case I damaged them.

    K&N MK2 - K&N

You'll have to cut me some slack about my ignorance here but I fitted a K&N element to a polo before - no problem, however I can't seem to figure out how to get the plastic cover off of the airbox / intake manifold on my lupo - no visible clips or bolts and I don't want to pull at it too much ??? The other thing is where can I get a K&N induction kit anyway - I've spent ages searching for filters / induction kits for the Lupo but all I could find was a Jetex replacement element. Do you have a kit packaged as a Polo GTI product?
  12. I had a couple of problems with electric windows both on my TDI lupo (previous car) and my GTI. Basically when I tried to use the one touch up or down control the window would get halfway and stick. It still worked fine when you kept your finger on the control though. VW just repalced the motors when I mentioned it. Both of the cars were ex demonstrators and I have a suspicion the problem has something to do with overdoing things with a powerful pressure washer as the same windows with the motor problems also had small leaks around the seal - only noticeable when jet washed!
  13. sorry to hear about the xenons style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Now I'm not so sure about getting an induction kit - the warranty is seeming quite attractive
  14. My tech knowledge isn't great but here's a thought - the rear axle noise could be just crud from the rear brake pads causing a bit of grinding. I sometimes get brake noise if my car has been parked up for a couple of days. Also I used to have a Mark IV polo which always had noisy front brakes and it was only after I persuaded the VW dealer to replace both the discs and pads (even though they had plenty of miles left in them) that it got better (but never went away entirely). On a slightly different note, my GTI has a distinct rattle from the rear - apparently due to tailgate flexion - according to the VW dealer. They've replaced hydraulic tailgate struts and are now going to replace the tailgate wiring loom and lock (all under warranty of course style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />). They reckon it's a common problem with Lupo's (they always say that though) so I wondered if anyone else has encountered this?
