I sold my Lupo earlier in the year and my number plate ended up on my sister Lupo which whe is in the process of selling as she's about to have her third child and the Loop just isnt big enough. Also since my garage door has just let go in a big way i'm going to sell the plate to fund a new door. Its on retention and ready to go. Reads Our Lupo and yours for £650
  2. Howdy all, My dads sport has been giving him grief for the last few weeks as the battery has been draining off, anyway managed to have a look at it today and found that theres a 1.94amp drain on the system. Traced through all the fuses etc with no avail, thought it must be a non standard system so pulled the fuses on the alarm which is the only non stand thing about the car (Toad Ai606, I fitted about 12 months ago) still no avail. Heres whats confusing me, I disconnected the fuse carrier (bridge thing ) from the battery top from the main +ve battery terminal cable/post (which I pressume is main for starter, no drain on this so I left it there) then pulled all fuses and disconnected the two other leads on there (one 80A & one 110A). Can someone tell me what does what regarding this "battery bridge" I am assuming the red 80A cable feeds the car (main fuse board etc) and the black 110A cable feeds the alternator? what do two 30A and 25A fuses feed? through the multiplug (3 wires) Anyway when I disconnect all the cables & fuses from the battery bridge I am getting the 1.94amp drain back when I connect any single one of these back again (apart from the 25a fuse), which is confusing me as I would of thought they are all seperate circuits. Or could this be a negative/earth fault hence its affected this way. I hope all that makes sense cause i'm puddling my head even more now writing it down.
  3. Hey all, I have done a search for this already and can only find wiring diagrams for cars fitted with factory remote central locking and alarm (thanks for whoever uploaded this its a big help) sadly though my sport doesnt have this feature. Anway, i'm fitting an alarm to my Sport and wanted to know where the best place to pick up the wiring for the total closure windows and alarm (I am guessing the best place will be in the drivers door, but hoping someone will know differently!). Also the tailgate/boot switch and central locking feed (I'm assuming this runs off a relay?) as I want to open the boot with the auxillary setting on the alarm. I think the boot switch is brown/white wire found in the n/s passenger kickpanel. So if anyone has wiring diagrams to help, would be mucho appreciated. Many thanks style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
  4. Hey guys, Recently when my Lupo is warm and I switch it off and come to start it again (petrol station is a classic situation) it fails to start. Leave it a few minutes and it fires and runs fine. Anyone else encountered this? runs fine otherwise and has no fault codes showing. Its a 1.0ltr btw. Ta,
  5. Cheers guys, Strange thing is its not throwing any fault codes up at all, ah well maybe I should of bought that GTI motor of ebay the other week style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  6. Defo... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> After a week the question you will ask yourself is how you ever coped without one. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  7. Came home from work tonight and the other half mentioned causally that a light had come on this morning in the Loop... Non other than the engine warning light which she then did another 40+miles to work and back failing to inform me thinking its nothing. (I'm thinking the Simpsons here when it comes to engine lights style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> ) So anyway, what does this light relate to?? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> i've checked all levels oil was a tad on the low side but not below the minimum level and everything else is A-OK. There no rattles, knocks etc and everything seems to be running fine. Anyone shed some light on this style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> Gonna go and plug my analyser in it see if it gives any fault codes back.
  8. Do it yourself for about a fiver max style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> Sorry guess you dont want to hear that style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  9. My girlfriend had this happen to her in Morrisons carpark in her Mk4 Polo, which uses the same lock/barrel setup as the lupo. (although there not the same as the lupo's blade (see below) is slightly shorter, I know cause I had a spare Lupo handle and tried repairing it with that.) I ended up having to strip the doorcard etc and remove the handle, there is a blade type affair which comes off the end of the barrel and into the locking mechanism this has fallen apart style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" /> jamming the key over to one side not letting it be removed. If your completely stuck (which is sounds like you are) I managed to strip the lock remove the key and reasemble the handle/door so that at least the car could be used all be it only locked/unlocked from the passenger side. All done in the middle of Morrisons I might add!! lucky i'm a mobile service engineer style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Went to a scrappie the next day and stripped a lock off a Polo and "liberated" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> the bits I needed (the blade bit which had snapped). You problem sounds the same it is simple to recitfy though. HTH
  10. That would be my dads new Sport style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> and if all goes to plan should be lowered anytime soon to match my red one style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  11. I work alot in and around Cannock (for Catapilar) but you'l never see my Lupo down there only Works van style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> Also my dad bought his Sport from Lichfield.
  12. I'm defo gonna be at Tatton next weekend havent missed this show in probably the last 5-6 years, nice laid back affair this one and usually a cracker of a show if the weather holds out (which it usually doesnt style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" /> ) Since the Lupos currently off the road I'll be be in a Split screen camper so I wouldnt of been anygood for a club stand anyway style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  13. My problem is that the car is already scratched and chipped, I dont want this as a prevention for stone chips just to cover some up temporarily until I finish bulding my garage and can repaint the front end (again style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" /> ). Also cant wait to get my garage finnished now so I can prep and paint my Caddy style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> I just wondered what one would look like on a red car, I do like them on certain colours (like the yellow Mk3 as shown, works so well with the black trim) but still think I prefer just the bonnet ones and not the complete front end ones. We will have to see anyway, i've had to sorn the Lupo this month cause I cant afford to insure it and the caddy at the same time plus I need to do the steering and other little jobs so theres plenty of time to sums it up style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  14. LOL, no need to ask what the verdict is then style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Just for the record I dont like them myself style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> , just saw it as an easy **TEMPORARY** solution to a problem style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> . I was just worried people outside the car world (ie my neighbours etc) who dont understand or even know what it is would think I was a tit, case closed I think just put up with the stone chips and scratches for now then style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />
  15. Since theres alot of minor chips and scratches on the front of my Lupo, not to mention the grille is a complete write off due to a feck up with paint stripper!! (dont ask border="0" class="linked-image" /> They can look so good border="0" class="linked-image" />
