  1. Someone find me a £450 Lupo and I'll happily pay the money
  2. The only thing I want to be 100% certain about is the inner wings, I come from a Vauxhall background and certain front end conversions have been done on cars with similar metal underneath but they needed some proper in depth metalwork doing (I mean welding and fabricating) so I'm hoping it's not that hard. It's the same on Civics too, people have done Integra front ends and it's not straight forward bolt on stuff. I know the Arosa and the Lupo are the same car essentially but I don't want to end up with two piles of bits and a shedload of work to do lol. Incidentally, I had read that post after the link was posted, but, as said (twice in this thread, rather ironically, considering the replies), he didn't do the original conversion so the info I'm after isn't there....
  3. So in theory, I can use the original gearbox? or maybe a 1.4 16v sport gearbox as it's presumably got better ratios and is proven to cope with a bit more power. The engines aren't that badly priced, especially not for one needing a rebuild (which it would get before going anywhere near the car anyway)
  4. So, has anyone ACTUALLY done this, or is everyone guessing?
  5. It's hardly a lot of effort, it's 2 wings, the bonnet, front panel, headlamps, indicators and grille pieces, not really on par with a complete 'replica' bodykit, is it?
  6. I'd still be better off, insurance is pennies.
  7. Arosas are about half the price.
  8. Lovely. Any idea just how simple it is?
  9. Is it possible to change all the front panels on a mk1 Arosa to the Lupo items?
  10. How easy is it? By the looks of it the engines are the same family so the block is the same? Forget about wiring, that's easy, I just want to know if it will physically bolt in and what gearbox will be the best option.
  11. Bit of thread digging here. Saw this today on Cobb's Lane in Wollaston, driver waved at me, no idea who it is though.
  12. I've just been reading up about the Arosa 'GTi' in readers rides, and it mentions something about VVT, what do I do with that? disable it? Also, I've seen a couple of threads saying the GTi isn't particularly tuneable, so would I be better starting with a 1.4 16v (100bhp), or is that just as bad? If needs be, I can run the engine (whichever) on decent aftermarket management, if that makes it any easier... Another thing I've noticed is something about subframes and the GTi engine, is this the same for the other 16vs? and is the 1 litre the only one with the subframe which needs swapping? Once again, sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
  13. Awesome. I thought that might be the case, but thought I'd double check, you never know what the manufacturer might have done style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Thanks for the reply.
  14. Hi. I'm planning on buying a 1.0 MPi Arosa for a track car. Obviously the 50bhp isn't going to be much good, so, does a Polo GTi engine go straight in? (I know it should, but not sure if the Polo gearbox is different to the Lupo GTi one?), what about the ECU? Also, is the suspension setup the same for all Arosas (early/late) and Lupos, so I know if I can buy coilovers for a Lupo for example. What brakes would be best? Sorry if the questions sound stupid, but I've got no experience of Arosas/Lupos to speak of style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> . Thanks.
